My guess is that it is the Lincoln City Inn, but does anybody else have better info?
This is the same weekend that the Portland Marathon is going on. My preference was to stay Downtown, but from this hotel it is a short free Max ride to downtown for my run.
Downtown has really limited availability for this weekend.
I started by bidding $55 on a 3* in DT, I was rejected.
I then bid $61 on a 3* in the Convention Center - Lloyd Center area, & I was rejected again.
I then added the South Waterfront District & bid $66, and this bid was accepted.
The best Hotwire could do was a 3* in the same area for $75, but I will not use them anymore and would encourage others here to boycott Hotwire due to their manipulating practices. You can read here about my last experience with HOTWIRE
I did not remember to use the link here to PRICELINE, but will try and remember next time. My bad.
Sorry, I forgot to use the links above to HOTWIRE this time.
Hotwire 2 star property with these amenities:

High speed internet
Check in Sept 16 Check out Sept 18
Hotwire rate $80/night
Fees & taxes $25.50
Total $185.50
Via Days Inn website:

Taxes $16.80
Total $184.80
I think I got taken by Hotwire because you book on Hotwire to save money. I am paying more overall to use Hotwire. I have contacted Hotwire to cancel, they refused. I talked to a supervisor, and he refused to help me. I have talked to people at Wyndham and they don't care. Any advice?
I think that Hotwire basing their guarantee on the room rate only allows them to manipulate what they charge for taxes and fees. Plus the savings listed on their website advertise up to 50% savings. This is less than 5%.
I saw a quote from Hotwire's CEO: If you really care about price, our prices are more discounted than the hotel's website itself.
Please advise me what I may do about this booking. This episode has left me never wanting to do business with Hotwire again. If you advice is I took a risk, bummer, I already realize that. As you can see from my posts here, I am not a Hotwire newby. I am just shocked at the paltry discount.
If this is how Hotwire is going to play the game, then I will never book with them again, and I am telling EVERYONE I know what a ripoff Hotwire is.
Yes, I went through the HOTWIRE link at the top of the page.
No, this was not on the list on San Jose South hotels, so it can now be added.
These are the amenities:
Fitness Center
Pool(s)
Restaurant(s)
High-Speed Internet Access
Spa Services
The cheapest rate for three nights with tax was $378.54 ($111/night without tax).
With tax I am paying $270 total.
Confirmed that this is the Hotel Deca in this thread:
A new hotel to add to the list, though it was correctly identified in this thread:
Listed amenities:
Fitness Center
Restaurant(s)
Business Center
High Speed Internet Access
Tripadvisor.com says it is #56 in Seattle.
We will see.
3 1/2 star property for $65.00 seems reasonable to me.
Booking directly ranged from $98-129/night.
I was on the Westin's website, and this special condition popped up:
The Westin Seattle
Special Conditions
Pool Closure May 3- 31, 2009
Please be advised that from May 3 through May 31, 2009, the hotel pool and whirlpool will be closed for repairs. Please contact the front desk manager for alternate swimming arrangements.
If you look at the HOTWIRE zone boundaries which works best for your needs?
Both are fine.
4/24/09-4/26/09
Just: Seattle (Bellevue North - Redmond).
I did a search for early May 2009, and Bellevue was divided as follows:
Downtown Bellevue Area
3.5 star with smoke free rooms, fitness center, restaurant, business center and high speed internet
3 star with fitness center, pool, restaurant, and high speed internet
and
Bellevue Eastgate - Factoria - Crossroads
3.5 star with smoke free rooms, complimentary breakfast, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, laundry and high speed internet
2 star with complimentary breakfast, restaurant, laundry and tennis
The current Hotwire list says:
Seattle (Bellevue North - Redmond)
Do anyone have any advice?
I decided to see if I could save a little bit more money staying in Medford this time. This hotel is $90/night on redlion.com, and $71/night on HOTWIRE.
My first bid was for $47/night. Priceline rejected it, and said if I added $13.00 to my bid, I could rebid immediately. I passed, and added a free rebidding zone of Grants Pass and a bid of $48/night. Rejected.
I added Ashland, since I would be just as happy staying there for that price, and a bid of $49/night. Success.
Thanks for the site. I used the PRICELINE link to make my bids.
Thanks for the site.
I used the PRICELINE link here.
My goal was to stay in Ashland, but I put down three bids for Ashland, and each was rejected.
This was my first bid for a hotel in Medford.
Hotwire had the same hotel for $69.00/night.
To book directly would cost $90.00/night.
No amenities were listed, and I tried to use the HOTWIRE link here, but Hotwire kept giving me errors.
I doubt that this hotel is really 2*, but we will find out.
This is the old Shanico Inn, and an Elmer's Pancake House is close by.
Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront
Downtown Portland
1401 Sw Naito Parkway
Portland, Oregon 97201
I used the PRICELINE link on the site.
I am going to a show and this is a nice way to end the evening.
The lowest price on the Marriott website is $151.00.
I notice that some people have won this as a three star property, but Priceline said that it is now a 3 1/2 star. So, if this hotel is your goal. please be aware of that.
This used to be the Downtown Days Inn. Not often does a Days Inn become a 4* hotel. If you see this, teresaa, how was it?
Here is an article on the renovation:
I think it would be a nice place to stay if you were attending a show at the Keller (Civic) Auditorium.
A new hotel for the list:
Country Inn Suites Tempe Az
1660 W Elliot Rd
Tempe, Arizona 85284
(480) 345-8585
Complimentary breakfast
Pool
High speed internet access
I checked their website, and the cheapest rate was $125.00/night.
I used the HOTWIRE link on the homepage.
Tried to spend the night in Eugene, but the Ucks have their graduation this weekend.
So I kept on trucking and ended up here:
Travelodge Roseburg 2-star
315 West Harvard
Roseburg, Oregon 97470
I used the PRICELINE link on the homepage. Thanks for providing this website.
Another new property:
Has the following amenities:

