  1. It looks like the Hotwire 5* property South Strip is Aria for $215 per night: Resort, Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, and High-Speed Internet.
  2. When was the last time someone reported a Vdara win in the South Strip Zone? I am looking to bid for fight weekend May 4th-7th and I am looking to avoid that property at all costs. Aria or Cosmo will work fine for me. I notices another user got The Cosmopolitan for under $200 a night and I' not sure what the Rack rate was at the time but it appears to be $1200 for those three days. Any answers to my initial question and bid suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
  3. Ok so I tried again today starting @ $100 for Downtown and was rejected, I added the Hollywood Zone @ $120 and won the Omni Downtown LA which will also fullfill my needs. Thanks. And I did use the sites PRICELINE links.
  4. I ended up going to Las Vegas for this trip instead. Funny thing is even with airfare, Vegas is cheaper than staying here in Los Angeles.....and the rooms are nicer too!!
  5. Does anyone know if there is anything special going on in Downtown LA on February 25th 2012? I bid up to $110 for Downtown Los Angeles using multiple rebid zones and eventually added the Hollywood zone @ $115 a night (knowing I might have ended up with the W which would have been acceptable) but was still rejected. I took a quick peek at Hotwire and it looks like the only 4* property they have available for the downtown area is the Sheraton which has been getting KILLED by reviewers lately. I've seen a lot of people recently get the Westin Bonaventure for under $100 and I was hoping to score a similar deal and I can go as high as $115. Any suggetions or insight? Thanks
  6. Yes I have a check these dates on Hotwire but the only available hotel is Sofitel.
  7. I'm starting to think that L'ermitage Beverly Hills wins on Priceline are just a myth. I bid up to $240 a night for 8/14-8/17 with no success. Any idea how high I may have to go? And how many wins for this particular property have been reported? Thanks
  8. Trump International purchase for the weekend before Thanksgiving. Total of about $253!! A MAJOR savings from the Trump site. I used this sites HOTWIRE link for my purchase. Funny this is I offered $110 for this same property on PRICELINE and was rejected. Go figure! Listed Amenities were: SPA, RESORT, STUDIO, SMOKE FREE, FITNESS, POOLS, RESTAURANT, HIGH SPEED, KITCHENETTE, AND CONDO. Thanks again BetterBidding!!
  9. Won on first bid today @ $80 I used the sites PRICELINE link to start the process. Thanks again BetterBidding!!
  10. The 5 star category shows as available in San Diego when the Downtown Harbor Island zone is selected. Does anyone know what hotel (or hotels) this is?
  11. Since the rate seems to just keep going up on Starwood.com I decided to book using my Starwood Preferred Guest Card and got 2 nights in the Fabolous Suite for $448 plus tax. Maybe I'll have better luck on PRICELINE and HOTWIRE next time around. Thanks for all the help!!
  12. I'm starting to think they are waiting until the last minute to makes rooms available to HOTWIRE and PRICELINE. Maybe they hoped the Easter weekend would bring in more travelers. One would think a bid of $150 per night would be enough when the regular rate on their site is only $229. I'll check HOTWIRE every day and see if they get the W. If not, it looks like i'll end up at the Westin Boneventure in Downtown LA. Thanks to all for you feedback and insight.
  13. I'm not sure how familiar you are with Los Angeles but I may have to work in either Long Beach or Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday morning and I'm trying to stay next to one of the train stations. My VERY LAST RESORT will be to get a room in Downtown and drive to the clubs we are planning to go to Friday and Saturday Night. I'd really prefer to stay in the middle of it all in Hollywood but for some reason this weekend seems to be a hard one to get the Renaissance or the W Hollywood.
  14. Well I've tried again today ( but only bidding up to $140 ) and still nothing. I noticed that the W Hollywood is not yet available on HOTWIRE ( no spa icon ). If things don't change as the weekend approaches maybe I'll stay at the Roosevelt; I've read a lot of bad reviews about that place so i'm really trying to stay away from there if I can. I used the PRICELINE link from this site for my bidding attempts.
  15. I have bid as high as $150 per night ( plus taxes and fees, of course ) with re-bid zones and have been rejected every time. It looks like the going rate for the W Hollywood on Priceline ( which is my target hotel ) is $119 per night. I realize that this is a new property so the record of winning bids won't be that vast, but does anyone think the prices will go down if I wait until next week? I do realize that I could end up at the Roosevelt or the Rennaisance ( just an FYI ).
  16. Won this hotel today; Started at $125 and was counteroffered $194. That price was a little too close to the $209 listed for the Trump on Hotwire so I countered with $160 and was rejected. For some reason I wasn't offered the chance to continue the current bidding session so I opened a new browser and bid $180 which was accepted. I did this sites PRICELINE link.
  17. Check out my recent win for dates within your range. 3.5* Times Square 12/2-12/7 $280 per night ( plus taxes and fees). Priceline Millenium Broadway Hope this helps.
  18. VICTORY @ $280!!! I got the Millenium Bradway at Times Square ( a 3.5 star property ) for $280 per night. For a grand total with taxes and fees of $1681.65. The nights are Dec 2nd-7th. Thanks for your help I did use the sites PRICELINE link. I don't know much about this hotel ( or NYC for that matter ) but I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks again
  19. Thanks for all the feedback; The funny thing is I have taken up going straight to the websites of the hotels you have listed in these zones and for some reason the prices are about $150-200 lower for the week after and the week before I get there. Even on your Priceline calendar of wins I see that 2 people got the Crowne Plaza at Times Square ( a 4* property ) from 12-6 to 12-9 and 12-6 to 12-10 for $136 and $124 respectively. Niether of these bidders will be in NYC on a Friday or Saturday night so that MAY have something to do with it. I have resorted to looking at oline NYC calendars to find out what is going on out there from 12/2-12/7 but I haven't been able to find anything. I' kinda thinking I should wait it out and see if more inventory ( if any has been already ) is released to PRICELINE. I'll update this post when I get someting. I can't go much higher than $250 per night so wish me luck. Thanks
  20. The thing is in those two areas, any hotel in the 4 or 3.5 star level will do. In other areas the hotel I would want gets a little more specific. This will be my first trip to the NYC so I'm going on the referals of friends as far as where I want to stay. I'm looking though the NY Priceline thread and there are very few wins over $250 in any of the NYC areas. How likely is it that they are just holding out for that week until later ( before they open rooms to priceline)? I just can't believe that i'm not bidding enough when there is inventory. But I could be wrong....
  21. Do you think I'm not bidding enough? I haven't seen too many bids for either area for over $250, especially for a 3.5 star property.
  22. Does anyone know of anything special happening in NYC during the first week or so of December in NYC. Maybe that's a silly question because of the Chrismas shopping that a lot of folks will be doing around that time but I've bid as high as $250 per night for rooms in the Midtown East and Times Square areas in the 4 and 3.5 star level and was rejected. Can anyone give me some advice? The only thing I can think of is that the hotels are still waiting to see what kind of rack room rate traffic they will have before releasing rooms to Priceline...or maybe i'm just being to cheap. Any help/reccomendations would be appreciated. Since I have already purchased airfare from Los Angeles, changing my dates really isn't an option.
  23. When doing a search on Hotwire for Palm Springs- Cathedral City 8/29-9/1 and the hotel I am interested is listed as a 3* with the following amenities: Suite, 1B, Free Parking, Daily Housekeeping, Air Conditioning, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurants, 24hr Front Desk, High speed Internet, Kitchenette, and Condo. Does anyone have an idea as to what property this is?
