  1. After failing to get a good deal at Priceline for a 4* or 3.5*, decided to go for a 3.5* on Hotwire. Hotwire was offering a $20 off per reservation (one day sale only), so got it for $83 - $10 = $73 plus taxes and fees for 2 nights. Amenities were FREE INTERNET, PET FRIENDLY, SMOKE FREE ROOMS, FITNESS, HIGH SPEED INTERNET. Their web site indicates the restaurant closed on Feb. 1, 2013, so that is why it is no longer listed in their amenity list. When I booked, there was a 90% thumbs up, but now it has reverted to "we are still gathering reviews". Used the BB link to HOTWIRE.
  2. Used BB HOTWIRE link to get this #24 out of 67 (on Tripadvisor) Victoria Downtown hotel $80 x 4 + $60 = $381 for 3 adults in one room. Amenities: free internet, indoor pool, fitness, accessible for blind, path of travel, in-room, bathroom, handicapped parking
  3. Bid $49 for 2 nights, rejected. Changed to $55 for 3 nights, accepted. Extended to a 4th night. Not that central apparently, and some reviewers have said it doesn't merit a 4* rating, but even if it is a 3* or even a 2 1/2*, seems like a good price.
  4. Even if assigned the worst room in the complex, the $8/day parking fee, the optional $10/day internet fee (or both plus a 2-person cabana for $20/day), think this is a pretty good deal for a beachfront resort. Used BB's PRICELINE link.
  5. Won this property before germangirl's win at $50 for Oct. 20 for one night. Still happy with my winning bid (used BB's PRICELINE link) for Tr..Adv...... #4 of 36 Sarasota hotels. Their site asking for $111 + taxes = $124.99 vs $56 + 14.47 = $70.47 for the same night.
  6. After multiple bids trying to get something close to South Beach for those 3 nights, including an unsuccessful bid of $69 in this area, increased bid to $75 and got this hotel (used BB's PRICELINE link for all bids). Note that this is at the extreme north end of Area #5, Miami Beach, so a considerable distance from South Beach if you are relying on taxis. There are public buses however. Reviews report problems with noise from adjacent rooms and problems finding parking, so hope that it will work out OK.
  7. Started with $65 bid for 4*, counteroffered at $85; using free bids of $70 and $72, accepted; used BB PRICELINE link. Added a second night for the same price. Haven't yet been able to determine if I got the beachfront hotel or the golf course Diplomat. Thereyouare, does the board get credit for the additional nights if I extend my stay?
  8. Used BB's HOTWIRE link Originally a Ramada Amenities: Breakfast Fitness Pool Business Laundry Internet Originally said recommended by 65%, but now has reverted to "gathering reviews"
  9. Thanks to asil, saved $1 compared to my previous successful bid for this hotel As usual BB's PRICELINE link
  10. Used BB's PRICELINE link Not a great deal. Saved only $18 over their site when taxes and charges added for both. Poor reviews on Tripadvisor, 3.2/5 at Expedia, 6.8/10 at Hotels.com, 6.2/10 at Priceline. $3 for airport shuttle, no free breakfast According to Google maps only a 20 minute walk to the airport. Hope it will be OK for one night
  11. Used B&B's PRICELINE link to get this hotel for $31 on first bid. $42.21 with taxes and fees
  12. Stayed at the Hotel MAX, good value at 3 1/2 stars on PRICELINE, at Stewart and 7th. Valet parking $30. Parking lot 2 blocks north on west side of 7th for $17 for 24 hours, no attendant so you could leave and come back on the same ticket.
  13. A change in plans made it necessary to try for a second room (see my previous priceline win). Fortunately got the same hotel, this time for $63.
  14. After trying up to $78 for a 4*, decided to try 3.5*. Started at $56. Counter-offered at $71. Used free bid zones increasing by $3 each time and got the Max for $65 ($130 + $27.32 = $157.32 for 2 nights). Used BB's PRICELINE link.
  15. Using BB's PRICELINE link, bid $52 for 3.5*, counter offer of $67, entered a free zone with bid of $56, accepted. HOTWIRE was quoting $68 for probably the same hotel. Tripadvisor 28 of 126 in Seattle, works well for our plans.
  16. One day after booking this hotel on Hotwire for $49, tried to add a second room on Hotwire and they were asking $84. Tried Priceline 3* at $42, rejected. Then 2.5* at $47. Accepted. Possibly could have got it for slightly less, but I didn't want to get locked out for 24 hours, and not be able to get a second room for tonight.
  17. Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Rest., Fitness, High-speed internet, Pool Used BB's HOTWIRE link. Initially said 95% recommended but now says still collecting reviews.
  18. Amenities: breakfast, fitness, pool, laundry, high speed internet $69 + $15.83 3.5 out of 5 on Tripadvisor Used BB's link to HOTWIRE
  19. Decided not to take risk of not getting this property by bidding on PRICELINE (wanted because of location, even if they discriminate against Priceline and HOTWIRE customers). Amenities: non-smoking; restaurant; highspeed internet Recommended in 75% of Hotwire reviews, 3.5/5 in Overall section, 3.5 circles on Tripadvisor. Used BB's HOTWIRE link.
  20. Amenities: Suite, breakfast, fitness, kitchen. $29 plus $10.43 = $39.43 Used BB's HOTWIRE link
  21. Booked the following post a few days ago, but then decided to extend for another 2 nights. Currently 4 days is $46, 2 is $48. Used Better bidding's HOTWIRE link. Amenities: Shuttle, Breakfast, Business, Laundry, Internet, Kitchenette
  22. Used Better bidding's HOTWIRE link. Amenities: Shuttle, Breakfast, Business, Laundry, Internet, Kitchenette Seems like a good deal. #16 of 62 of Santa Fe hotels at tripadvisor.
