  1. It is very nice this time, and even better, they put us at 6th floor seeing gorgeous view ... so extended one more day and got it at same $38
  2. Bid $35 on 7/27/07 Friday on 2* but rejected, so change a day to 7/28/07 Saturday and increase to $38. Got it!!! :)
  3. I got a wonderful time at this hotel, and I gave each breakfast staff a $20 tip last time I was there, so you know how happy we were ... :) It can walk to Conshohoken Train Station, just two blocks, and take #7 train to downtown Philladelphia, a long to route, you can get off at Temple Univ, Chinatown, City Hall, U Penn ...etc. very convenient. There is also a biking route to Fairmount Park and all the way to downtown, on the other direction, going to Valley Forge Park. It is also very close to Barnes & Nobel Plymouth Meeting where you will find a big shopping center. I got it for $42 last time, but I think $57 still a good deal.
  4. The complimentary breakfast is wonderful, so we decided to add another day, and got it at $45 again.
  5. Somehow I could not duplicate the bid at Sheraton Framingham, as I realized that last night when I arrived that parking lot were all full and the hotel club level all renovated rooms so new so shine ... So, I tried this Dedham area that I got a nice 3* Hilton before (when I tried to get 2.5* Residence Inn and got upgraded) at $42. Then I did not get it but when I lower to 2.5* and increased to $45. I got this Residence Inn, very nice! Well, it is after midnight now, but the parking lot on my side only has 5 cars ... So, this should be a great place to bid ... It is very convenietly located at I-95 x15A and lots of stores nearby, there is also Deedham Plaza and go further Deedham Mall all just minutes away!!! Even better, there is train station Deedham Office Center nearby where you can take train to downtown Boston and maybe transfer to the subway line to many other attractions ...
  6. We were placed at nice unit at Club Leve (6th floor, 5th floor is Starwood Preferred Guest level); everything was so new, and the whole floor is now all renovated, so new so shine. No wonder hotel is so popular!!! The 2nd floor is still under renovation. I love it! It is great hotel, great room!
  7. I never got this hotel thru priceline, but I know people got it since 2005, but the price they have is around $60 for some reason. I guess that's why I always able to get nice 2.5* Residence Inn for $46 at first bid. But now, since it has been under renovation, so maybe the price lower, so when I bid $46 on 2.5*, mine got upgraded to this 3* hotel.
  8. Tring to get the Residence Inn, but got upgraded to this nice Sheraton Framingham which is great! I heard it has been under renovation, and renovated rooms are nice.
  9. On the way back from Chicago, it was a long 350 miles drive and did not leave Chicago till close to dark so arrived hotel around 3am ... :) Front desk was very nice and checked in very quick, and in fact got us a nice 14 ft ceiling room at 1st floor near side entrance, so everything was smooth... (glad I checked out on the way to Chicago and did not get panic on all the road block... :o Check out prompt when wake up the following morning since there were another 460 miles to drive home. Hotel staff were nice... just take Fwy 480 East then very smoothly became I-80-East. So this hotel is also very good mid point hotel since when coming over from Chicago, I-80-East became Fwy 480-East was also very smooth, till get off Fwy 77 and arrived right away. On thing I notice was that dozen of road constructions along I-80 while I was heading Chicago now seemed to be all complete (may be because of July 4), so coming back was much smoother ... :)
  10. Also, Chicago has 5 museums belong to ASTC members, that is to say, member families are FREE!!! Each of them located at very convenience place where one has to visit anyway! Just joined the first one you hit as member if you are not yet to be... (I got mine last year at Yale Peabody Museum, but this year waiting to get it from newly expanded Liberty Science Center to be reopen on July 19, 2007 ...) 1. Children Museum right at the entrance of Navy Pier, so you really can't miss it especially if you got small kids. And keep in mind Wed and Sat nights has great fireworks at Navy Pier. 2 and 3. Nature Museum is at Lincoln Park near FREE Lincoln Park Zoo, and you can park there in the morning and visit all 3, in addition to the north shore, and walk over to visit Surgelogical Science Museum. 4. The other two are at South, one is about 2 miles Fields Natural History Museum that you also got to check out the Shedd Aquarium and another one Plantarium, so hit that 3 in one day, and maybe a nice concert at night. 5. The Museum of Science and Industry is free and about 7 miles south at the shore, we hit that first and felt wonderful, the great underground coal mine was a great trip in addition to many other things. Just park the car at the underground parking. If your kids love skating, ripsticking, skateboarding ... there is a very nice and safe, clean skate board park nearby.
  11. How was the hotel? Next time I go to Chicago, I may want to stay at Naperville area ... and maybe find out the real estate in the area ... Chicago is so nice... :)
  12. We arrived at the hotel close to midnight and that could be a good time to check out if the hotel is crowd or not. There were still some young people chatting outside, and dozen at the pool side seemed to start having a pool side Friday night gathering... The check is was fast as always; the front parking lots seemed to be full, but the rear parking only one car... So, the hotel maybe just half full. The hotel parking is very clean, same as the front. I recall this is the only hotel I know use power wash to clean their front drive every day after guests all checked out. So, you not only see no garbage, cigaratte budds, you see virtually no small rocks nor sands, very clean and shine. Maybe because we were late, we were given a big room with 2 TV's very nice. Again, it is one of the best hotels, and everytime we come, we feel great! very high energy. Free Internet Access, refrig, micro wave, sink, big bathroom with another sink outside. Two double bed plus seperated living room with sofabed. Hotel website shows $129, so for $38, it is really a steal ...
