I have been researching these dates in Boston for several days now and had made myself a spread sheet of the different zones, stars,etc... I wanted one of 4 zones, Quincy, Boston Common, Copley Square and Waterfront, using 4-5* only, started at $84 with these zones and then had 6 free rebid zones , hit on the very last bid of $115. Started bidding today with 4 star White House/Downtown at $65, added 7 rebid zones, increased by $2-4 per bid and was accepted at $84/nite for 3 nights , tax $44.97, total $296.97. Happy dance, thanks for the advice!!!

Okay, White House/Downtown and Convention center-Capitol hill zones are good , also like Dupont Circle 4 stars(which you say has good access to Metro) and i'd like to try 4 star first, but will accept 3.5 star and I am willing to spend a few days rebidding, which has worked for me in the past. We'd like 3.5 and 4 star hotels, top budget $115/night. What areas are close to Union Station and within walking to metros? I've been monitoring your calendar of wins and looking at prices on the Hilton and Marriott websites, they have some great prices for that time of June 7-10. Thanks ,in advance for advice. Need bidding assistance for trip June 7-10 , we will be arriving at Union Station and will be there only for sightseeing. I was there about 7 yrs ago and don't remember the areas well except Dupont Circle. I looked at the PL areas and looks like Dupont circle and white house areas are accessible for bus and metro use, as we will not have a car. First question is which area is closest to Union STation? Earlier this am it had changed to 75% with a resort fee, said it was a special price. That is gone and now it's back to 95% from yesterday and higher price.yes, 2 adults. Interesting, I even rechecked it this am. I think I will wait, won't book today. But thanks anyway!!

Now it has changed , still 4* Ft Lauderdale Beach area Says 75%customer satisfaction and charges a resort fee. What is your best guess now?

Got Compact car rental thru your PRICELINE link April 28-May 6, 2012 $11/day times 8 days= $88 $75.12 taxes total $163.12 Very happy, lowest published price was $305.55.

Bidded over 3 days for this, every 24 hours.First day started at $49,went up to $55, no wins. Won third day , started at $51 and increased, by $1-$2/bid, free zone bids of 5 up to the the $62 win. saved some money and got the 3.5 star that I had hoped for. Great location for Tampa!!! One night $62 plus taxes $15.40= $77.40 Happy, Punky!!

I had been been watching prices on PRICELINE and HOTWIRE for 3.5-4 star hotels.I was pretty sure that Hotwire had dropped the prices today for these dates and had identified the 4 star as Intercontinental. So started bidding today at $41 and added 5 free rebid zones up to $50 and won. Wahoo!!! I am very pleased, have stayed at this hotel twice before and really like it, love the Westshore area also. Thanks for all the great support of this board. Total for 2 nites =$100.00+ $20.72=$120.72

These are the same amenities that I am seeing, no children. I noticed that The CRowne Plaza Westshore has gone 100% smokefree and has a 95% satisfaction on Hotels.com. Could it be Crown Plaza, what do you think?

Aaron thanks for the headsup, I've looked at several different customer review sites of this hotel and I can't see anyway that it could have 95% satisfaction. In fact, many reviewers are saying that they couldn't sleep if they were put on the side of hotel next to the interstate and when they complained to the front desk , they didn't do anything about it, like offer to move them, etc... I've been to Tampa many times and this 3.5* hotel is at the bottom of my list. I thought maybe Crown Plaza. I think that I will wait another 1-2 weeks and look again. Please close this forum and I will use this site of HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links for searching and booking.
