  1. First bid was $60..rejected...added Fairfield as a rebid of $69 and was accepted.
  2. Bid $50 and was rejected. Added Camarillo as a rebid at 53 and was rejected. Waited 72 houres and bid $55 and was accepted.
  3. First bid was $51...rejected...added a zone without 4* and bid 63...rejected ...added another zone without 4* and bid 65 ...rejected and after one more zone without 4* bid $67 and was accepted.
  4. Had to use 4 rebids after starting at $51. 2x$67=134.00 = 23.96= 157.86 Not a super deal but better than the regular internet rate of $119.00 plus tax.
  5. 2 bids and was hoping for the Sheraton but oh well this is still a nice hotel. 3x$55=165.00=27.17=192.17
  6. Started at $60 and used three rebids to $75 x 2 =150.00 + 30.03 = 180.03
  7. Second bid. 2x$69.00= $138 + 27.06=165.06 Not the best of reviews so we will see!!
  8. There must be many who feel this way. last time I was lucky and got the Hilton Gaslamp for $86 and what a great hotel! This time I won't take a chance therefore have booked the Holiday Inn Bayside at $74.50 Entertainment rate and will drive and pay to park downtown.
  9. Re San Diego Downtown Most people want to be in the Gaslamp district where there are a number of 4* hotels which you can obtain on Priceline BUT there is also The Sheraton Marina which by car is at least 10 minutes away and which has had many poor reviews. Why does Priceline persist in offering this hotel when they must know this discourages many people from availing themselves of using Pricelineand therefor losing money?
  10. First bid based on others was $33.00. Web site shows $141.00
  11. Got this on the first bid...will I ever learn! 68.00 + taxes etc.=$87.55 or approx. $108.28 Cdn vs $367.48 on their web site. Still a good deal I think.
  12. I should be ashamed to admit it but I got this with my first bid. Holiday Inn London Heathrow airport October 22 one night $33.00 plus $12.93 = $45.93 It is still a pretty good price and the reviews sound reasonable
  13. Again a first bid accepted....will I ever learn??? Anyways this is still much below the regular price and much below all other hotels in the Eugene or Springfield area. Example Marriott Courtyard weekend special $109.95!
  14. First bid was $49 and accepted. Maybe should have started lower but this is still an excellent deal on a hotel we have stayed at a number of times before.
  15. Here is the update: On January 27 th I succefully bid $90 for the Sunday night March 13. Then on February 16th, while staying at the Hilton Gaslamp in San Diego, I tried again for March 11 and 12 even though I had no success in the past two months. My first bid was $130 and received a counter off of $63 more. Added a zone and rebid at $163 and was accepted. Three nights now amounted to $416 vs $567 on EasyClickTravel or $750 which was the rate that we were confirmed at. Our anniversary was great and my wife was able to stay at the resort she wanted. I guess this is an example of patience or perhaps luck. Thanx again Thereuare for all your help!
  16. Just a comment from a newcomer: Hotwire shows a 4* for April 28 and check out for May 2 for two rooms at $92 as of today. If you go to packages for hotel and car , hotwire identifies the 4* hotels downtown as either the Manchester Grand Hyatt or the Omni. My guess would be the Manchester which gets excellent reviews. Hope this might help and would appreciate your letting us know how you make out as I am interested in going there shortly after.
  17. Sorry, I should have said my first bid was $45 and Priceline countered with an offer to add $13 to $58. I rebid $53 adding Carldbad zone and was accepted.
  18. This was a good price for the Presidents Day Weekend. 3* Hilton Del Mar 2 nights X $53.00 + $20.22 = $126.22
  19. Thanks thereuare. When I tried again they do not list the JW marriott individually but instead list an Easy Click Exclusive 4 1/2* at $189 Is this the Marriott or can I not be sure? My wife is counting on this resort and doesn't want the Hyatt Lake las Vegas where we have stayed several times before. Yes I was aware of the race but unfortunately can't change the date of our anniversary.
  20. Thanks for the advice. Easyclick says no availability for my dates. I will keep trying every few days up to the Easyclick amount of $189 and will post the results.
  21. Have been bidding for Northwest Vegas Resort which I know is the Marriott ,at $120-$130 and $140 with no results My Dates are March 11-14,2005. Should I just forget about it? My wife and I wanted to stay there to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The internet rate is $249.
  22. Thank you squeegeekid for this posting! As a result, I was able to cancel Homestead Suites in Phoenix for the same reason. Priceline turned my first request down but when I pasted your posting on my second attempt they refunded! Just proves how valuable this great site is!!!
