  2. Won this hotel for two nights, two rooms 8/29/11 to 8/31/11 @ $95 per room againnst hotel rate of $319 per room per night. Deal is great even given some of the negative reviews for the hotel.
  3. Won this hotel using your PRICELINE links - 8/31 - 9/4 - 2 rooms - $69 per room per night, against advance website of $134. Happy with this. Need to be at LA Airport for Sunday flight to JFK. Did look at going downtown, but thought I'd keep the extra $ in my pocket and drive to theme parks, etc
  4. Won 4*Mgm Grand Hotel Casino Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South 8/26 - 8/28 - $90 per room per night - should be $127 per room per night - happy with that

  7. Went back to Priceline in advance of your reply, pitched @ $90 per night and won, so very happy at that given rate with hotel is circa $300. Thanks. Now back to booking my usual road trip. Looking at LV, Phoenix and LA, will keep you updated.
  8. Thanks guys. Been plugging away at this all week, waiting for the right price. This morning on your HOTWIRE link, got the dates I'm looking for and the number of rooms on Hotwire for $100. Assume this is the Hyatt before I book - Smoke Free RoomsFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterLaundry Facilities (self-service)High-Speed Internet AccessSpa Services - 95% of hotwire customers recommend - Trip Advisor 4/5. Kind regards John
  9. Hi Aaron If we stayed at the airport, is it easy to get into and out of town for meetings, etc? I can get the Intercontinental there for a great price. Kind regards John
  10. Used PRICELINE link to begin booking my 2011 US road trip. Booked hotel for last leg of journey
  11. Morning Aaron When I bid for one room, I get the one above on Hotwire, however, I need two rooms. Should I gamble and buy twice for one room, hoping to get the same one? When I bid for two rooms I get Boutique Hotel, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access - which I guess is the Felix? Thanks for the help? Oh, is this the Food & Drink Conference? Kind regards John
  12. Dear All I'm looking to book a nice 4* x 2 rooms for a business trip to Chicago 5/21 to 5/26 from UK. Tested Hotwire an only hote lthat comes up is Crowne Plaza. Had several plays with the PRICELINE link from here today, and bid up to $125, and got nothing, evening adding in areas that had no 4*'s so I could keep going. As somebody from out of US, what price should I be bidding for this time of year? Also, if we added in the airport, is it far into town? Thanks John
  13. We usually travel back from JFK to UK on the 8:40 flight each August and in the past used Holiday Inn Express which is a good hotel. This year price went up due to US Open, so booked via Priceline. Was cheaper than Hotwire and we got Hilton Garden Inn - see our review on here and Trip Advisor. Also note, not a lot to do around JFK at night. We always dump car early and head into City, via train from Jamaica, real cheap and quick into Penn Station.
  14. Looking to book some hotels for Aug 2011, and checking out Phoenix for 3 nights as part of our trip. Was looking at 4* to 5* and/or Resort. Checked list of hotels on Priceline section of BetterBidding for Carefree and only 1 showing - 4* Carefree Resort & Villas. However, Priceline is asking you to bid for 5* and 4* with no resort in the same area. Bit confused, can anybody help. Also, Priceline says kick off at $78 in Scottsdale for Resort for next Aug, with $20 resort fee to add, was going to start @ $50, as that worked very well for us this summer in Texas, etc. Again, any thoughts?
  15. Stayed here on the last leg of our road trip before flying back to the UK, which was Labor Day weekend and the US Tennis Open was on. Hotel was full, and when we arrived at about 3pm, we couldn

  17. Booked two rooms through Priceline for one night during our family road trip vacation. Hotel was fine, standard four star fare, and literally just off the French Quarter. Rooms are well furnished, with soft beds and good linen. Have seen comments on a few review sites with regards to hotels new elevator system. Can
  18. Booked one night here with two rooms for my family and I during our trip from Dallas to Tampa. Got a great deal on Priceline, and hotel is well located, straight off of I10. Relatively new hotel is my guess, good facilities including fitness suite and outdoor pool. Staff were great from the moment we arrived to when we left the next day. Front desk were on the money from the go, getting you ready for your room real quick and advising of free internet, etc, and places you can eat, either in the hotel or nearby. We ate in the restaurant. Food was fine, although a tad on the high side.
  19. Great hotel, with a great price via Hotwire. All the facilities you would need of a 4* resort, good pool, fantastic sun loungers - best ever, wonderful beds, and if you want to play golf, set on a good looking and well maintained course. Food in hotel is well priced and good standard. Staff were first class. I ran each of the four mornings I was there, and each time I came back to the hotel, guy on door was ready with a bottle of iced water and cool towel. Well done, very much appreciated. Area is off the main freeway junctions and near to corporate offices, with plenty of eating places within 1 -2 miles. We stayed at this hotel as a family including four teenage girls, and there was something for all. Hotel is north of Dallas, about 20 mins from downtown. We used it as a base to visit places of interest during our road trip, such as sixth floor museum and Fort Worth, so ticked all of our boxes. You do need a car to get around, so if you are just using public transport ,maybe better to shoot for Galleria area hotels. All in all great stay.
  20. :) Hotel Derek. Now having read a number of review sites, many people claim this is a great hotel and others a dive. Well, My family and I on our annual US road trip found it great. Firstly, it is a 4* hotel, so some things cost more. It is in an affluent area of town, so again you pay for that, and valet parking, yes you pay $19 per night. Being from the UK, but having travelled extensively through the US, nothing different from other major cities, unless you are staying on the outskirts or in a 2-3* hotel. We got a great deal on the hotel from Priceline for two rooms x two nights, 8/24 to 8/26, so factored in the price of valet parking and it still came out great. Emailed the hotel in advance to advise our flight from UK got in after 6:30 pm, so after passport control, getting car etc, we would not be there till about 9pm, and could we have two rooms next to each other. One x king, one x double. Arrived, all sorted, no worries. Rooms are fine, standard 4* fare. Free WIFI in room. Good quality sheets and beds. Only slight downside, our rooms on 9th floor overlook freeway, but hey, you don
  21. :) Followed your suggestion, and just booked the Holiday Inn and Suites ($40 per night) through your PRICELINE link, posted my stay it to the Florida wins page.
  22. :) 3* Holiday Inn And Suites Tallahassee - two rooms, one night - 8/31 to 9/1. Followed all you guys tips, and PRICELINE link, and got a great rate of $40 per room - great result and thanks again guys.
  23. Thanks, and I'll post hotel reviews as we go along.
  24. Used your PRICELINE link, anf plumpted for 4* Sheraton New Orleans Hotel. Booked two rooms, one night 8/30 to 31/8 @ $49 + taxes. Hotwire had the same hotel @ $68 - hotel wanted $85, so a nice little saving thanks to you guys :)