  13. I was right, the previous July 4 weekend, they have huge group of 8 graders of 50 students and 4 adults ... and followed with another group of middle or high school students ...
  14. Going to do ripstiking at Fairmont Park, so decided maybe better to stay one more day, so use the extend feature to see if can get Friday as well. cool! got it at same $38 on 7/6/07 Friday ...
  15. Saw many hotel prices jump, just curious if I can still get this wonderful hotel at min $35. No. I failed, but when I increased to $38, I got it!! :) Still very good! I guess may be after July 4th, travelers back to work?
  16. True. When I stayed at the 2.5* Homewood Suites right next to this 2* Fairfield Inn; I found it was easy to visit New Haven; we are the member of Peabody Museum of Yale Univ, and need to visit it often... I feel your bid could have been improved by staying at 2.5* while including this zone. You may check out the Homewood Suites next door while you are there so that you get an idea what I mean. The price would not be much higher.
  17. We were just arrived in time to catch a newly renovated room, everything is new and nice, but outside is half renovated. So, when you walk in from the front desk, it looks very shine and new like a 3* hotel, then to the middle, it became like 2.5* and when you walk thru the door to the rear, it is like a 2* motel. So, I guess it average to 2.5* (?) So, walk in from front door, and hang on at the nice pool area, ...etc. If you drive to rear and go to your room directly, you will feel like a renovated 2* motel. They bought this hotel and tried to make it a very nice and shine hotel. Hopefully, next time there it will all be done. One good thing is that parking is free and about 13 miles from the loop. Around the hotel, lots of fast food, stores ...etc. very convenient. It is close to North Shore, and if you park the car at FREE Lincoln Park Zoo area ($10 a day), you can visit Nature Museum, Zoo, Surgical Science Museum, and may be rent a bike $8 per hour (min 2 hour) and bike all the way to Navy Pier, very nice view. and stop at nice Drake Hotel to listen to Harp Play and may be grab a nice sweat apple...
  18. Naperville has many Chinese population from Taiwan, so you may find some nice Chinese and Japanese restaurants in the area if you like the food.
  19. And when I checked in late, I got an executive suite which is huge and nice and very private, behind the elevator, most other guest of hotel could not find ... Hotel lobby is very nice, just stay for a few minutes makes you feel so great... Keep in mind if you stay at the loop, parking is going to kill you. Drake $43, Hyatt $41 and Chicago City Center $38 ... to name a few. So, I think this hotel is best bet; there are plenty of vacant parking at night, so that may imply lots of vacant rooms, not that crowd... Chicago is very clean and safe, at least, I feel very comfortable in all places I visit. And, keep in mind that nice Trolley is FREE and loop thru many attractions in Chicago.
  20. You could not get them is because there was a FBLA Natinal Conference at Hyatt, Sheraton, Chicago City Center ...etc and there were about 7,200 students from all of the nation... It just finished 7/1/07, so you should get something now ...
  21. Two more things forgot to mention that are very helpful is that the nice trendy sofa in the room is in fact a sofa bed, so plus a King size bed, it is quite comfortable for a family. Another one is very great idea, they put the Domina Pizza ads and phone on the "card keys", and reverside has small menu (guess frequently ordered items and price of hotel guest), very convenient. Not sure if this is an idea from Domina Pizza or Holiday Inn Select, but I never seen anywhere else. It actually saves some efforts for people like us using hotel over 150 nights a year. We often has to get the info from front desk, and now we save some effort, so is front desk and of course Domino Pizza; guess from the number they know we are the hotel guest. One extra great thing saw at Family Room (other than Men's and Woman's rooms) of Southpark Mall by Westfields at Strongsville OH is that it has everything like a salon, even toilet with two, one big and one small, and lots of other things, including microwave!!! (for milk)... really very helpful!
  22. Since it is on the road, so I checked it out before any surprise on the way back, and I am glad that I checked it out, there is a huge road construction, so when you get to this hotel, you need to do more detours, which is not that hard, just follow the sign, but first time follow GPS and hit the road block, a bit panic ... I also check out the nice Hyatt Place right next to it, very trendy and nice, there are dozen nice hotel in the area, and it is a wonderful expanding town!!! I also check out 2 miles down the road the Canal Park and walk around, very nice ... On the way from I-80-W become I-76-W and then hit this Univ of Akron, so nice, everything new, the student union is fantastic, got you see it for yourself, the Inventors Hall of Fame is right at entrance of UA, and the Speedway store at gas station got 79 cent HUGE (any size same price) icy! Also visited Great Lake Science Museum, about 9 miles away from here, take I-77-North then I-90-E and will follow sign over ... next to it also Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ...etc. Visited before and still very interesting, at 1st floor tells you all about the Great lakes area...
