  1. Appears to be this one: http://www.lq.com/lq/properties/propertyPr...amp;propId=9000 Matches Mall and Restaurants... La Quinta Inn Appleton Fox River Mall Area 3920 W College Avenue Appleton, WI 54914 Phone: (920) 734-6070
  2. Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield 375 South Moorland Rd Brookfield, Wisconsin 53005 262-786-1100 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $42.00 (2 Rooms, 2 Nights) Subtotal: $168.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $33.34 Total Charges*: $201.34 Sorry to report that there is no longer any free re-bids at the 3* level in Milwaukee! The only zone with free re-bids is now Downtown at the 4* level. Won this on my first bid and was surprised since the going rate for these dates is $141.50. It's opening day for the Milwaukee Brewers - and - the game is a sellout.
  3. Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport Ft Lauderdale Airport (FLL) 1825 Griffin Rd Dania, Florida 33004 954-920-3500 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $90.00 Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $18.54 Total Charges*: $108.54 In researching for this bid, I noticed that the 3* Wyndham (formerly Hilton) hotel in your Hotel List is now a Hilton again!
  4. This hotel is the old Amerisuites so you can remove that hotel from the hotel list. They did a really nice job remodeling this hotel when they re-branded it. We were here on Superbowl Sunday and were very pleasantly surprised to see a new 42" flat panel LCD TV. It was a great game and even better on the large HD TV! With the declining prices of LCD TV's, the energy savings alone are going to cause many hotels to consider this upgrade.
  5. This hotel is a great deal again! The Sheraton has just completed an entire hotel renovation and have upgraded the hotel with new carpet, paint, fixtures, lights, etc. They've also installed new flat panel HD TV's in every room with HD video service on the local channels, ESPN and perhaps other channels. The TV in our room was a 32" LG and the HD reception was great! Well done. We'll be back!
  6. As we were leaving, we were presented with a bill for a "resort fee" of almost $8/day including taxes. It's absurd and I would have fought it, but we were on our way to NASA for the space shuttle launch, and I wasn't about to let this spoil our day. As long as this hotel is on Priceline as a 3*, I'll avoid this zone. I'll just bid "resort" in this zone and if unable to get one, I'll bid other zones. There are so many hotels in Orlando that there is no reason to put up with this hotel. It was kind of funny, as we were leaving we noticed they seem to be replacing many of the room doors (maybe all?). With so many other things that are really in need of repair, I think I would have taken care of some of the others first - eg. the outside entry doors whose locks are totally non-functional left me wondering about building security? Maybe it's all in the plan...
  7. First bid - $42 - I hate when that happens - Ha Ha... Two nights @ $42 = $84 + taxes fees of $18.85 = Total $102.85 This is the first time we've won this hotel and were concerned based on reviews, however I must say we were treated very well by desk staff and are happy with the room we received. Room is clean and meets our needs. They didn't have a king available, but upgraded us to a room with two Sleep Number Beds. The room includes a small refrigerator. For $42 it seems like a pretty good deal. The best web rate for the same room for a two-day stay is $83/day. One day stays seem to be $129-$139 per day.
  8. Thanks - that's a pretty good deal, but I had already done this PL bid: Melbourne Hilton Bid The EasyClickTravel site indicates that if I was doing this hotel, that I am within the one night cancellation penalty. I assume there is always a one night penalty for opaque properties on Easy Click - is that correct? Also your LastMinuteTravel link isn't working for me... may be a problem with the affiliate site?
  9. It's kind of strange, but for Feb 7th and 8th, the Holiday Inn site shows this hotel as "Sold Out", but it appears to be on EasyClickTravel at $48.55. I had bid 2.5* up to $65 and 3* up to $85 for those dates with no success. Never thought to check EasyClickTravel... note to self... Does EasyClickTravel have rooms set aside or is this just over booking and you'll likely get walked?
  10. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $55.00 Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $21.10 Total Charges*: $131.10 Got this one on the first bid. I hate when that happens :) Started my bid at savingsbarn.com
  11. Atlanta (Marietta) Hyatt Regency Suites Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $49.00 Subtotal: $49.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.49 Total Charges*: $63.49 So many rebids at 3*... So I brute forced 13 bids starting at $37, increasing a dollar/bid. At $43 got a $12 counter, then $13 counters at $45 and $47 before winning the bid at $49. Thereuare - A heads-up, the NORTH CENTRAL ZONE shown in the hotel list for Atlanta no longer exists. Started the trip at the savingsbarn.com...
  12. Louisville (East) Hyatt Place Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $43.00 Subtotal: $43.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.79 Total Charges*: $56.79 Turned down on bids of $39, $40, $41, $42 with counter of + $12 at $41 and $42 This is the re-branded Amerisuites so you can remove the Amerisuites from the Louisville (East) hotel list. Started the trip at savingsborn.com ...
  13. There is a large convention in Orlando Feb 13-16, 2008, with 105,000 attendees. It's also the week of the NASCAR races in Daytona. I'm guessing hotels will just cost more this week due to the heavy demand.
