  1. mmmm didn't the Ritz open a year or 2 ago.........I'm going to guess they won their bid in 2004 maybe :)
  2. New Zone Orlando, FL Sand Lake Corporate Park (in between Universal and Airport zones) 1*,2* hotels
  3. if this is really about money then you could take your chances with 3* and likely get something and not have to worry about this anymore because there are far more 3* hotels......I know it's not the star level you want BUT think about it this way.....it looks like all the hotels are going to be expensive that weekend, so even if you did snag a Resort it would probably be for well over $100 and then tack on the resort fee and all of a sudden you don't feel like you're using priceline anymore you have time, but as you draw closer into 2006 you probably don't want to hope at the last minute you'll get what you want set a deadline, if you can't get by the end of the 1st week in january, then you'll consider a lower star level or other travel plans.....for now you have time, but if it's really that busy that weekend you'll want to have some kind of plan B just in case let's hope for your sake that you do get what you want, because you really do have plenty of time to try bidding until your trip
  4. it's a messed up world that her site is bigger and more people report winning bids there......but she must be banning everybody because it seems it's always new people posting and very few old members are left............she acts like she's doing you a favor and you should get down on your hands and knees and praise her and give the site $$$................and her site isn't all that relevant anymore because even though there might be more history there it doesn't matter because hotel patterns change constantly and back then the prices won were so low which just don't come up anymore!
  5. if you've only been bidding Resort level, then you should still be able to bid 4* in Universal area......unless I'm not thinking straight..............it is 2AM and my mind is mush from traveling back from my most recent Priceline stay! anyways, problem is the Resorts in the Orlando area usually have resort fees that will really tack onto your bill and sometimes a lot of people think Resorts should be rated more like a 3.5* vs. a 4.5* Peabody is really really classy and absolutely fabulous! People have gotten the Swan and Dolphin and Marriott have come up before.....but that was quite a while ago......and we might not see them come up again anytime soon if you're worried about quality, everbody is always thrilled with the Gaylord, but people never seem to get this hotel for much cheaper than say $83 the Omni people seem to really enjoy as well, but most people say it's too far from the Disney area and it doesn't come up very often thank goodness the Wyndham Palace doesn't come up anymore, that was an awful place that always came up in the Hilton/Hyatt range good luck
  6. RLD1118, I have a good suggestion since you're willing to bid on another zone and you will accept comparable to Resort, how about 4* in Universal. Peabody has typically been coming up for $75, and I'm almost sure you could get it for no more than $90 which would save you money because you're already spending what $100 on the Gaylord Palms a night about your question in post#5, the idea most people use is that if they start low $50's or $60's they'll end up with the Hilton or the Hyatt and we never see the Gaylord that low, but if they're willing to start higher $80's and above then they're more likely to get the Gaylord or Omni
  7. be careful that your brother has a CC to check-in with for incidentals member plus?....does that mean I'm a member minus?
  8. Lower end of 3* hotel category......didn't have enough people working the front desk. Crabby Bill's restaurant looked decent but didn't try it. Woman next to me bought a room on the spot and they asked her if she wanted a view of the water, and then 5 seconds later the hotel staff checked me in and didn't even bother to ask me if I wanted a view of the water and they put me in a parking lot view room. The King size bed was amazingly hard for a hotel chain which is now advertising in TV commericals that they have adjustable beds in the rooms, wish this had one. The balcony would've been nice if I would've had a view of the water, like mentioned previously. Hotel was a little on the small size overall, elevator was very rocky, slow, and old. They had room service available. The hotel and it's location was safe and clean. I've stayed at the Quorum, Wyndham, Radisson which are all in the Westshore/Airport zone and for me the Radisson ranks #3 on my list with the Quorom ranking #1 for 3* hotels. Also, I had a problem with the electronic door lock's battery pack failing and having to have maintenance fix it which was a big inconvenience just after checking in only an hour earlier. I can't complain with paying only $50 a night thru Name Your Own Price, the woman at check-in next to me was paying $109 a night. The hotel was very quiet and the parking lot was pretty empty, but that's because very few people were staying there. Front desk was very slow even when they have to me, very slow to take down lots of information for such a cheap hotel stay. Front desk staff seemed pretty incompetent overall. I'll be back in this area again in the upcoming months but next time I'll go back to my 4* hotels for a while.
  9. cool to see us using the newest version of IPB......I was hoping we'd be getting an upgrade soon.....good job thereuare
  10. Good work, I saw your winning bid posted..............The price-matching can sometimes work so in the future give it a shot..............Have a Good Trip!
  11. :) :) :o 1st bid $40.....then added a free rebid zone and got it at $50 Radisson Bay Harbor Hotel......$50..........after tax about $63 11/12/05---11/13/05 :) :D :P
  12. you could always try bidding on a hotel in that area using priceline!
  13. if you're referring to this hotel... Wyndham Chicago 633 North St. Clair Street Chicago, IL 60611 United States currently Hotels.com is more expensive for a 1 night stay or a 2 night stay for your travel dates...... so Wyndham's Webmatch won't work in this case.........remember, you need to find a lower price online
  14. I'll tell you if it will work......what are the dates for your trip?
  15. I just got it.....looks like someone is playing while thereuare is away!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. in general the whole miami-dade county area is expected to have electricity before the middle of this month which means life will really be back to normal there
  17. seems to happy in very busy vacation spots.........sometimes it will really only take 2 minutes and sometimes it takes 30 minutes, but it's never been a problem for anybody
  18. YES that's a good rate, great rate! people haven't gotten from the $70's and up for 4* in this area for the last year or so
  19. when you bid 3* in the WDW zone it means you're willing to accept: 3* or Resort you could get a Resort if they can't find a 3* willing to accept your price but can find a Resort willing to accept your price and your bid is "upgraded" so your 1st bid was for the WDW zone 3* (willing to accept 3* or Resort) then you made a 2nd bid for the WDW zone for Resort (but this is a duplicate bid) what you ned to do is bid for the WDW Zone for Resort and change either the date of your stay or add another zone to make it a different bid, most people add zones that contain up to but not including Resort so you can have a "free rebid"
  20. Priceline has 3.5* ? I posted a review from my stay in the reviews section. Thereuare probably wants you to make a new topic to indicate your win and bidding history to be helpful to others.
  21. I was the first to post a review about the Peabody....but I wanted to update since I just got back from my priceline stay there yesterday.....for $75 The Resort fee they charge is $8 plus tax ($8.52).....includes 2 bottles of Peabody water, deal on the room phone calls, deal on the use of the internet in the room and I think that was it Unfortunately I was stuck with 2 doubles.....that's been happening lately with my priceline stays but the last few months I've had no problem getting 1 king but for some reason been stuck with 2 doubles lately... great 4* as usual and everything I mentioned in my 1st review i still true, it's nice to have that luxury after driving/walking insane I-drive wish I could've stayed longer!
