  1. got two rooms for $95 each on priceline! Courtyard Mariott San Diego Oceanside 3* Its not near the beach where I wanted, but is a really good price, best I could find elsewhere was $150
  2. I am trying to locate a hotel in West Hollywood close to The Comedy Store. It looks like both HW and PL combine West Hollywood with Beverly Hills, which could be 3-7 miles away from where I want. Is there a way to get better fidelity on location in a search?
  3. I recently won on Priceline the Hilton Torrey Pines (San Diego Coastal 4*) for $135 for labor day weekend.
  4. use the "san diego coastal" area. That includes the areas closest to the attrctions that you mentioned. You can also add the "Mission Valley" "Hotel Circle" area if you need to. There are a great number of three and four star hotels in that area that can be likely won for a $75 bid. use the hotel list on this board to identify areas such as south bay that do not have 3 and 4 star hotels for rebidding purposes. San Diego Downtown / Gaslamp is very walkable an includes all kinds of bars and restaruants and nightlife (and petco parkfor padres games) but is not very kid friendly (on friday and saturday nights the women dress very provacatively), if you are traveling with family sd coastal and hotel circle are your best bets.
  5. 4* San Diego (Coastal) Hilton Torrey Pines $135 8/31-9/3 I started at $95 and bid up 101, 105, 115, 121 so $135 is a good price, especially for Labor Day Weekend. I was hoping for the Hilton Mission Bay but I am pretty sure I saw that property on HOTWIRE for $213, which is above my price point. Torrey Pines is a beautiful hotel, but its not right on mission bay park like the MB property is. Anyone know a way if you aren't happy with your win to unload it or transfer it to another property or anything?
  6. My wife and I live in southern California and we would like to take a little weekend trip for her birthday. What I would really like to do is get a great deal on an amazing 5 star resort or hotel. We don't necessarily care where we go. We could travel anywhere in Southern California if it was a really cool hotel. Priceline and Hotwire don't work very well for this type of search. They want you to give a very specific location. Any ideas on how I can do a global search for say the best deal, and not necessarily the location? short of course of doing multiple searches for lots of different areas?
  7. I won a Vdara room on 6/12/2010 on Hotwire for $137 / night. The room was Amazing! My wife and I got married! Now I want to go back and I'm trying to get another hotrate at this property.
  8. I don't post very often but I use this site a lot and I want to say thank you to everyone for making this site such a useful resource. I have seen advertisements for Travelocity's new "top-secret" hotel service which seems to work alot like hotwire. I checked it out and it seems like they don't have a lot of member properties yet. In a search for san fransisco I only saw one 4 star property and it was in the airport area. Also the price for that one property ($88) was identical to a similar listing on Hotwire. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of top secret hotels? Does this website have any plans to start to also support that Travelocity site?
  9. First bid of $62 was accepted. Congratulations, you got your price of $62 for a 3
