Sleep Inn Mt. Pleasant, Best Western Patriots Point, MainStay Suites Mount Pleasant, Holiday Inn Express Mt. 5. Sorry, I cannot remember the amenities. I will start posting my wins to this forum in a timely manner. We had a very nice stay at the Westin Times Square. On 8/31/17, Hotwire said my claim was approved and it would take one to two billing cycles for the credit to show up on my credit card statement.
  6. 8/12-8/17/2013 4 nights Room $944.00 ($236.00 per night x 4 nights x 1 room) Taxes and fees $277.42 Hotwire total $1221.42 Resort fee $116.00 Trip total 1337.42 This total was more than what I could have bought it for on a transparent booking site (hotels.com). Hotwire is giving me a real headache about honoring their low price guarantee
  7. As a long time Hotwire user, I got sloppy on a NYC hotel purchase, and wound up with a price higher than hotels.com. I called Hotwire within minutes of my purchase so they could verify my better price and price match. I spent over 45 minutes on the phone with a customer rep, who had to verify by phone that it was the same identical room on the same days. I was told that the rep would submit my valid claim and I would receive a credit within 3 business days. Seven business days and still no credit. I cannot seem to get through to Hotwire, so I contacted my credit card company and they got a little defensive, as if I was trying to cancel a booking. It seems like Hotwire will do anything possible not to honor their low price guarantee. I am amazed that they are higher in price than hotels.com with zero transparency,
  8. Bid $25 rejected Pricline offered rebid for same zone if I were willing to bid $40 or more, I declined Added Lithonia and bid $29 Bid accepted. Nice property, nice price
  9. I bit the bullet and bought on HOTWIRE without any inkling of what hotel I would get. It turned out to be the La Quinta in Port Charlotte. I don't know how Hotwire got their 3* rating for this hotel, but Hotels.com rated it 2.5*, Expedia 2.5*, Priceline 2*, Trip advisor 2.5* and Orbitz 3*. Hotwire says they take the 3 top travel sites and average the rating, so this would then be a 2.5 star. They also say a 3 star should have room service and on-site dining. This hotel has neither. Would I be sucessful in cancelling this hotel, due to the over rating?
  10. Port Charlotte-Punta Gorda Hotel Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool Business Center Recommended in 100% of customer reviews $65 per room per night Travel dates 2/6-2/10/10 Total price $297.27 Thanks!
  11. I searched hotwire for a 3.5 star hotel in Melbourne, FL and one came up for $53. I posted on this board for help in determining what hotel it might be. I returned to the hotwire site and the price was up to $57. I booked for $57 and this AM the price is back down to $53 (same area, same star rating, same amenites). I am certain it is the same hotel. Is there any chance of getting a refund on the price difference?
  12. From the time I first posted until the time I booked it the price went up to $57, a $23 increase for the length of my stay. Also, it was not the Hilton, it was Doubletree Suites, which I have stayed at previously and 3.5 star is really a stretch for this hotel in my opinion. Still a much better deal than the $119/ night the travel sites were offering for this property. I used the Better Bidding HOTWIRE link.
  13. Amenities: Beachfront Pool Restaurant HSI $53 per night Travel dates 12/28-1/2 Thanks

  15. Won this resort on the first bid, lowest advertised rate is $229. They do not charge a resort fee but they charge $15 per day for parking and $10 per day for internet access. The rooms and restaurants get mixed reviews, the common areas and the staff get pretty good reviews. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $97.00 Subtotal: $291.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $45.27 Total Charges*: $336.27

I would like my max at $75, and there is time left, so I will try again in a few days. Holiday Inn Plainview is $107 and Four Points Sheraton is $115 on their website.
  18. I was banned last week from TOBB because I mentioned another bidding help website in a post of mine.
  19. 20. We would be willing to stay in Uniondale, Plainview or Roslyn, but it must be 3*. I already used up my free rebids and will start bidding again this evening. I have already bid successfully in MTE for 12/24-12/26. The problem is, the closer it gets to New Years Eve, the higher the hotel prices in Manhattan.
  21. Priceline does not offer bidding for the Philippines, but Priceline Asia does (in Singapore Dollars, I think). Anyone ever have a successful bid with that site?
  22. I was hoping for a $75 max bid, it's been successful before. Hauppauge is a bit too far for us to travel as we will be spending time in the Mineola Area and traveling to Manhattan.
  23. Bid $50 for Huntington/ Plainview, rejected Added Wesbury and $60, rejected Added Roslyn and $70, rejected Will try again tomorrow. The lowest hotel rates for the Four Points by Sheraton in Plainview are $115 for those dates The lowest hotel rates for the Holiday Inn in Plainview are $107 for those dates.
