  1. I ended up taking the punt and just booking it.. It wasn't the Cambridge Hotel like I had thought, it was 'The Castlereagh'. Location is perfect right in the city, the look of the hotel isn't the nicest but should be fine for the 3 nights that we're there!! This hotel isn't yet on the list of HotWire hotels so I guess it's another one to add :) Thanks, Jodie.
  2. Looking at booking a hotel for 3 nights next month in Sydney. A 4* is coming back in the City Centre region for $105 a night. It has listed a Pool and Business center Only 20% rating on Trip Advisor, 3.5 out of 5 I suspect it's the Cambridge Hotel in Surry Hills however not certain as the trip advisor listings on that hotel is different to that? Has anyone got any ideas? Looks fairy cheap for a 4* so keen to book?
  3. Has this hotel been booked as yet? I'm interested in finding out what it may be...
  4. Okay - been looking again at Hotwire... Are you able to help ID the following Stay 14 May '13 to 21 May '13... Soho/Downtown Fin District ($177) 2 Star Free Breakfast, Free internet High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible for the blind, In-room accessibility 4.0 Trip Advisor Rating (Guessing holiday inn maybe?) Chelsea/MSG ($162) 2.5 Star Free Breakfast, Free Internet High-Speed Internet Access 3.5 Trip Advisor Rating (Maybe the Best Western?)
  5. Thanks for the info.... If only we knew what would happen with prices hey.... I'll let you know what we end up doing.. Might try my luck at bidding on some 3.5 star hotels this afternoon when I get home from work...
  6. Sorry about that. Thought I'd need a new thread because I changed to Priceline. Thanks for putting them together. I'm pretty sure that the low price was the Sheraton I know aomeone who big $118 not expecting it to be accepted and it was and ended up being the Sheraton around te same time as what I'm going next year. My delimma is now that I regret not buying for about $140 when we first saw it (can't change that now I guess). But I'm hoping for something close to that price. I'm also needing 2 rooms. I guess no one can really tell but is it best waiting for a better deal to pop up and book closer to the date or booking 7mths out. I'm getting mixed responses, I guess because no one really can say what's going to happen with prices but wondering what typically happens. Is mid may a busy time in NYC?
  7. I've just had a few goes at bidding for a hotel in NYC... I am devestated that we missed out on an amazing HotWire deal just recently (hadn't booked flights when I was looking at hotels)... (Was what I think was the Sheraton for about $118/$145 prices went up n down for a few days.. now is right up over $200 a night).. Wanting 2 rooms for 7 nights - May 14 2013 to May 21 2013... Bidding history just went like this (first time bidding on PL.. have Booked through HW before though)... $120 Midtown East Re-bid $130 added: Midtown West Re-bid $140 added: Central Park South SoHo - Tribeca Re-Bid (I think I accidently went back down to $130) - Added: Empire State Building Area. Would like a 4*... Any area really in Manhattan - have been once before and stayed just across from Rockefella Centre and found the Subway pretty easy to get around... Looking probably around TS/Central Area or maybe down Soho kind of area (but not liking the chances of under $200 a night for Soho area)... Any help would be appreicated!! With 7 months out I thought we'd still be able to get some great deals but prices have seem to have gone up already! Thanks! Jodie.
  8. Thanks.. I'll let you know should I end up booking something and what it is.. and of course purchase through the links.. I wish I knew if it would come back at a super good price like it was :( Devestated.. Wish we had our flights booked in earlier!
  9. That's awesome.. well done with the price... We look to have missed out on that one now.. It's gone up.. We only just booked out flights so we're hoping more deals will pop up.. Will be stalking daily!
  10. Hello, I've been searching HOTWIRE through your links (always so helpful here so I ensure I always use the links)... I've found a 4* hotel in Midtown Central for $146 a night 14 May 2013 to 21 May 2013.. Facilities are: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access.. HotWire customer reviews: 80% Trip Advisor Rating: 3.5 out of 5.0 I'm thinking it's the Sheraton but am not certain!? It looks like pretty good deal compared to what else is avaliable.. What are your views? Thanks muchly.
