  1. usually, but don't take it as gospel
  2. I know but I also know you don't like when threads get this long for no good reason! :)
  3. I agree with thereuare, this thread shouldn't be this long.......... you won't know if priceline will beat your price unless you bid high enough if you can find a better deal thru hotwire then you can find a better deal! it's pretty clear what to do......after all this advice and you're just going to go ahead with your original plans?
  4. TradeWinds Grand is rated a 4* by priceline, if that's what you mean by nice...........however the Don Cesar is supposed to be nicer from what I've heard according to our lists it's missing the Spa icon, but it could be that hotel if you're willing to pay $113.50 per night thru hotwire or $110 per nightfor the Bilmar, why not try bidding higher than $70 with priceline? now that you've decided on the beach, if you'll remember what I said you're definitely going to have to bid a lot of money (higher than $70), especialy if we're talking 4* !
  5. after all this time....are you still asking about your original trip or is this a new trip? no offense, but you haven't reported whether you have tried priceline or not yet? I and thereuare gave you quite a bit of advice........... :)
  6. I think they mean the Carribean Beach Resort mentioned in the first post?
  7. IDK but I think I've completed around 4 or 5 myself too.
  8. What resort in Orlando?....if we know we can easily tell you if it will be a problem or not
  9. 1) not likely but give it a shot! 2) most of the WDW hotels have some kind of free shuttle service to the parks (but of course you don't know what hotel you're getting using hotwire until the reservation is made so there's no guarantee you'll be at a place with shuttle service) $150 or $160 is pretty $$$$ for a 3 night stay, might have better luck looking into Resorts or 4* in the WDW zone using priceline (IMO) I'm confused you mentioned priceline but I thought you want to make a hotwire reservation?
  10. NO way to add, just don't let anybody know you have a third person and you'll be ok!
  11. I'm still going on my trip too, it's down to a Category 2 again and it's still looking to stay away from the coast.....not going to let it ruin my fun!
  12. My, oh my how things change! :) well looks like Dennis could be headed our way! well I also have a trip for 1 night on 7/9 in Lakeland (little less than a hour from St. Pete), though it's not a priceline/hotwire/EasyClickTravel trip so I haven't mentioned it here on BetterBidding so keep your fingers crossed, at the moment the west coast of florida isn't the most likely target but it is on the possible path for Sunday AM.......I think we'll both be ok, hopefully!
  13. upgrade later if possible to a SUITE or some kind of improvement vs. a regular room, if it's just a room with a view.....that's not worth extra money a night to me
  14. you can play with lots of different areas Treasure Island, St. Pete, St. pete beach, clearwater, Tampa Airport, etc. like I said in my above posts
  15. are you out of free rebids for 7/11-7/13 ? how's Sheryl? :)
  16. I don't think you can fight an upgrade, it says on the webpage that it can happne. Plus, who wouldn't want an upgrade, it's not like they're changing your zone! I'd be happy to be upgraded to a resort, resort fee.........so what unless you're taking a trip over 4 days it won't cost you that much!
  17. I live in Gainesville! No, nothing serious is going to happen. There's nothing going on towards Florida right now, you have five almost 4 days left,.........I think Hurricane Andrew won't pop up out of nowhere, especially for a 1 night trip!
  18. I just checked on priceline.....they rate the Casa Marina a RESORT and the La Concha a 3* so you're definitely staying at a nicer hotel!!!
  19. well regardless of whether it's 3.5* or 4* when you use HOTWIRE they're usually NOT accurate about hotel ratings
  20. Nice deal and nice area............don't worry I'm in Florida and we won't have any hurricanes forecast ANYtime soon!!!
  21. I just realized something! Isn't it ironic that all this started because you WANTED a 4*, and now that you've gotten your refund and you've made your new plans.....they are STILL for a 3.5* hotel!! :) :) :o well I'm glad you have plans you're happy with!
  22. wait if I understand this correctly..... on your credit card statement there will be: 1) the orginal charge of $115 for 5 nights, let's just call that $600 after tax 2) a credit of about $575 ($25 shy of the orignal purchase) 3) the new charge of $121 for 5 nights.... do what thereuare says....ask to speak to a higher up, but if that doesn't work... now WHAT you can do is DISPUTE $25 of the ORIGINAL $600 purchase, I've done it myself when I've been overcharged and needed to dispute just a portion of the original charge this will work unless I assumed something I shouldn't have!
