  1. i have also had the same message about duplicate bids when i have tried to use the US and UK sites - i will try the Utah 99999 tip and register using a different credit card fyi it is my am ex card that i am registered with in both US and Uk - it just depends if i can log in with just my best friends name to the US site - otherwise i am only able to check previous requests
  2. booked through priceline - for two adults and two kids - for two nights - wanted 5* - first time in las vegas - had seen that venetian goes for over $99 - started bid at $92 rejected added a free bid and $95 - again rejected but accepted when i went up one gb pound - best price on website is $169 probably didn't need two suites - one king and a sofa bed would have been sufficient - but what the heck - plenty of space to chill in the nevada sunshine who knows if we'll ever go to las vegas as a family again - my son will be eighteen and is starting to complain about long family holidays so luxury and pampering are the order of the day thanks thereuare - i wouldn't have had a clue about bidding for hotels such as this if it wasn't for your site and the advice you all give :)
  3. bid 35 gb pounds and was accepted immediately - having been refused numerous times for the same dates previously (sorry thereuare to have started a new thread but it is a new hotel) - was hoping for the hyatt but what the heck had previously tried up to 41 gb pounds (to no avail - around $76) tonight unexpectedly successful at around $68 we will have to move the next night to the hyatt - but never mind - it is a good rate - the hilton's web rate is $169 - so it can't be bad
  4. thanks again for your help taking the opportunity to investigate the EasyClickTravel site - checking out the 'off the records' that have availability - need to research the marriott marquis - it looks like a very good price at $239 although still awaiting confirmation on a 'by request' - as you can see i am not hopeful of finding anything 'on request' - belatedly saw an earlier comment about the unlikelihood of le parker meridien being available on request
  5. :) hello thanks for the tip tried the link provided and it comes up as 'no info. available on this hotel' when i add in my 11 year old son but when i take him out of the equation - availability! why does one small child cause so much trouble when booking hotels?
  6. :) took your advice and tried for the fitzpatrick with easyclick - but not available will investigate their site more fully thanks ps - is there often a problem with 'on request' hotels? is it worth considering them? the 'off the record' hotels do offer good prices (if you can get them) watch this space! :)
  7. :) oh well here we go again - just had confirmation that le parker meridien is not available - so back to the drawing board
  8. hello again found somewhere on this fantastic site reference to holidayclub.com and using them found some good deals - am waiting to hear about le parker meridien for $174 + tax and fees - best rate on their website was $325 - it looks ideal - so fingers crossed (and i can still cancel until 24th march so some flexibility - minimal fee) thanks for your help
  9. :) tried bidding at $160 for mte and then added two free bids and again added mtw = gradually increasing bid until it was 91 gbp around $170 i think = not a sausage will try again in a few days
  10. :) thanks i'm not sure about the millenium UN - have seen it at competitive prices elsewhere - will keep on looking i think
  11. :) i've also tried to register on Us site - and get rejected because of the address thing however sometimes i have managed to bid successfully on US site (don't know how) and the next ten times have not been able to - when it checks my email address it says i am not registered but when i put email address and last four numbers of credit card i can access previous US bids - weird but it won't let me sign in and try again - very frustrating
  12. yes midtown east - it is still there today (just checked)
  13. hello i need a hotel for two nights 29th march to 31st and would prefer something central - so that my son doesn't get too fed up with the walking i have found best value on hotwire for $185 (only when my son is not declared on the booking!) - when he is everything rockets up in price - anyway the amenities are:- restaurant, gym, business centre, tennis and swimming i have a standby hotel the helmsley at central park - $231 + taxes etc per night - but if i can get something cheaper so much the better - i have been quoted the grand hyatt at $285 (including taxes for all three of us) a night we don't mind times square , mte or mtw really - we only want to do empire state building, toysrus and statue of liberty (maybe macy's and bloomingdales too) we would prefer 4* and originally fancied crowne plaza at times square but it has gone too high on it's site sorry - we are two adults and an eleven year old (we don't mind one bed but would prefer two)
  14. stayed here last summer - if you want two rooms near to one another - request it early - we had two rooms and were quite a way down the corridor from our children it is a busy hotel but quite comfortable
  15. hotwire 4* customer favourite - boston airport amenities shown - airport shuttle, restaurant, swimming pool, gym, internet access and business facilities i hope that you can identify this hotel
  16. :) does anyone know what the customer favourite 4* at boston airport is? could it be the hyatt? i have tried to add on to my previous purchase with priceline ($68) and they said that there is no availablity for that night (is that just at that price or at all) i would like the hyatt but am not so desperate that a good deal elsewhere wouldn't tempt me away
  17. i usually fly british airways when i can (so that i can collect their air miles) and they do give both meals and drinks without charge i have only ever been charged on cheapo lowcost airlines for drinks - and know that US airways charge for alcolho do delta provide free soft drinks and food? i fly with them in july (for the first time)
  18. :) i'm trying for the hyatt because i have a night there on 8th april already booked - and instead of going to hyannis on 7th have decided it would make more sense to stay (if possible) at the same hotel - which is the hyatt harbourside - if necessary i would move hotels but if this was the case would prefer to be in the downtown area than another airport hotel Ps i cannot access a pound sign from my home computer - but can from the office one - my keyboard at home has the symbol but not the will or ability to show it my previous bids for the hyatt (accepted for the same week are $68 2nd to 7th and 34 pounds on 8th - so just the black hole of the 7th to fill
  19. :) help am trying to join up bookings for my holiday in april have one night free (7th april) before i go to hyatt at airport (harbourside) tried unsuccessfully on 21st up to

    las vegas

i have been advised to book my las vegas hotels when i arrive in the city - rather than to book in advance to get the best deals - as my visit will be midweek (advised less sensible at the weekend) having never been to las vegas before i wonder if anyone can help - we are a group of two adults and kids aged 18 and 11 we will be booking two rooms - but of course want the best deal to have more money to spend on other goodies in vegas thanks :)
  23. i have had successful bids on PRICELINE in new york in the past - hope it helps someone RHIGA ROYAL - very nice suite hotel (february 2003) around 54th street but can't remember area SOFITEL - lovely hotel (february 2004) - Times square area i think :)
