  1. I decided not to bid higher. My friend has booked a relatively cheap hotel directly (109 Euro/night incl taxes) for our stay. Thanks for your help.
  2. Thanks for your quick help. Sorry, I had a typo in my first post. My dates are 09/27 until 09/29 that means two nights. Unfortunately the express deal you propose on PRICELINE disappears for the additional night till Sunday. I was bidding Champs Elysees-Arc De Triomphe only, not Etoile (and the other areas at the same time, not very intelligent I know). I will trying bidding again later with bidding the least favorable but acceptable area first at $130 and then going up $5 in each of the 5 rebidding areas I have... Maybe there's just no hope for me as hotels seem very expensive this weekend. Thanks for your help. I keep you informed.
  3. I am going to Paris, France this Weekend 09/27 - 09/28. I have already booked a cheap 3* (probably less) hotel for 109 Euro per night (including all taxes, that's about 145 USD). My problem is that I don't really want to stay there after having read the Reviews on tripadvisor. I would love to get a better deal. I would be willing to pay up to 175 USD per night (including taxes!) for a 4* near the center. I tried on Priceline just before with 125 USD per night (that was about 140 after tax) for a 4* in the areas Champs Elysees, Eiffel Tower, Opera Quarter East, Opera Quarter West and St. Germain. This was rejected. What strategy would you suggest? Do I have any chance to get a win with my idea of a price? Paris seems to be very expensive that weekend. Thanks for your help! Always using your links. I have untill tomorrow to cancel the hotel I had booked before.
  4. Amenities See description Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower 230 CHF was what I paid in total incl. taxes. Rate per night excl. tax/fees was 95.22 CHF. That must be around 100 USD.
  5. Booked this hotel Friday afternoon for the same night till Sunday. I was in a hurry so I'm not 100% sure about the amenities. I strongly believe it had the same as the one hotel available for the next weekend: Free Internet (sure about that), Smoke Free Rooms (sure), Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access (sure), Accessible path of travel Also I paid in Swiss Francs, it was 230 CHF. It was the cheapest 4* hotel in this area. Sorry that I can't give more detailed information. It was really in a hurry while booking. Hotel was good. I got a nice room on the top floor. Used your HOTWIRE link.

  7. Sorry, half of my posting got lost. I wanted to report that I had booked this one and it is the Pullman Eiffel.

  9. Thanks a lot for your help! I don't like the reviews on Tripadvisor, so I wont book this one. Downtown I mean near the Avenue de Champs Elysee and preferably south of the Arc the Triomphe. Any guess for this one?: South of Champs Elysées - Trocadéro area 4*, $287.00 ($403 other sites*) Tripadvisor 3.5 out of 5.0 80% of Hotwire reviews recommend Amenities: Boutique Hotel, Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access
  10. I am looking for a 4* (or better) hotel for 19-22 October 2012 in Paris, France. Should be downtown. I have a 4* in North of Champs Elysées - Arc de Triomphe area, Amenities: Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Smoke Free Rooms, Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access. 230 swiss francs (430,09 other sites) (230 CHF is about 250 USD). Any guess? Tripadvisor rating is 3.5 out of 5. This somehow keeps me from booking immediately. Is this rating very bad? I don't want to pay more than 300 CHF per night. At the moment, this hotel is the only one that matches my requirements. Do you think that if I wait more hotels will show up in some days?

  16. 4* Montreal Downtown amenities: Pool, Restaurant For dates 1/31 - 2/7, $99 What could that be?
  17. The price for the HOTWIRE 4* dropped from $135 (earlier today) to $98. I booked immediately, it's the Westin (amenities as in my first post). Before that I tried to bid up to $126 on PRICELINE but no success. Thanks for your help.
  18. Thanks for your help! I tried again up to $115 and all rejected. If I add some areas which seem not to have any 4* (like Airport, University, you can't select 4* for these areas alone), just in order to be able to rebid, is there any risk that they will still get me a 4* in such an area?
  19. I want a 4* hotel for Seattle for 09/9 - 09/13. My bids were $90, $95 and $100 and all were rejected. I've done all 3 bids today and added areas Space Needle and Lake Union to the bid (both don't have 4* so the bids were the same but the price). Could I be successful with the same prices tomorrow? Or should I go up?
  20. I'm looking for a 4* (or more) in Seattle Downtown for 9 - 13 Sept. HOTWIRE gives me one in Pike Place for $135 with Smoke Free, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Internet. What is it most likely, the Westin, the Sheraton, or the Renaissance? Do you think that the price might fall if I wait longer?
