  7. I don't have much experience in the bidding system. Any suggestions on what approach I should take? (as in bidding increments, re-bid zones, etc)
  8. I'm looking to explore LA with my girlfriend and would like to stay 3 nights in an upscale/boutique 4* hotel whilst minimizing costs. I don't have a preference between the two areas I'm looking at - Beverly Hills or Hollywood... My first question is how much the rate would increase if I check-in on Fri/Sat instead of a Sunday? We would much rather stay on a weekend, however, if the difference is significant we are willing to sacrifice the dates to get a better hotel. Please help me define a bidding strategy for this. The maximum I'd be willing to pay is $170/nt for a weekend rate and $140 for a non-weekend rate. I would also try a 3.5* hotel if the rates are higher than my maximum bid. Thank you BB! EDIT: I looked at the rates from 6/1-6/4 which include Friday and Saturday, and the median rate is $282 as opposed to $307 for 6/2-6/5 and 6/3-6/6. Question: Is $140-170 a decent bid for a $282 median rate?
  9. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rancho Mirage Rancho Mirage-Indian Wells-Palm Desert 71730 Highway 111 Rancho Mirage, California 92270 Was looking to book early for Coachella Festival next year (rates are incredibly overpriced and availability is very limited closer to date). Bid $67 3 stars on Palm Springs (NOT ACCEPTED) Bid $71 2 1/2 stars Palm Spring RM-IW-Indio (ACCEPTED) Booked insurance just in case. our Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $71.00 Travel Insurance: $15.00 Subtotal: $228.00 Taxes & Fees: $40.77 Total Charges*: $268.77 Think it's a pretty good deal considering the nightly rate for those dates is $200 + tax. Breakfast is also included and there are pretty good reviews about this hotel.
  10. I have heard from friends in Vegas that it is very common to slip a $20er along with your credit card/id but I've never done this as I think it would make the employees feel cheap. I'm not sure if this applies everywhere or not. I do appreciate your tips, however.
  11. I'm staying three nights, from July 21-24th. I was looking to get a boutique hotel, the omni, W or something modern since I'm 22 but the Hilton is fine. I'm new here, I don't believe I can change the hotel, am I right? Anyway, I was content with paying $87/nt instead of the original $169. I am willing to pay for an upgrade but not really the $20 per night since parking is $35 per night. Any tips on how to get an upgraded room for cheaper/free? Thanks!
  12.
