ezed
I have been a appreciative user of this forum over the years (and we go thru Savings Barn). Now looking for 3-nites in midtown NYC; 2 rooms. Our max is $230. We do have a backup. I have read the current bid notes for similar 4* dates so I have a good idea of the bidding strategy; 5 bid zones (MTW, MTE, TSQ, UM/CPS, MTS) and 2 re-bid (UWS, UES). I hope I got that right.I would like your current strategy for our specifics. Thanks again for your help. Link to comment
rmsmith
i know your rebid zones are right for a 4*, as far as rates go I'm not sure yet, but i'm going to Manhattan 5/9-5/11 however I've been extremely busy and haven't done any bidding as soon as i bid I'll let ya know! ezed
Thanks again for the great help and the Bid list; it's very useful for tracking each bid entry. And you're right about this expensive time in NYC. I used the bid list all the way and finished at $240 (instead of $235) for the 5 zones, and got rejected :) Our backup is 3* at $280, so at this point, I would like to try again for a 4* with a limit of $280. Would appreciate your bid list with this new limit, and any other ideas. Link to comment

teamla
Thanks for the tip. That's cheaper than the 2.5* Times Square back-up we've booked, but I'm concerned about the TripAdvisor ratings and the location, given that we're first time visitors and want to be able to quickly get everywhere! The neighbourhood also seems to be all business. Can anyone offer me any advice? The deal still appears to be available. Link to comment
