  1. wow! this hotel is much better than I knew... wonderful swimming pool, and the creative thing is that they have pool tables and table hocky at the pool side... If you are the member of the hotel chain, free complimentary breakfast, and also kids eat free at dinner ... If you go right trun when getting out of hotel on Rt 82, you will hit nothing but park entrance not for down, and of course you can take I-71-N right away to 2 exits out and left turn, to be at Walmart, HomeDepot ...etc. I even needed to get my doctor to fax prescription over to pick up $4 drug! (thanks Walmart) If you get out hotel try to make a left turn (hard) to Rt 82, then it is huge Westfield managed Southpark Mall that has so trendy food court, brand new furniture, and you got Thai, Japanese, Penda, ...etc, all most all are "white" ... nothing racist, that just answer my puzzle that NYC and NJ are "taken over" by Asian? and where are white American went? here you are! I met a lady born and grown at Florham Park NJ, and now here. Amazing booming town. You got to check out the mall especially the food court to get some hint. Brand new Hullihans' is under construction at outside of Mall and inside one to be moved out even better, if you like this restaurant. There is nice Border across st on the shopping center. You just can't find any restaurant or stores you know not seeing here ... Gas station is right next to the hotel, so it is very convenient... Got to run, after driving over 500 miles today ... will share with you the fantasy of I-80, lots of new construction, new expanding ... new roads ... so cool ... and don't worry about the gas, some nice Pilot 24 hour gas station, huge, at x256, x173 and x118 ... Come bid the hotel and bid thru savingsbarn.com ... ok?
  2. I am glad the hotel is located right at Canal Visitor Center of Cuyahoga Valley National Park which has scenic train ride. It also has the route along Erie Canal which lead to the great development in Greater Cleveland OH area in the good old days.
  3. Strongsville where this nice Holiday Inn Select located has very nice mall off Rt 82 called Southpark Mall which is very close to the hotel and has nice stores like Macy's and auto service from Sears and many good restaurants like Longhorn, Houlihan's ...etc. The town is booming town, many new houses, and there are 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schoos and 1 high school which as a huge marching band performed at Macy's Parade.. It should be nice and safe town to drive around and do some shopping and maybe eat at the food court even if just pass by on I-80 to have a lunch or dinner ... I am also glad to see nice event at this nice hotel and get to know the hotel and town better.
  4. about 9 miles from Cleveland, 26 miles from Akron, 127 miles from Pittsburgh, 346 miles from Chicago.
  5. This Hyatt looks very nice, and I guess that's why it is rated 4*. It is about 16 miles from Downtown Loop of Chicago. Keep in mind there is $17 parking fee overnight, remember to validate at front desk if you need multiple access (was $15). Also that the "room service" drinks, snacks ...etc are expensive, say $3 for a Pepsi can, and if you touch any, it is tied to sensor, and will be charged, so warn your kids in advance. The hotel is huge and could be far from everything, so need to be psychologically prepared. The fitness room is 24 hours. The shuttle to airport is frequent and reliable that you can wait at the curb level of elevator. It is far from everything, so prepare your own snacks, or may be you can take the free shuttle to airport and take the blue line to Downtown Loop (about 30 minutes, and $2 per trip) to eat, there is also subway station about 10 min walk from Hyatt and that's one stop from airport. You can get a subway daily pass if you happen to want to ride subway whole day, will make you feel saved! The room is not big as it is Hyatt, but it is comfortable. Some people got lower, like $45 or even lower depending on the season, but I think $47 is fine with me since it has been renovated as I heard not long ago. If you stay at Downtown Loop, be aware, shuttle from airport is about $25 and tax is $50 so depending on how many people you got to choose. But if you stay at this hotel, you will take shuttle to airport (or walk 10 min to subway blue line station) and take subway to Downtown Loop. With or without car, the plan may be different.
