AaronJB
I'm not familiar with the area, but I'm not seeing anything when I search for that area on HOTWIRE. Did you try searching for this area in either service? Link to comment

blondavailable
My view on obtaining a PRICELINE / HOTWIRE hotel in a small community during the summer tourist season is that you will not get the deals as you would in a larger city. The hotels may not have released the availability. I suspect the thinking of the hotel operators is that they prefer not to place their property on the opaque site at a reduced rate; but rather hold out for full tariff through the traditional booking method or the bid prcess. I would suggest this is the case for the 3 towns indicated as well as Sydney and Charlottetown. There is a Travelzoo rate of $99 Cdn at the Liscomb Lodge all summer, this includes buffet breakfast. Keltic Lodge (no breakfast) and Digby Pines (buffet breakfast) is $115. Link to comment
mcarth342
Hi blondavailable :) thanks for the reply, agreed doubt i will get anything close to passing as a good deal on PRICELINE.Cheers for the Travelzoo website ,unfortunately the deals at these hotels are for September not Mid August and they are a bit out from Colchester region.Arthur Link to comment
Keoni
Remember, rule number one when using an opaque service and you aren't having any luck but still havetime before the event... Book a reservation that you can cancel so you know you have something at aprice you like, at a property you like, then continue to bid on Priceline up until your latest cancel date. Thisway you know you received the lowest possible price even if you aren't successful on Priceline or Hotwire. Youcan book most major chains directly thru this website and continue to support Betterbidding. Then, if you hityour price on Priceline, cancel your direct book room. Finally, make sure you understand the cancellation rulesfor direct bookings, many places are now requiring you cancel 3 days prior or pay a one night charge. :) Regards, Keoni :) Link to comment
