  1. I have gotten the 2.5* courtyard in the past from $39-$45. I started with 39, added a free rebid, went to $45, added last free rebid and tried $49. Courtyard is $129 that weekend. I can get what I believe to be the Embassy Suites on hotwire for $83, so I will keep trying until I get close to that. Figured I would start low and try every 24 hours.
  2. I am looking at a hotel for Aug 24-26th. If I put in 24th-25th it is $92, if I put in 25th-26th it is $82, but if I put in 24th-26th it is $92. Has anyone booked one night (the cheaper one), then phoned the hotel saying 'Oh I just realized I need a 2nd night, can you honor the rate?'. Do you think it would work?
  3. Just got the Holiday Inn Downtown (on Howe street). for $59 for tonight for last min trip. Was Entertainment District -Fitness/Restaurant/Pool/Laundry/Internet, Marked as Best Value. I am super happy with this win!
  4. Any ideas? 3* Fitness, Restaurant, Pool, Laundry $99 I have tried 4* priceline in the Hollywood area (where I really actually need to be) up to $97 and no go. I dont want to priceline universal city because it includes glendale and I can't be out that far.
  5. Does anyone know if they do a flat rate to go from LAX to a hotel in studio city? Or if not a flat rate, what it might cost (around 3:30 pm on a Thursday afternoon - probably hitting rush hour?). I can use super shuttle for $40 for the 2 of us, but really hate using them, and only will as a last resort. I find they circle the airport forever loading up their van, and 3 hours later you arrive at your hotel.
  6. Hi, I had screencaps of them in here, and I guess I am not allowed to do that, so they were taken away! Oops! Here is what they were... 3* Universal-Burbank Fitness, Pool, Rest.,Laundry,Tennis,Kids Program - $87 2.5* Universal-Burbank Shuttle,Pool,Rest. $82 2.5* Bev Hills/Westwood/Century Breakfast, pool, internet - 96.00
  7. Anyone have any ideas? The first one puzzles me because of 'children's program'. Thanks.
  8. This win was from a bid today. First bid in at 59 and offered to raise by $17, bid at $69 and accepted.
  9. Finally a successful bid! Long Beach 4* WESTIN LONG BEACH Your Offer Price: $69.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $69.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $17.61 Total Charges*: $86.61
  10. OOOPs didnt realize I posted this is priceline. sorry about that....this is a hotwire I am looking to identify.
  11. 3.5* Best Value $109 (January 21st one night) Near Beach, Fitness,Pooh, Restaurant, Business, Internet
  12. Updating that I have gone as high as 59.00 and no win yet. I am going to wait a week and hope inventory is updated.
  13. Oh sorry - that would help. Jan 26-29. I also will add I tried the remaining 2 free rebids this morning up to $55 and nothing - and no counter offer either.
  14. I started at $45 and added a free re-bid of $47. I am thinking it will have to go much higher, because I did not get that counter offer of $12 that people seem to get. I am really hoping for the Hyatt, and it seems the Crowne Plaza will kick in around $51, and I think the $7 resort fee is a rip off! Should I just wait a couple of weeks and try again? I think there is a convention in Anaheim that weekend, and also it is the big High School Musical concert on the 26th (that is why we will be there). Ideas?
  15. Have you tried going directly to the Desert Inn & Suites own page? They have $59 rates on there usually, or a tad higher in busy season. I have stayed there and it isn't fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. Also, right near the conv. center is the Clarion, which is a full service hotel and sometimes AAA rates of $78 pop up there.
  16. No luck for Jan 21st. Tried from 51 and increased with free rebids up to $70. No big rush, so I will hold off and try again in a week. I do have a comfort inn booked for $59, but would love to stay down by the water in a 4*. I figure it is pre-cruise night, so availability won't be as good.
  17. Thanks! It was the Delta Airport! I used your link. Wonderful! Just where I wanted to stay! I love better bidding! Total with taxes/fees was $208.75 for 2 nights! Not bad since AAA rates at the travelodge and Best Western are more than that!
  18. 2 Hotels...Richmond/YVR Airport Sept 2-4 3.5 star/Best Value Shuttle,fitness,swimming,restaurant,bus center,internet access $88 (MAYBE THE VAN DELTA AIRPORT????) 3 star Shuttle,fitness,swimming,restaurant,bus center,laundry $97
  19. WON! For $44 Courtyard By Marriott Seattle North Lynnwood Check-In Date: Thursday, May 4, 2006 Check-Out Date: Friday, May 5, 2006 Lynnwood - Edmonds Lynnwood, Washington 98036
  20. I lowballed a bid of $35 on Lynnwood for May 4th and it was declined (figured it would be) and this came up on the screen... I am sure this has been reported as being seen, but its a first for me... We searched hundreds of options to find your hotel room, however we were not able to find a hotel that would accept your price for $35 per room, per night. Your credit card has not been charged for Request Number xxxxxxx. If you are willing to raise your price by $9, you can try the same request again right now. Normally you are required to change additional items (add zones, star level, or dates) in order to try your request again. However we are able to extend this one-time opportunity to you because of the zone, quality level and dates you requested.
  21. No, I ended up booking direct on the Vancouver and the Disneyland trip I ended up booking direct as well, as I wanted control over where I stayed in the end. I think I did say in those posts that I ended up just sticking a direct booking and not going with priceline/hotwire! Thanks.
  22. May 4th for one night 2.5* Breakfast,Pool,Fitness, Hi Speed $65 Best Value Do you think it is the Courtyard? That would be a good value since its 109.00, vs the Best Western which is $65 on a regular rate right now. Any thoughts? Help? Thanks. Just adding....I just looked and the Courtyard does not have a free breakfast. Possibly la Quinta? Would that be a 2.5*? If it is the BW, its not really a good value at all! LOL Ok adding again....I jsut found on a website that says they DO have a free breakfast now, its "all new". LOL.
  23. I just got my hand slapped for posting a failed bid and not posting the lowest avail rates for my stay. I don't have time to research that crap - plus its on every other frigging post anyway - any idiot can just see what the bids are going for. Its fun to get her in a tizzy. LOL. I thought i would post my failed bid in case anyone was going to bid this weekend and they could see what failed - do I have time to go research rates? NOPE! lol. And after posting over here...I have now been banned. Anyone who has THIS MUCH time on their hands to watch this board and your own, really needs one!
