-----thereuare, please add this to the hotel listing in California for that region------
VERY expensive for a 2* but there is limited supply and tons of demand this time of year in Carmel/Monterey. Not too happy about anything over $100 normally but this was far less than was being
asked for a hotel that weekend by others. Most had a minimum stay and this one was for only one night.
Only amenity is Complimentary Breakfast.

Those rates are crazy; do you know what was going on in DC that caused them to be so high?!? I've had a lot of success staying in Crystal City at National Airport (just a short Metro ride from DC) when the DC prices are too high.
TravelGuy and thereuare -
Thanks for the encouragement. It did feel good to save mega-$$$ over the "negotiated" rates at the nearby Sheraton for my buddy's wedding. They wanted $129/night + tax. I told my friend that we would use p-line/hotwire and that I could nearly guarantee we would be in 1 of 3 properties (from the list of properties on BB!). He was skeptical but is now a believer. I just emailed the other guys coming to DC for the wedding, too, and told them how to bid.
Long live BB and p-line/hotwire.
Thereuare -
It is the same place. Point Clear and Fairhope are used interchangeably in describing it. My friends just got back from there and it is definitely the only resort in that neck of the woods.
Go Horns! :)
Got it on my first bid. Perhaps I should have bid less.
I believe I found the answer to my own question. Here is the link:
to give better bidding credit for HOTWIRE.
I am not sure what their "official" position is but I have stayed here with FOUR adults! :)
If it is a busy time, they might not have availability for other than a king bed which would mean you could be in trouble. But the key is CHECK IN EARLY and ask for a room with two double beds. Sometimes you can call ahead and have them note it in your record (but they usually will not promise). Do not show up at the front desk with all 3 adults, either. Just one will work; you don't want them to try to charge you extra.
Also, a tip I would give on this hotel...do not park inside the hotel. Too expensive. There is lots of street parking on the street that you get through if you walk through the Enterprise Rent A Car lot (you can't drive through it but you can walk through to see what I'm talking about). After 5 and all day on weekends, these are FREE spots in lieu of the $20/day parking at the Hyatt.
The Hyatt has a reliable shuttle to the Metro and is a nice place but is beginning to show its age. For p-line/hotwire prices, though, it works!

I stayed there in January and it is indeed a nice place! Friendly staff and I got no flack for being a hotwire customer. I got a nice suite with separate living and bed rooms. The bed was one of the best I've ever slept in. Easy shuttle to the airport, too.
Enjoy!
Did multiple free re-bids (included areas where there was only 3* hotels) to try to get a 4* in Paris and it was worth it! This hotel is awesome and really convenient to the nearest Metro, Cour St Emilion, on Paris' most modern and newest Metro line.
I'm sorry but I can't remember the other zones I selected but will post that in the future.

I like this site and am already trying to contribute as much information as possible from my travles to help make the site even more helpful.
My question is how do I help the site get money from my hotwire bookings?
Thanks for the site; it is awesome!
Nope, even though it says "suite" in the name, hotwire does not list the "S" as an amenity. I just double-checked it in "My Account." The thing is, though, the room I got was like a suite (2 rooms), so maybe it should be listed, but it wasn't. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in!
