I love this site. I'm not that familiar with Priceline Express (have been a super-loyal Hotwire user for the last 6 years, but they've let me down lately). I needed a hotel for a night before going on a cruise out of San Pedro. I went to the Priceline Express site and chose a 3.5 star selection, and it said that there was one in San Pedro for $111. I went to the forum here, did a search for San Pedro and found this post from a few months ago: It looked like it matched (although it wasn't the super-deal this guy got) so I went for it. I took a chance and just booked this 4.5* from 12/29 - 1/1 @ $105/night and it is the Hyatt Regency. So, the information page needs to be updated, looks like the Hyatt Regency is no longer 5* on Hotwire. First time that I used PRICELINE EXPRESS. I've booked probably 100's of hotel rooms on HOTWIRE in the last 2 years and I was a very loyal customer up until today. On PRICELINE EXPRESS I got a 3* for $52/night. On Hotwire, their 3*'s for Downtown SLC were $75/night.
Started bidding at $150 in Champs @ 4*, then expanded to 175 in one Opera, then 185 in another Opera, then added La Marais at 200 and got it. Pretty happy actually, as the cheapest I could find a 4* on Hotwire in the area was above $225.

Sorry - this was for May 10 and the star rating was spot-on. The hotel was recently renovated, so there was a slight smell of carpet glue in the lobby, but the remodel made the place one of my favorites in downtown DC.
Over the last week, I've been coordinating travel plans for a family reunion in San Diego. As is usual, I come here, check the forums for good deals and the hotel list and start searching with the HOTWIRE link. I found a sweet deal on a 4* in N. San Diego Rancho Bernardo (Rancho Bernardo Inn) for $115 for 7/28-31. Well, I pass on the instructions to my other family members who live in other states, and they cannot get the same deal. It comes back for them with a link to Hotels.com for $199. I was worried that I had taken the last rooms at the HOTWIRE rate - so I head back to the site and try to book more rooms for the same night... and I get the same deal. Regardless of how I tried to get things setup for my family, they could not get the $115 price to appear. Some things I tried: The only thing I could think would cause this is that maybe HOTWIRE is profiling visitors by IP address and region? I live in a very rural state in the middle of nowhere and my family all live in very large, urban metro areas. I don't mind the fact that I get better prices, but it made my family wonder what HOTWIRE is doing for them. The downside of this... my family is going to call me now whenever they don't get a good deal at HOTWIRE and try to get me to book things for them. I really don't want to become their travel agent ;-) Any other similar experiences?
I was hoping to get the Westin @ $80 per the previous post, but I had to settle for the Renaissance @ $102 ^should be $102 above^ - still a great deal for the location.

March 22 - 24, 4* on HOTWIRE @ $108 for the Hilton. The hotel list had the amenities right on, I knew I was going to end up with either the Hilton or the Renaissance - saved about $150 for the two nights over booking on the retail sites.
