Focusing on 7/24 - 7/26 in Downtown Portland as we may spend one night between 7/24 and 7/29 either on the coast (Cannon Beach) or Willamette Valley area. For 7/24/ - 7/26 used my rebid zones 3.5 star and up to $93 bid today with no luck. Oregons brewers festival runs 7/22 - 7/25 so I do expect prices to be high for the weekend. Although I might try a 3*

Thanks, I will call and request a high floor. To others this is also a lesson learned to always book a back-up refundable hotel :) Which I should have done back in the spring when I booked the flights. I think we'll be everything we wanted to do with our time in Seattle. I've booked the 5pm train from Seattle to Portland, so we'll have an extra night in Portland then previously planned

Westin $171 Decided to change our orginal dates from 7/22 - 7/25 in downtown Seattle to 7/22 - 7/23 Seattle Airport 7/23 - 7/ 24 Downtown Seattle and then take the train to Portland Saturday night instead of Sunday morning since hotels are very price 7/24 - 7/25 (Sat night)

Hotel: Coast Gateway Hotel 18415 International Boulevard Seattle, Washington 98188 Splitting the trip up now. We dont arrive from the East Coast on 7/22 until after 9pm so this will be fine

Bidding for 4 nights downtown. Just like Seattle not having the luck I had hoped. Bidding 3.5 star used all my rebids up to $82. Saw that somone got a 3.5 downtown the week before for $70, i thought that b/c it was all weeknights I could have the same success. May have to split the trip up if there is one night that is causing the problem

If Saturday is the problem which from HOTWIRE it appears is a correct assumption then I'm not sure where to stay as we have a 730 am train departure to Portland on Sunday morning And just tried 3 star for $95 and realized this trip is less then 2 weeks away and I have no hotel :). For being a planner I have failed

Went up to $115 for 3.5 star/ 4 Star and nothing , used 10 rebid zones. I am thinking about staying in another area. But am kicking myself for not locking this down earlier and thinking prices would go down. I really want to be in the heart of downtown since we've never visited but if there is a nice light rail then thats and option. The Red Sox are in town maybe thats the cause of no hotel rooms

My dates are incorrect in this thread. It should be 7/22-7/25 in downtown Seattle how do I edit?? Also since I'm just trying to get any hotel at this point is it best to have only one star selected or have 4, 3.5 and 3?

Just tired for 3 star downtown for 7/22 - 7/25 at $71, no luck did see some success this week on the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins for 3 star at $80 and $88, maybe split my nights up and try bidding that way, but we wont have a car and its our first time in Seattle and I don't want to waste too much time being lost of moving between hotels.

I too have been bidding on priceline for weeks on 7/22 - 7/25. And am finally getting very worried :) I saw some success of those that waited right up until July 4th weekend for bidding for the long weekend, but given the inventory on the other sites I really dont think prices are going to go down. So I've been trying for 4 star and 3.5 star downtown only and might go for a 3 star as their doesnt appear to be any 3 stars on the list that are reviewed too poorly.

#1 criteria is to stay in 'downtown Seattle' so willing to do a 4, 3.5, or 3 for 3 nights (headed to Portland for 4 nights after) I would really like to get something for about $75 but it doesn't seem like the 3.5 star or 3 star are budging at that price either and on HOTWIRE that time period has extremely high prices. I have been using Bonus Cash, do you think this is hurting my chances?

I've been bidding the last few days but having much luck, my highest bid has gotten up to $94 for both 3.5 & 4 star. I used all my free rebids. Should I just keep trying each day? Must be downtown... how bad are the 3 star?
