  1. Used PRICELINE link. Also used the HOTWIRE link, but the lowest price for a 3.5* in my desired areas was $66. Crowne Plaza Memphis East 2625 Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Memphis , TN Looking for a 3.5* in East or Southeast. Thought I would start very low since the median retail price for a 3.5* in Memphis Southeast was $100 and a 60% savings makes the target $40. I doubted I would win, but figured I would try. I kept the other areas to 2.5 or 2* in case I decided to go down to a 3*. Left out Downtown which is 4* but I didn't want to be upgraded given the high parking prices. 3.5* 9 $40 8 $43 1 $46 5 $48 6 $51 10 %53 11 $55 12 $56 16 $57 WON
  2. Used PRICELINE link to start Crowne Plaza Memphis East 2625 Thousand Oaks Blvd, Memphis TN Southeast (9) 3.5* $50 offered free re-bid of $65 East (8) $52 1 $54 5 $55 6 $56 10 $57 won
  3. Used PRICELINE to start. Crowne Plaza Memphis East 2625 Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Memphis , TN I wanted a 3.5* in East (8) or SouthEast (9), but was willing to go down to 3* in either area. I wrote down all the max stars for each area and crossed out the areas with a high of 3* I didn't want to get in case I went down from 3.5* to 3*. I also didn't want to stay downtown (business trip outside that area) or MEM, so those were out. I used the areas with 2* and 2.5* as bidding backups. 9 3.5* $55 offered a free re-bid for $72 8 $57 1 $58 5 $60 6 $61 went down to 3* and bid $61 again 10 $63 Won
  4. I went back to PRICELINE check if my initial $45 bid for a 3* in Memphis East (8) would trigger the same page I saw mentioning the 2 hour period. I tried to do a print screen and upload it, but couldn't figure out how. Probably best to show the text. I made sure to be anonymous. We Want You To Get Your Hotel Room Based on past priceline customer requests for hotels in this area, your offer price of $45 has only a small chance of being accepted. You should, as a general guideline, expect to pay an average price of $129 per night for a 3-star hotel in the Memphis, TN area if you called the hotel directly. Remember - we will only accept one request for the same star level, city area and dates in a 2 hour period. So if you need a specific zone or star level - be sure your first offer price is your best price! This is a great development, if true, since they used to make you wait 72 hours, then 24.
  5. Used PRICELINE link. I bid $50 and they offered me a free re-bid of $67 and that I would have to wait 2 hours to bid again for the same star level and area. Wasn't it 24 hours in the past? 9 $53 1 $55 5 $58 6 $60 Won

  7. Used PRICELINE to start, but lost the bidding after going up to $68 for a 3.5* so went to HOTWIRE. It happened again that I won a hotel I had blocked on Hotwire. La Quinta Inn & Suites Memphis Primacy Parkway 1236 Primacy Parkway, Memphis, TN 38119 I called Hotwire Express and got the charge refunded (2 business days) plus my $25 Hotbucks from 7/30/15 reinstated. The representative was very nice and suggested I always log into my account (I did) and shut down my computer when I'm done (don't do that). They saw me accessing the site on a mobile device. I'm using a laptop with Wi-Fi, so maybe that's mobile. I booked a different hotel, but now I'm wary of booking on Hotwire in East Memphis. 10. Used HOTWIRE link to start La Quinta Inn & Suites Memphis Primacy Parkway 1236 Primacy Parkway, Memphis, TN 38119 This hotel was blocked by me at Hotwire Express a few months ago, but was unblocked for who knows why. Last week, Hotwire gave me a $25 Hotbucks credit for a future reservation. Today (7/29/2015), I got the same hotel again! Called them and they cancelled the res and put the Hotbucks back. They said 72 hours for the credit card credit to take affect. Customer service was quick to answer. Ended up using PRICELINE link and will use HOTWIRE link later.

  12. I figured I may top out at $60 or $61 to get a hotel in East or Southeast Memphis. Here's my history of bidding. Tell me if I need to stop reporting this. 8 $40 1 $43 5 $45 9 $48 12 $50 16 $53 10 $56 11 $58 WIN Hilton Memphis 939 Ridge Lake Boulevard, Memphis , TN
  13. Used PRICELINE link and started bidding at $40. Hilton Memphis 939 Ridge Lake Boulevard, Memphis, TN
  14. This hotel is on a large area of property and has undergone a 7million renovation. Too bad they didn't spend some of it on installing a larger elevator. You're upcharged if you want a king bed rather than 2 queen beds. It's in the "downtown" area, but you have to drive or use the hotel shuttle ($5 per person) if you want to go downtown. The $10.95 all you can eat breakfast was OK, nothing stellar. People travelling on business probably wouldn't care for the hotel since it is so spread out. I can't complain too much, given the price and free parking, but just wanted to give my feedback. I think I will bid on a 3* the next time and hopefully get a better location.
  15. This was a great hotel. I think it opened Feb 2015. It's 2 blocks from the convention center where we were attending a graduation. Also, walking distance to Starbucks and lots of other shops, restaurants, and bars so we didn't have to use our car once we parked in the hotel's free parking lot.