Business center
Laundry
High speed internet
The Liaison Capitol Hill - An Affinia Hotel
415 New Jersey Avenue, NW
Washington, District of Columbia 20001
(202) 638-1616
I did not go through the HOTWIRE link on the site, sorry, but I did for another purchase I made yesterday, but have not written up yet.
The lowest rates booking directly were:
First night $252, second night $342
A friend just booked this trip.
The amenities were as follows:
Fitness Center
Pool
Restaurant
High Speed Internet Access
If booked directly, the rate is $149-179/night, from the hilton.com website.
Parking is $15.00/day self park, $20.00/valet.
Thanks again for all of the input. I was going to be in Portland for the weekend, and wanted to stay in that part of town. My plans changed though.
Then the Silver Cloud it is!
Thanks for all of the input.
I have not dedcided what to do. If it is the Silver Cloud, the rack rate is $149.
The AAA discounted rate is $116.
I am holding out hope that rates drop a bit more before the weekend.
Even the Jupiter is $75/night for these dates, which is a discount, it is just what I am used to paying for a 4* property.
Thanks for the research. I am not sure about it being the Holiday Inn Express, because on on Holiday Inn Express' website, they list an indoor pool, and no pool is listed for the property on Hotwire, if that means anything.
If it is the Holiday Inn, the rate their is $175.00/night for that weekend.
I will kindly effort to use the links if I make the reservation.
Hotwire has set up a new area:
Northwest Portland - Goose Hollow
They have the following hotel listed:

Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply.

High-speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply.
The rate is $114/night for a stay from 2/29/08 - 3/1/08
It may be this place:
Inn at Northrup Station
Can anyone please provide further insight?
Or it could be this place, the former Hotel Mallory
It looks to be just inside the border of this new area distinction by Hotwire.
This price was for a room for three adults and one child.
For the same room for two adults, the rate was $54.00 a night.
The amenities now are as follows:
Smoke Free Rooms
Pool(s)
Business Center
Fitness Center
Restaurant(s)
High-speed Internet Access
So Tennis has been replaced as amenity, for Smoke Free Rooms.
The cheapest room at this hotel is $152.00/night, so the HOTWIRE rate is a significant savings.
Thanks for the website.
