If you want to mitigate the risk somewhat you can see if this hotel appears for both the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. MadFlyer Posted November 16, 2009 Report Share Posted November 16, 2009 I have stayed at the IC Madrid on several occasions and can not imagine that they have been downgraded as it is a true international standard 5 star hotel. In Spain, hotels themselves decide if they want to be a 5 star hotel and only need to meet the facility requirements and they pay an additional tax. My best guess would be that this one is the Hesperia Madrid which is just up from the Intercontinental. The AC Santo Mauro would be highly unlikely. Link to comment
trenhoel Posted November 16, 2009 Author Report Share Posted November 16, 2009 Today my $76-bids were rejected for 4* Madrid in zones Old Madrid+Chamberi-Chamartin-Salamanca for travel from 01/16/10 to 01/20/10. Got a counteroffer for $116 which I found much to high to accept. Any strategic advice for further bidding? Link to comment
