Our datws on travel are 3/31 - 4/2

This is the US Grant Hotel. It was lavishly refurbished 3 years ago. The problem for us is that is located on Broadway in downtown San Diego, CA. After dark this is not a great area to walk around.

We booked this hotel but declined to stay there.

Westin Hotel, Long Beach, CA was booked 4/12 to 4/16. This Grand Prix week in Long Beach. We have stayed at the Westin many times before. It is a great Hotel in the center of Downtown Long Beach. I booked on this site.

Booked through this site a 3.5* Long Beach Hotel through HOTWIRE. It is the Westin Hotel we have steyed at this hotel previously a great hotel. Amenites: Smoke Free, Restaurant, Business Center, Pool, Hi Speed Internet. The cost was $142.00 per night. NOT BAD DURING GRAND PRIX RACE WEEK!

HOTWIRE has a new 4* hotel in Long Beach, CA the Hyatt Regency Amenties listed Near Beach, Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, Business Center, High-speed Internet Access It appears that HOTWIRE has upgraded from 3.5* to 4* We have stayed at this Hyatt Hotel before and agree with the new rating. We reserved at $89.00 per night. We purchased as a 4* Hotel at $82.00 per night. A great value. We used this site's HOTWIRE link to book. :)

Unfortunately we booked a 3.5* long Beach Hotel in January, 2010 and it was the Maya. We drove to the hotel and refused to stay there. It is on the Queen Mary side of Long Beach. The amenities are simlar as the Westin which threw us off. The hotel rooms are located in four separate buildings from the entrance. The security is bad. We refused to sty there. This hotel has had many names in the past 10 years.

It is adjecent to the Comvention Cente Many resstaurants are nearby. We booked thru this site's HOTWIRE link. A real BARAGIN.

HOTWIRE has a listing for a 3.5 * Hotel in the San Diego, CA Gaslamp/Convention Center Area. It is the Horton Grand. It is an older hotel located in two buildings. Its claim to fame is that Wyatt Earp stayed there years ago. The hotel is somewhat upgraded but an older hotel. Not for us.

This is very interesting. HOTWIRE has listed another 4.5 star listing in San Diego Gaslamp/Convention Center. However this Hotel is Se San Diego. A lovey newer hotel in a very bad location at Broadway and 5th Avenue. After dark there are lots of street people, pan handlers etc. It should not be listed in the Gaslamp/Convention area. We refused to stay here! The rate was $99.00.

Dannippp5, Thanks for this post. I booked two rooms Gaslamp 4* 2/8 $67 Fitness, Business, Pool, HS Internet, Restaurant It was the Solemar. We have steyd there before. It is a great hotel. I used the HOTWIRE link on THIS SITE!
