mlvenan
I tried to bid for a convertible on Priceline for San Diego from April 2nd - 6th (4 days). My first bid was not accepted ($30), so I waited my 24 hours and went to try again. However, I get a message saying that a change in price alone is not sufficient to submit a new rental car request. Is this really true? Am i not able to re-bid on the same dates and car type after 24 hours? Thanks. Link to comment
mrxow
It's 24 hours for hotels, 72 for cars. I have had problems with the car rebids though even after 72 hours where it gives me the error message and makes me wait another three days. Don't know if they have resolved this. I wait till the 4th day... Link to comment
mlvenan
Thanks. It would be nice if their FAQ section had that information!! Link to comment
mrxow
I am sure it does somewhere as well as on the email they sent you after the first bid... They don't tell you they will deny your bid after 72 hours sometimes, though. That appears to be a glitch, or was a glitch at least.Make sure to use the PRICELINE link when you try again. I wait till the 4th day...This is confusing. I am on PriceLine about to make a car bid the following came up with the "you're bidding too low" trick.Note the line in BoldWe Want You To Get Your Car!$20 per day would be a great price to get for your SUV Car but it's so far below currently available retail rates that none of our partners are likely to accept it. Remember - If your offer is not accepted you will need to change your pick-up or drop-off date, time, or car type to resubmit your request. If you only want to change the price you will need to wait 24 hours before submitting a new rental car request. I thought all of these posts might be old but see they are from last week.so is it 24 hours or 72??Inquiring minds want to know ;^)dougieieie Link to comment
thereuare
It could be a typo or they could be in the process of changing the rules. I do see the message you're seeing, but also current from PRICELINE's HELP section:...only allow priceline.com customers to make one offer for the same itinerary (same pick-up and drop-off dates, location and car type) in any 3-day period. We'll have to wait a few days and see which gets fixed/updated.PS- ignore the red 'low bid' message... it's useless and shouldn't be used to determine a starting bid price Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment

TEXASGTP
It had been 40+ hours since my last bid and the note came up saying that I had to wait 24 hours to rebid. I'll just wait it out and bid in two nights to meet the 72 hour requirment, being that I also have plenty of time left. Link to comment
