March 7th proved to be the most difficult. I started at $70 and using rebids in the various zones moved up $10 at a time until finally my $130 bid was accepted at the Tradewinds Island Grand. Bid $38 for 3* hotel in downtown Buffalo and was rejected. Then expanded zones and bid for $40 was accepted at the Hyatt. Bid was for 3 rooms on Nov 14, 2008.

Tried to bid from $30 up to $55 in $5 increments for 3* in Buffalo-Downtown and Buffalo-Airport for the weekends of Nov 9-11 and Nov 16-18 but have had no luck.

There was no pool icon shown on the web page when I booked. However when I went back to Hotwire and clicked on the mystuff link it shows the pool icon. I also checked the Adams Mark website and there is a pool at the hotel.

Booked 2 rooms at the Adams Mark in Buffalo on Oct 19 and 20 for $75/room + taxes. Total for 2 rooms for 2 nights was $344. Amenities: Fitness centre, business centre, high speed internet, restaurant, laundry.

During the past week I tried the following bids for 2 rooms in downtown Buffalo for Oct 19 & 20 and was unsuccessful. 3* - Started at $45 and using rebids tried at $50, $55, $60, $65 and $70 all of which were rejected. 2.5* - Started at $40 and tried again at $45, $50 and $55. After getting so many rejections I checked the hotel websites and most are booked for the weekend which explains the unsuccessful bids. I ended up getting the 3* Adams Mark through HOTWIRE for $75/room + tax.

I was very disappointed with Hertz and Priceline with this rental. I booked a full size car which is described as a Ford Taurus or similar on both the Priceline and Hertz websites. When I arrived at the airport they did not have any full size cars available so they "upgraded" me to a PT Cruiser. I understand the type of car you ordered is often not available when you arrive to pick up your rental. However in these situations I expect something similar or better. I have never been downgraded to a lower class of vehicle before. The PT Cruiser is small and does not in any way come close to a full size car in terms of size and cargo capacity. This vehicle was completely inadequate for my needs. I have rented PT Cruisers many times from Thrifty and they are not premium cars. They are classified as midsized. I feel this rental was a complete misrepresentation by both Priceline and Hertz and was very disappointed that their customer service representatives refused to help me in any way.

On Jun 25 my bid for a full size car at the Charlottetown, PEI airport was accepted at $26/day. I had tried earlier on Jun 22 at $23 and was rejected. When I put the bid in for $26 Priceline said the bid was too low and suggested I had a good chance of being accepted at $53/day. I am very happy with this price. I checked a few websites including Hertz and for 8 days they want over $600 so I paid nearly half that. Friends are staying at the Tampa Amerisuites and they have their hotel for $75 through Priceline for Mar 15. So my first bid was 2.5* at $75 for Mar 15 and it was rejected. Then submitted separate bid at 3* for Tampa Airport and Tampa North at $75 and it was rejected. Rebid with Brandon at $80 and it was rejected too. My friend just bid $85 for 3* and got the Marriott by the airport on Mar 15.

Quorum Hotel - Tampa Tried on Feb 7 at $55 then at $60 and $65 by adding the Tampa North and Brandon zones. Tried again on Feb 8 at $70 and then was successful at $75. Looks like a good price. I just finished my stay at the Montreal Hyatt. Beautiful hotel with modern updated decor. My room had a very comfortable king size bed and the hotel was very quiet. I am surprised that this hotel is in the same category as the Delta Montreal. The Hyatt is much more modern so I am surprised that they are both 3* hotels. The Delta is not bad and I would definitely stay there again but it is much more dated in comparison with the Hyatt.

I have stayed at this hotel a couple times and have not had any problems with noise. I was given good rooms at the end of the hall and did not hear noise from guests or housekeeping staff. Overall it is a pretty good hotel.
