Hotwire seems to have a new feature (or one I belatedly noticed for the first time): "What hotel? Here's a hint..." When you do the mouseover, three hotels are shown. I wonder if it will always be the case that one of the three will be the Hotwire hotel. In this case, the Omni was one of the three listed. Interestingly, the Palomar was also listed, which is also pet friendly.

The 4* hotel in the Dupont National Zoo area that is listed as "pet friendly" is indeed the Omni.

I took the 4.5*, which was the Intercontinental. Thanks.

Alas, I tried to book 2 rooms, but HOTWIRE said the rooms were no longer available and the credit card was not charged.

Interestingly, when I tried a search for 2 rooms, the $17 room disappears.

I'm thinking of getting 2 $17 rooms. If it was only me, I would try the $17 room, but my mother and uncle are with me, and I would never hear the end of it, if the hotel was a fleabag. We all know the 2 sayings: "You get what you pay for" and "If it is too good to be true, it probably is." I'll decide in a few days. Many thanks. Using the Hotels.com map and amenities offered in the description as a guide, nothing matches perfectly, but the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham comes closest. The only amenity lacking is the business center. None of the 2.5* has a business center in the description. I don't know if the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham ever comes up in a HOTWIRE listing. I'd be happy with the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham. Thanks.