  14. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $42.00 Subtotal: $42.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.37 Total Charges*: $55.37 Bid $39, $40 Milw. Brookfield - Rejected Bid $47 Milw. Pewaukee - Rejected Bid $42 Milwaukee Brookfield + Milw. Pewaukee - Accepted at the Sheraton. The only 3*'s I have won in these zones are Brookfield Sheraton and in Pewaukee - Marriott Milw. West. The Marriott is a nicer hotel but the Sheraton has been going at low bids lately. My next bid would have been $50 in the Pewaukee zone. Started the trip at savingsbarn.com. Thanks!
  15. I was just adding this past years Priceline wins to my personal PL database when I noticed the star rating on this hotel had changed from 4* to 3*. When you go to Priceline's "MyTrips" it shows you a list of you wins including the star level of each hotel. For this reservation it showed it as 4*, which is what it was when I made the trip. Clicking the link to see the details, and it now shows it as a 3* with the correct bid amount, etc. Then when you go back to the MyTrips list, it now shows that reservation as a 3*. Interesting It's too bad as this was a great hotel and being the only 4* in Mrytle Beach, one could get it every time. The highest star rating available for bid today is 3* although that could change in the future. You may want to update the Hotel List.
  16. Winning bid of $55 with taxes and fees of $15.52 for a total of 70.52. Bids of $45 and $50 were losers... Started the trip at www.savingsbarn.com!
  17. Won this at $45 after losing bids of $35 and $40. These were bids for a stay the next day. Taxes and fees of $14.41 for a total of $59.41. This is a very nice "business class" hotel. A bargain at $45 and an even better deal at $35! Started the trip at savingsbarn.com!
  18. This is a new hotel for the list. It's in the Research Triangle Park zone - Hilton Raleigh Durham Airport At Research Triangle Park. Won the hotel with a $45 bid after being rejected at $40. The hotel is listing rates of $109, $109, $189 for these three days. Three days @ $45 = $135 plus $26.35 taxes and fees, total $161.35. Started bidding at www.savingsbarn.com!
  19. Bid for a 3* and was upgraded to the 4* Sheraton at the Convention Center. Actually would prefer one of the 3*'s on the beach, but it's the chance you take to save on Priceline. The web rate for these dates is $139 so it is a nice win! $44 for two nites - $88, plus $18.62 for a total of $106.62. Last unsuccessful bid was $41 so perhaps $42 or $43 would have been enough. Started the bidding at www.savingsbarn.com. Thanks!
  20. Bid accepted at $65/night - 3 nights. Total $195 plus $36.30 taxes and fees - total $231.30. Last rejected bid was $60. Rates on Hyatt site for the three days were $151, $151, $294. Parking is Valet only at $17/day and internet is $10. Overall a nice win which began at www.savingsbarn.com!
  21. Oops - it's 2.5* not 3* - my mistake... It needs to be fixed in forum topic and hotel list. Sorry
  22. In the Jacksonville Beach - Mayo Clinic zone I bid $38, $40, $42 and was finally accepted at a bid of $46. Three nights at $46 - $138.00 plus $26.91 taxes and fees - total $164.91. This hotel is very isolated being the only hotel located on the Mayo Clinic Campus. There is virtually no traffic in the area and most guests are probably associated with the Mayo Clinic. The grounds are park like. The hotel is located near the Jacksonville beaches and area shopping. This is the best Courtyard I have stayed at - and I'd be very happy to get it again. There is only one free re-bid at the 2.5* level so I took a chance by using Amelia Island and Downtown for re-bids. Downtown has 1, 2 and 3 *-s but no 2.5* and I was pretty sure I wouldn't get a 3* Downtown at these prices. Amelia Island has a 2.5*, but I thought it might be more expensive - and I wouldn't mind staying on the island if they would have accepted my price! Priceline has changed the name of this zone to "Jacksonville Beach - Mayo Clinic". I started the trip at the SavingsBarn.com! Thanks...
  23. I know this trip is long over, but thought I'd add this tip for those who might be interested in the future. The new "light rail" in the Minneapolis area gives you another nice option when attending events at the Metrodome or other downtown locations. The Metro Transit Hiawatha Line runs from the Mall of America to downtown, including the Metrodome, and provides easy access at a very reasonable cost and avoids all the parking hassles downtown. Here's a link to the Metro Transit Hiawatha Line (Route 55) http://www.metrotransit.org/rail/
  24. I was kind of surprised to win this bid. We stayed here the past 3 days on a $45 bid based on a $89 rate. It was a last minute bid and I didn't want to take a chance of not getting a room we needed because we under bid it so I used a number I was pretty sure would win. We decided to stay an extra few days, but the Courtyards daily rate increases to $124 during the week. I bid $41 on a lark - and it was accepted! Taxes and fees $18.73 - total $100.73. Very happy with the win. As always, started the trip at www.savingsbarn.com... thanks!
  25. This is a pretty nice Courtyard - completely redone with in 2006. Our room had new carpet, beds and bedding, desk, wall paper, etc. Essentially like a new hotel... very nice. We extended one day at the $45 rate to stay thru 1/8. The hotels web rate for these days is $89.
