  1. I don't know if this helps or not, but I got my bid for $80/night for a 4* hotel in South Beach (Royal Palm) for 01/18/07-01/20/07. This was on January 3rd. Maybe you might have more luck by splitting up your dates.
  2. Failed on the following: $28 convertible $28 suv $28 premium $18 fullsize $16 midsize $15 standard
  3. Just a suggestion, but I think the reason Priceline rejected your bid was probably for one of two reasons. 1. It is too far away for any rental car company to have an accurate inventory this far in advance. Maybe make a regular reservation as a backup and then continue to bid as the time draws near. 2. Your rental period is too long. It might increase your chances to break up the rental period into three distinct periods and try your bid again. I know this is more of a pain, but if you're saving several hundred dollars, it would be worth it. One other thing, I would think you should be able to get an economy car cheaper than $17/day. I realize it's almost impossible to predict, but I have seen people able to get the following rates at TPA. compact: $13/day midsize: $15/day fullsize: $18/day
  4. I'm sorry. This was the Doubletree on 3050 N. Rocky Point Drive West.
  5. Accepted on my first bid. I had attempted a couple of times last week starting at $50, but I was rejected up to $65. They must have just released several rooms.
  6. Got it on the first bid. I tried last week using my free rebids up to $100, and was rejected each time. I might have been able to get it a little cheaper, but I'm happy as it's in the perfect location for me.
  7. Got it on the first try (maybe I could have gone lower). Started with Millenium-Loop-Grant and NMA-River North. Bid $75 for 2 rooms. Accepted.
  8. Well, I know that I need to stay in the Huntington Beach/Newport Beach area on 8/14 (Sunday) because my friend is getting married at the Hyatt in Huntington Beach and I don't want to have to drive far (if at all) after the reception. I tried bidding again for a 4* and was unsuccessful. 8/13-8/15 - $138 rejected 8/14-8/15 - $143 rejected If it gets a little closer and I'm still getting denied, I might drop my star rating. I'll post my results.
  9. No luck for the following weekend either! I bid up to $140 for a 3 or 4 star in NMA or the Loop unsuccessfully. Looks like I'm going to cancel the trip to Chicago.
  10. I started my bid at $85 and rebid up to $125. I'll try again in 3 days. Does anyone know if this is a special weekend? Should I bid higher or should I just wait until it's closer to the dates? Thanks in advance for all your help!
  11. Thanks for all the advice guys! I don't want to stay at O'Hare and I even tried splitting up my dates, to no avail. I'm going to try and move my plane tickets to the following weekend and hope for the best.
  12. Hey guys. I'm taking my family up to Chicago on Thursday 6/9-Tuesday 6/14. I would like to stay at either the NMA or Loop areas downtown but I've extremely unsuccessful with my bids. I've bid up to $170 for a 4*, and I've bid up to $140 for a 3*, unsuccessfully. 1. Is there something special going on this weekend? 2. Should I wait until closer to bid again? 3. Should I try and split up my dates? $170/night is more than I wanted to pay anyway, and I'm hesitant to bid any higher. Any advice/suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.
