  1. Joehotel, how many people is your reservation for? My search revealed $109 for 2 Adults for 4* Downtown, which is most likely Sheraton Marina. I'm curious. To close this thread, today I booked 1 room for 1 night on Oct. 18th for 2 Adults, 2 Children - 4* in Gaslamp Quarter and got Hotel Indigo for $122/nt. I also booked a 2nd room for 2 nights Oct. 18-20th for 2 Adults, 1 child - same Hotel Indigo for $122/nt. Boutique Hotel Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) High-speed Internet Access Thank you for providing me with lots of info & tips to help with my Hotwire purchase.
  2. Re:Sheraton Marina - yes, would rather be "downtown" and not by Harbour Island. Seems like from the reviews that the property assigns rooms in the older Bay Tower for Hotwire/Priceline guests and it's not really 4*. How often do they change hotels on Hotwire? I'm thinking I have some time before my trip in Oct. to see if the choice of 4* hotel might change. Good strategy or not?
  3. I contacted the hotel directly and was assured that children are accepted at this hotel. The HOTWIRE receipt specifically says 2 Adults and 1 Child. I trust that Hotwire would not book children into a hotel if it is an "over 21" hotel. Some hotels won't let people "under 21" book & stay if they are the primary person on the reservation. In my case, the child is accompanying me and unfortunately I'm waaaaay over 21! :)
  4. July 17, 2010 booked for 2 Adults and 1 Child 3*, Long Beach (San Pedro), Crowne Plaza Los Angeles, $82 ($79 if only 2 adults) for 5 nights Oct. 20-25, 2010: Amenities Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Attending a wedding at Crowne Plaza and guests offered a rate of $129/nt. Took a chance that Hotwire hotel is the same as wedding venue and lucked out! Other hotel possibility in San Pedro is Doubletree but Amenities are different.
  5. Can you tell me what this icon means - square (orangeish) with the bottom right corner peeled back that is next to the topic listings on the Forums? I noticed my postings don't have this icon. What does this mean? When I hover over the icon, it says "Goto first unread" if that helps you. Thanks.
  6. search on Hotwire now revealed the following for 2 Adults and 1 child for October 18-20, 2010 (2 nights), 4*: $113 but I've seen it for $109 for the same amenities in last week for Downtown: Smoke Free Rooms Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby - Property is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one tennis court; an extra charge typically applies. What is this property? Gaslamp District has this listing, $124, same nights: Boutique Hotel Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) High-speed Internet Access What is this property? Would also like help in deciding which area to stay in, Downtown or Gaslamp? Will be going to San Diego Zoo for one day & Segway Tours of Gaslamp. Is anyone aware of any major conventions or events happening in SD during this time. Thanks for your input!
  7. July 21, 2010 - booked on Hotwire for 2 adults and 1 child. $59, October 15-18, 2010 (3 nights), Four Points by Sheraton at LAX (3*). Amenities Smoke Free Rooms (Sheraton family of properties are all 100% non-smoking in rooms and public areas) Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access (complimentary) Found out from hotel - extra $16/day for self-parking & $21 for valet. ACE Car Rental is in hotel lobby and Budget across the street. Can use Budget shuttle if Four Points one is full! I'm hoping that being a SPG Gold member will get me extra privileges and upgrades that I usually get at other 4 Points, Sheraton and Westin properties. Crossing my fingers! Booked last year through Hotwire and stayed at 4 Points in Emeryville(San Fran.) and front desk gave me an upgraded room. I did not encounter bad attitude for booking through Hotwire.
  8. July 27, 2010 - booked on Hotwire, 2 Adults and 2 children. Previous hotels listed were Days Inn, Comfort Suites or Holiday Inn Express. Now Clarion on Transit Road. AMENITIES Airport Shuttle Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Today on Hotwire, $109 for 2.5* with Suite Icon, perhaps Comfort Suites. Since I'm new to the Board & Hotwire, I'm not sure if my $99 at Clarion is a good deal. Please update your Hotwire hotel list in New York forum with Clarion as a possibility. Will provide review after stay as I can't find a good review on this Board. Mixed reviews on TripAdvisor. Thanks for this very handy site to provide information to make informed decision on Hotwire purchase!
