Any zone except 10, 8, 7, 11. South San Francisco and further south. Can you suggest a starting bid I should make for the zones in the city (Union Square, Nob Hill, etc)?

I always use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE to start bidding (thanks). My husband and I decided a couple of days ago to use an airline reward to go to San Francisco for a few days. I'm looking for guidance on what I may need to bid up to on PRICELINE. HOTWIRE looks pretty expensive. We want to stay in the city area because we aren't going to get a car. We would like to spend $150 or less, but will go up to $200. I also wonder if a 3* in San Fran is equivalent to other cities I book hotels in Atlanta, St Louis, Cincinnati, and other places in the East. Any suggestions appreciated.

Used PRICELINE link to bid. 1st bid of $50 in Evansville rejected. Free rebid offered at $62 which I took. The cheapest 3* on HOTWIRE was $71. Holiday Inn Evansville Airport 7101 Us Hwy 41 North Evansville, IN 47725 812-867-7999 Stayed there in February and it was pretty nice.

Sorry, forgot to use the PRICELINE link to rent a car since I don't rent cars that often. Dollar and Thrifty showed $118 and $204 after fees. Enterprise showed $121/$206. What's up with all the taxes and fees that almost double the price? Saw I had a Priceline reward of $5/day. Wanted a fullsize, but thought I would start with a premium and bid $15. Priceline told me that I should bid $27 for a good chance and $28 for a great chance. I bid $15 for a fullsize and won with Avis. 5 days at $15 = $75 Taxes and Fees = $82 Total = $157

I tried to extend on 5/9/12 my two day $65 reservation by one day at the Crowne Plaza in Louisville SDF I made on 5/8/12, but was rejected and offered $108. I decided to start my previous bidding again using the slater195 experience. 3.5* Downtown $52 Galt House Hotel 3½ star Louisville Downtown 140 N 4Th St, Louisville, KY 40202 502-589-5200 I called the hotel and they said valet at $12 was the best. I'll look for street parking or a nearby lot.

FYI, I tried this morning to extend the reservation by 1 day and was denied. I was directed to a page that said the lowest price was available is $108.

Used the PRICELINE link. Started at $60 in West for 3*. Added Washington (only 2*) at $65. I ended up going to www.extendedstayhotels.com and booked a queen studio suite for $56.99 using the AAA rate and was cheaper than the other travel sites. I just learned this board has an link for ExtendedStay Hotels in the Support Page.

Not pleased. My husband (who I book for) says it's a crappy hotel that looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80's. 2* and below are not the way to go, but that was all that was available. Maybe the Republican Primary took up the rooms?

Used HOTWIRE to find a hotel with an airport shuttle, preferably in Westport. There was a hotel at the airport for $54 that is probably the Holiday Inn on Woodson. Used HOTWIRE to extend my stay by one day. The hotel is OK, but has comfortable, Posturpedic beds. The breakfast buffet is varied and has real, not powdered, scrambled eggs, fresh pancakes, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, fruit, pastries... for $9.95 The price went down from $54 to $53. Hazelwood has only 2*, so no. Do you think Chesterfield would have airport shuttles? The airport locations may be OK depending on how hard it is to get in and out Wed night and Thu. Thanks for the help.
