  2. Hi! Looking at Hotwire right now for a one-night stay in the Calistoga/St. Helena area. Getting offered a 3* room for $142 (amenities: free internet) and a 2* room for $139 (amenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s)). Anyone know which hotels these would be? Thanks!! Edit: This is for October 25
  3. Hi! I need to book three rooms in Chicago for some relatives for the weekend of October 15. Apparently the published rates are skyrocketing (some are sold out), so I've convinced them that the time has come to give priceline a try. I've only ever bid on one room at a time. I think the group would be willing to stay in separate hotels if necessary, as long as they are in the same zone. If you were doing this, would you start out bidding for 3 rooms at once? If I'm unsuccessful after working through my re-bids, would you then try for individual rooms? Or is there good reason under the circumstances to bid for rooms one at a time?
  4. I previously booked this hotel for 1/14 to 1/16, recorded in a post below. First bid $45, rejected; then bid $51, accepted. When we checked in, the hotel was fine, so we decided to book here for the last two nights of our stay in LA. I decided to try bidding $48, which was accepted. With tax, about $58. Free parking, free wifi. Used forum PRICELINE link.
  5. Was hoping for this hotel and it worked out! First bid $45 rejected (about $58 w/ tax). Priceline permitted another bid if I went up $13, but I opted to add the Lawndale freebie instead. Second bid of $51 accepted (about $65 w/ tax). Free parking, pretty much right on the water. Originally only bid for one night, but added a second night at the same price. Used the forum PRICELINE link.
