Wanted to stay at Parksville, but this is the only hotel available on Hotwire. No hotels are available on Priceline and Expedia.
This is the only hotel showed up when I did the search so that's how I knew which hotel I am staying.

The junior suite is kind of small, but the resort has a private beach.
Started bidding 4* from $110, then add the free re-bid zone (including Victoria Airport Area even though they have 4* hotel available, but I knew that I would never win at this price because the 4* hotel in this zone is at least $300).
After trying add the re-bid zone and $5.00 increase of every bid, tried for few days, at some point, it offered me $148, I declined. Then I won the hotel at price of $130.
Before I start to bid the hotel, I would compare all the 4* undisclosed hotels on Hotwire, Priceline and Expedia. At that time, they all showed 4* Ocean Property around $148 (regular price $189). So that's how I know I would get this property because other 4* price are more than $148.
Very happy with the winning, tried to extend the stay at the same price, but hotel can only offered me the rate at $169+.
Thank you for your reply.
I click the HOTWIRE link and changed the currency to USD.
It shows $106 per room per night, 3*, Downtown Bellevue area hotel.
Thanks!
BTW, it's $107.49 per night, 70% Hotwire customer review. 3.0 out of 5 with Trip Advisor.
I was thinking maybe it's Red Lion Bellevue, but the Red Lion Bellevue doesn't offer free breakfast.
Hi,
First time to use Hotwire, as I need to book a room for 4 adults. The Priceline can only guarantee the room based on 2 adults.
Traveling date is July 13-16/12.
As there are not many recent posting of 3* Downtown Bellevue hotles, would you please identify the following for me?

Tried $45, then reject and offer $11 increase to $56. Didn't accept it.
Tried again $47 by adding Kirkland, reject again.
Tried again $48 by adding Lynnwood, reject again.
Later bid $50 and got accepted.

Red Lion Hotel was what I expected. Used PRICELINE link. Expedia listed $85.
Thanks for the information.
Unfortunately I check the policy and my reservation can not be cancelled because it's over 7 days since I booked.
Hate to see bonus cash gone waste!
Btw, do you know how the bonus promotion works? Cuz it seems like everytime I booked something then I get the bonus e-mail next day!!
Like last week after I booked my Las Vegas hotel, I got the $5 per day bonus cash the very next day!!! :)
Hi,
I want to bid through PRICELINE by using the bonus cash of $3 per day which will end today.
I already booked a full size for $25 per day (including tax) with other Avis but I can cancel.
My question is, if I bid $20, how do I know if it won't end up more thatn $25 per day? Is there a calculation for the tax and other fees?
and can I re-bid if it rejct my bid?
Thanks!
I have decided to go for other hotel on other website as I did not get the price I want on PRICELINE.
Thank you for all the help.
Note that there are other 3.5* properties in this zone beside the Marriott. When bidding 3.5* in San Diego you have NINE re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please see this thread: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained
Feel free to confirm your re-bid zones with the board OR if you're confused by the above just post back and we'll break it down further for you. Once we know your have a grasp of your re-bid zones let us know your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.
Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
Yes, I tried the re-bid for $55 (I saw someone got winning at this price) but still got reject.
Why it didn't counterbid? is it because of the long weekend? I'll try for $58, if not success, I'll try another zone & hotel.
Thanks for the reply.
I tried to bid $50, but got rejected. I am only interested in Mission Valley area.
Is there a way to re-bid with the same setting? or I have to wait for 24 hours?
thanks!
Just found this web site today. Very helpful.
But I am trying to book Marriott Mission Valley on Priceline for Sept 15-19/10
Priceline offer these 3 hotels under 3.5 stars:
San Diego (Mission Valley)
3.5* DoubleTree Mission Valley tripadvisor review
3.5* Hilton REVIEW / tripadvisor review
3.5* Marriott Mission Valley REVIEW
I do not wish to stay at the Hilton as it has bad review. I would like to stay at the Marriott.
What is the trick to bid so that I can make sure I don't end up at Hilton?
Thanks!

Started at $17, then $19, offered $24 and took it.
Didn't want to wait for rebid as the travel date is less than 48 hours.
Total is $165.30, saved 37%
compared other car rental companies and Avis website, the total is at least $200+ for a standard