  11. Finally booked this hotel and it was the Hollywood Roosevelt. I also used the link from these forums to book it through HOTWIRE. Thanks :)
  12. Hi All, Currently looking for 7 nights in LA. Have found a 4* Hotel in the Hollywood area on hotwire. Dates: 7Dec - 14 Dec 2010 Price: $126 Amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access I'm guessing it's the Roosevelt? Would you agree? Any suggestions on staying in LA around Hollywood/West Hollywood area? Thanks again. Jodes!
  13. Oh Sorry, didn't realised you split it from the other thread. The Hotel details on hotwire are as follows; 3* 16 Dec 2010 - 19 Dec 2010 $55 Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Thanks.
  14. Hey All, Just thought I would let you know, I just booked this hotel and it is the Holiday Inn Express, and this time I remembered to use the HOTWIRE link provided by this forum :) Now onto looking for our Los Angeles Accom.. Last one to book! Thanks Jodes!
  15. As above, we ended up taking the MTC just because it's a central location rather then east, and was about the same price anyways as MTC one came down.. It is the Manhattan Centre Hotel - seems to be okay. I guess they're not that far away from eachother - but it's booked now and the hotel seems to be okay. Thanks for the help from these forums :)
  16. Just so you know, ended up booking the 3.5* MTC Hotel which ended up being; Manhattan Centre Hotel. Thanks :)
  17. Haven't had much success with our Travel Agent with booking a hotel. So we're thinking about just taking the punt and booking through Hotwire. The 4* MTE hotel has gone up to $202 a night, and the 3.5* MTC hotel is down to $204 a night. We're there for 10 days and would like to be kind of central obviously to the main part of the city - however with NYC have been told with transport, anywhere is easy to get to. With those 2 prices being fairly close, which would you think be a better option. MTE or MTC?
  18. Thanks - it does seem like a decent location, we're looking at Hotel @ Times Square too - which seems kind of in the same area. Will speak to our TA today and hopefully get something booked in soon. Considering that time of the year, I'm keen to get something locked in. If we end up taking the punt on the 4 star, I'll reply back advising what it is. Thanks again :)
  19. yeah, it makes sense, I was originally looking midtown central area, but then was told the other information, so i guess swayed my mind... in regards to what to do, all the usual touristy stuff, as well as shopping and just checking out the city.... I'm tempted in taking a punt at the 3.5 star midtown central, would you recommend giving that a go? Like even know you've said its hard to say what it is, but for $209 a night in a 3.5 star midtown central I'm thinking that may be the best option? Actaully, dammit, seems its gone up to $219, but would you say its the best option? it says : Our 3.5-star hotel suppliers include: Hilton, Millennium, Crowne Plaza, and other respected hotel brands so can't be too bad right?
  20. Interesting, on trip advisor they were saying that it's easier to get transport form that area, like using the subway.. if we took the punt on the 4 star MTE, it would save us about $500, which is more shopping money.. haha... Thanks for the advice, will need to book something asap, might talk to our TA tomorrow. Thanks again really appreicate it. If we end up going for hotwire, will confirm what it was. Just need to decide if MTE or MTC would be better....
  21. Someone on Trip Advisor suggested we stay somewhere like UpperWest side, like Hotel Beacon area because apparently getting across the city from midtown east isn't as easy as getting places from Upper West.. I have never been to NY before, let alone the USA so not really sure what to do. Was just going to book Beacon and hope for the best.. Unless we take the punt on the midtown east, or midtown central ones?!
  22. Thanks very much... We've decided to pass on the MTE 4* as I have been told that it may be a bit 'out of the way'... So looking for soemthing a bit different... I think we might pass on taking the punt since we're going to be there for 10 nights, and go for something we know what we're getting, otherwise the Central one does sound okay. Thanks again