  6. Hi Have you stayed in this Hotel before in Chicago and any feedback? Do you plan to visit and site see Chicago attractions. Will it be easy to navigate from this Hotel for sightseeing I am planning to visit Chicago with Family in August for 4-5 days and want to get the most out of it by not overspending. I thought this Hotel can be bid for an excellent price but was unsure of the location as most people bidding for Downtown or Loop. Thanks for your comments/feedback
  7. I am surprised to be able to get this nice hotel at the same price since 2005... Thanks for the old message! This hotel has been renovated since early 2006, and is very trendy like W hotel... What I really like it is because it is so close to I-80 exit which is about the mid point from New Jersey to Chicago, and right next to it is a mall and shopping center, many restaurants.
  8. Saw it dropped to $89 on weekend, so give it a try on $45, rejected, add some rebid got it at $47.
  9. Bid $45 from 4* down to 3* down to 2.5* and finally got this hotel.
  10. Last time I was there, I got $25. I got the price by accident, so I just had to go ... but, to my surprise, it is one of the best Hyatt I have been, the celing was 14 feet, right at the center of Cleveland. The parking garage is next door but not belong to Hyatt. When we arrived, I went up to 2nd floor the frond desk to check in, then unload all the luggage before driving to the parking garage and walked back. There is a Domino Pizza right at the corner of the block not too far, so if arrived late, that could be a great resource; many people were there even after midnight. If you need to access your stuff in car at parking garage at late night, although the Hyatt and Parking garage are both very safe, the hundred feet or so in between could get you exposed to homeless people. The best strategy is that have $20 bill ready, and if you got blocked by one, just gave him $20...
  11. It was too hot so get another local hotel, but 2.5* on Basking Ridge and $37, as usual, got it first bid. This is very nice hotel, feel home ... Some nice new restaurants nearby, good taste, not very crowd.
  12. Visit Bridgewater Commons Mall, and got some nice stuff from Discovery Store, lots of items 30% off... The food court was very crowd since it was 95 degree outside ... Bought some nice stuff at Champs that has buy one get one free sale ... Went to Boarders nearby to continue reading this "The World is Flat", very interesting. Talk about all major big companies has 24/7 call centers at Bangalor India, and big companies in Japan has call center at Dalien in China, one hour fly north east to Peijing, so Dalien has become the Bangalore of China. Then, JetBlue is doing "homesourcing" rather that outsourcing or offshoring, got entire call center at Salt Lake City that retired grandma and housewives working from home ...etc. So, I feel the next step of this Betterbidding forum may be setting an "outsourced call centers" at Banglaore so that everyone looking to bid PL can call to get assisted cost effectively ... The BestBuy next to Border has lots of new electronics, games, ...etc.
  13. Bid $44 on 3* hotel at Bridgewater and got a counter $12, accepted and got this wonderful Bridgewater Marriott right across street of Bridgewater Commons Mall ...
  14. After visiting DC Zoo at 7am and Natural History Museum at 10am, it was about lunch time and could not sustend any more since the previous night Hyatt Summerfield Suites at Gathersburg MD was sold out and the old way of drop in could not work. So, what was the hotel? Thought could just go to nice 2* Hampton Hill at Dulles to have a cup of coffee and bid on PL, I was totally wrong! It won't work any more, the wireless around are now all protected. Then we found this next door nice new Townplace suites that's the only wireless still comlimentary to visitors, so we went there to bid and got this nice Crown Plaza which was very surprised since we been so many hotels in the area and never heard that one till someone said it was an upgraded and renovated Days Inn. The PL says can check in at 2pm which was about the time, but then it has a huge International Conference, hundreds of Indian families gathered there from all over the world. Dulles seems to be one, other than Atlanta has direct fly to India. So, we went to this nice Chuck E Cheese not far away to have lunch and rest a bid. Somehow, Chuck E Cheese does not provide wireless Internet, but neighborhood has many, so we were able to get on Internet there, which is great. Next time, I would heading here to bid PL since it is now before 11pm to bid on same day and Chuck E Cheese open till 11pm during Friday and Saturday nights. When we finally checked in, we were given a very nice room with good view to a sports park with quite a few soccer fields. The pool was big and nice and kids got great time. The parking lots have one section under the building, very clean and feel very comfortable. The next day we went to this nice PH99 Vienamnese restaurant right next to Chuck E Cheese in the same plaza near hotel for lunch before heading to Georgetown University which has wonderful building and the campus is so clean, can't find a tresh. Many people encountered using wireless Internet are not students there, they are just visitors, and the A/C were so cool, view so nice. May be next time heading to DC could also consider landing here since nearby Georgetown has lots of stores, shopping and restaurants.
