  1. I ended up cancelling this reservation after reading the awful reviews of this hotel. Apparently hotel is also a homeless shelter. Reviewers complained of bed bugs, the loud freeway, unclean, smelly rooms and hallways and sketchy characters. Didn't think it would be safe for me and my family and just don't want to chance it.
  2. Hotwire Hot Rate Hotel for $108/night. Including taxes and fees, total $131.93. Amenities include: free breakfast, free internet, free parking, golf nearby, kitchenette, pet-friendly, self-service laundry, suite Used BB's HOTWIRE link.
  3. It was free parking, free internet, free breakfast, indoor or outdoor pool, non-smoking. It is currently being offered as a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for check-in tomorrow, 3/14 and check-out 3/15 as Quality Inn Santa Barbara for $81/night and those are the amenities associated with it. Hope that helps.
  4. They allowed a bed choice and the amenities were - Air conditioning Alarm clock AM/FM radio Cable television Coffee/Tea maker Free Continental breakfast Desk Free high speed internet connection Hairdryer Handicap rooms Ice machine Iron Non-smoking Free Outdoor parking Outdoor pool Pay per view movies on TV Refrigerator Telephone Wireless internet connection Oh and not mentioned in the amenities, but our room also had a microwave included.
  5. Used BB's PRICELINE link and booked this PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for this past weekend's trip. Typical motel, but great location, central to downtown, The Mission, Natural History Museum and UCSB. Good Indian Restaurant (Flavors of India) and Italian Restaurant (Giovanni's) across the street. Nice Thai (TAP Thai) restaurant a short walk away. There's also a Coffee Bean across the street and Trader Joe's next to it. Very convenient. Motel had free continental breakfast with cereals, pastries, muffins, bagels/cream cheese, breads/butter, yogurt. But also had biscuits and gravy, a make-your-own waffle station and scrambled eggs. Also drinks...orange and apple juice, milk and coffee. Other amenities include, free internet, free parking and a small outdoor pool, which we didn't use since it had too many leaves in it and didn't look that clean. But overall we had a good stay and the staff was nice and helpful.
  6. Update: This hotel also charged a $29 self parking or $33 valet parking fee. But for the entire month of October, kids eat free at their Market Cafe with a paying adult. The weekend breakfast buffet was excellent!
  7. Bid was actually for $105, but received a $3 hotel credit fee after winning the bid. Total Priceline cost with taxes and fees $123.25. There is an additional $26 hotel fee to be paid at the hotel. Amenities include Free Internet (In Room), Pet Friendly, Outdoor Heated Pool, Spa, Non-Smoking, Gym, Handicap Accessible, Business Center. Used BBB's Priceline link. Looking forward to staying at this hotel for the first time.
  8. Started at $65 for 4* in this area. Used lower re-bid zones, increasing by $1 increments and later added Coronado and Downtown Marina until was accepted at $80/night. Total for 3 nights including $41.40 for taxes and fees is $281.40. Used BB's PRICELINE link. We're looking forward to staying at this Gaslamp hotel for the first time.
  9. $61 per night ($74.81 total inc. taxes and fees) free internet boutique hotel smoke-free rooms fitness center pool(s) restaurant(s) business center self-service laundry internet access accessible for visually impaired accessible for hearing impaired accessible path of travel in-room accessibility accessible bathroom accessible parking roll-in shower Used BB's Hotwire link for booking.
  10. Started bidding at $90 and used re-bid zones and got accepted at $110. Total including the $5 travel insurance, taxes and fees = $137.52. Please note that this City Zone is actually now called 'Universal City - Studio City' Used BB's PRICELINE link.
  11. Started bids at $60 for 4* then added 3.5* rating and was accepted at $75, after using the numerous lower star bid-zones in the area. This was $10 lower than the 3.5* express deal. Total for 2 nights $179.14 ($75/night + $29.14 for taxes and fees). Used BB's PRICELINE link.
  12. Started bidding at $55 for 4* & 3-1/2* hotels. Used the many lower-star hotel zones in the OC area to re-bid up to $70 and was accepted. Taxes & Fees $17.08. Total $87.08. As always, used BB's PRICELINE link.
  13. First bid accepted at $75 ($92.57 total including taxes and fees). Very happy with the win and looking forward to staying at this beautiful hotel again. Use BB's PRICELINE link.
  14. Started bids at $40 for 3-1/2* & 3* hotels. Increased to $45 and was accepted. (saved 69% according to Priceline) Taxes & Fees $13.99. Total $58.99. Amenities include: Complimentary breakfast, free wi-fi, indoor pool, fitness center, underground garage parking is $10, which isn't bad compared to other downtown hotels. Used BB's PRICELINE link.
  15. Since I got such a previously great Gaslamp/Conv. Center deal, thought I'd give it a shot and try to bid for a good deal during Comic-Con weekend. Started with 4* & 3-1/2* hotels in that area at $75, then increased in $5 increments, adding other areas with only lower star ratings. Didn't even think I would get anything close to this price range, much less a 4* hotel at this rate, especially during Comic-Con, when all the downtown hotels are really pricey and usually fully booked. It's also lower than the 4* hotel Express Deal that Priceline is offering at $132/night, so I'm pleased with the deal. Looking forward to that Sunday's Con and to checking out the Westin. And learning the ropes here and used the BB PRICELINE link this time. :D
  16. Yay! Those updates will be great and very helpful. Also, since this hotel is new to your database, I've stayed there before and it's located directly across Seaport Village, with great City or Bay Views, and close to the train station. The New Children's Museum, Gaslamp and Convention Center are within walking distance or a short, inexpensive trolley ride away. You can also walk to the USS Midway Museum. And like all Embassy Suites, all the rooms are 1-bedroom suites, so there's a ton of room. They also have daily complimentary full-breakfast buffets and afternoon cocktails, beverages and snacks, which is why I am so glad that this was the hotel I received. My family is definitely looking forward to the breakfast and the indoor pool. Only downside is there is no self-parking and they charge $35 daily for valet parking, but then again, all hotels in downtown SD charge for parking. Hope that helps.
  17. Thank you! And in case it will be helpful to future bidders, I won this hotel by checking, more specifically, the Gaslamp Quarter - Convention Center area, #6 on Priceline's list. Also, just fyi, my first bid at $80 for 4* hotel in this area was rejected.
  18. Completely happy to win this deal at $75/night ($92.48 total including taxes and fees). It's the exact hotel I was hoping to get. Thank you BB & PRICELINE.
