  1. Wish I knew for sure. I would really like to book the Indigo for the 12th--the price is $165 now ($239 retail). I got a bad draw the last time I gambled based on the best information I could find here...decisions decisions.
  2. I just got the same hotel as this priceline win for the same day at $83. Was hoping to get the Westgate or Omni with that bid so am a bit disappointed.
  3. Just wanted to thank those involved in commenting on and creating this thread. I have to go out to this specific area for family medical reasons on short notice and this helped me book the same hotel for similar rates. Thanks again!
  4. In that case I'm not sure it makes sense to use either Priceline or Hotwire, disappointingly. I can secure a Queen room directly through the Empress Hotel for $132.33 a night and know exactly what I'm booking, cancel it, whatever. I guess compared to what I'm seeing on Expedia, Orbitz, whatever, I'm thoroghly unimpressed with Hotwire's/Priceline's offerings. But if I did, certainly $100 a night would be my max and I'm not sure I'm willing to even spend that much and risk getting in a Best Western or whatever.
  5. Dates are 3/17/05-3/20/05 Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Excercise, High Speed, Golf, Tennis Rate: $103/night Is this the Empress by any chance? In the hotel list, the Empress is listed at 3 1/2*, the only 3 1/2* Hotwire offers these dates is $173 a night, and "Golf" is not listed as an amenity. TJR
  6. Old post, but I'm interested in this hotel for future dates and wondering if you booked it through Priceline or Hotwire and what your technique was.
  7. Not having much luck getting any kind of special deal for the dates of 3/17 (Thurs) - 3/20 (Sun). I'm getting married this particular weekend and need to book some rooms for our officiant and family, etc--and the best price I can find in La Jolla (has to be this area) for 3 1/2*-4* places is $117+. I've heard others getting $65 and up on Priceline; but I'm up to $75 and have consistently failed for these dates. Would go for Hyatt La Jolla, maybe, but actually would rather go for Empress Hotel or others closer to the water in this area (3 1/2* OK) if I can land a sub-$100 price. Any suggestions?
  8. I tried this for the dates of 3/17-3/20, and it didn't work for me. Nor did I get an offer to raise my bid by $17. In fact I tried $70 and $75 as well in the same areas and both those were refused. Disappointing.