  15. The hotel is really nice and convenience on way back from DC after visited Georgetown Univ, UMBC and John Hopskings Univ. Taking I-476-West rather than continue on I-95-North, very smoothly arrive Plymouth Meeting at x20 to West Germantown Pike. Right next to this nice hotel is the Plymouth Meeting Mall, in which a very nice Kings Buffet that we had a nice dinner before checked in. The owner of Kings very nice and charged us only the lunch price since we were the last ones arrived. He is very nice, no wonder, so young and drive Mercedez Benz already... The hotel is right at the uphill and nice as usual. One thing changed is the nice new flat TV, beds are comfortable as usual. The lady I ran into at elevator told me that they are going to be under renovation, all wall paper, carpet, ...etc will be renovated. Cool! should come back here soon to check it out. The next day was extended to 1pm as too tired, but that's good to skip breakfast and lunch and took I-276-East nearby heading directly to this new PF Chang's right off Rt 1 North next to Market Fair Mall at Princeton. Then did some shopping at mall and reading this wonderful book call The World is Flat at the Barnes & Nobel there before heading home to mow the lawn which township inspect every year the first thing right after Memorial Day. This hotel is so great with lots of energy, two years ago coming back from Richmond VA also landed here. That is like you always got a convenient midpoint hotel.
  16. trying to get $42 Residence Inn Conshohoken, counter $12, rejected, add $1, got Courtyard, which is good, just renovated. :)
  17. The event is fantastic. It starts with all kinds of food, Indian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Malaysian, ...etc then followed with dozen or two wonderful performance, dancing, music, kongfu ...etc. and there are also on going stands of many cultural items, info, org ...etc. It is great! never shake so many mayors' hand all in once ... :) Not sure if it is going to be here next year, if it is, this hotel is certainly great place to stay. Last year they were at Bridgewater High School Auditorium, and before that 3 years were at Raritan County College...
  18. Take a look at the photo of last year events, and you will want to come ... http://www.scaahmcc.org/2006/photo-album.html and it is very nice event, and wonderful Somerset Marriott is right across street that you can get for only $33!!! It used to charge $25 to $35, but this year is FREE! I guess they find some more big sponsors ...

  20. It is going to be an Asian Heritage Celebration across street of Somerset Marriott tomorrow 5/20/07 Sunday, so better to live there tonight and may be just walk over tomorrow ... This hotel is so nice with both indoor and outdoor pool connecting to each other, and always $33 ... even if not PL you can still get it at $69, but it is really nice 3* hotel in the area ...
  21. You may start bidding at $44 to trigger PL counter to add $8, and if you accept it, you will get this 3* hotel for $52. If you want to twisted back and forth, the best I ever got is $47.
  22. yes, every Summerfield Suites has complimentary Internet Access as said... Somehow, this does not work any more to bid $32 with $8 counter :) ... So, I just tried $35 to see what happen, but no good! Tried $40 to see, but still no good! However, the website price is now only $78 ... :)
  23. Bid $32 at 2.5*, countered $8, accept it to get $40 ... :) Still better than $37 Courtyard Basking Ridge which costed me $20+ for breakfast ... :)
  24. Just went there and saw the brand new The Village of Bridgewater Commons already opened! Many nice stores, full of cars in the parking lots ... right across this wonderful hotel that you can just walk over ...
