  1. Hey Nickster00, I didn't book yet - if it's the Nobu, I think I'll pass and book something a bit cheaper and hope for Aria/Cosmopolitan. I'd really like to get the MGM Skylofts... but I don't see anything in Strip South :( I'll let you know if I book and I'll use the links at the top.
  2. Date: Dec 9 2016 to Dec 11 2016 5* Las Vegas Center Strip Help 12/9-12/11 - $215 per night Amenities are: Free parking, Boutique hotel, Business Center, Casino, Internet Access, Pools, Restaurants Located in the Center Strip - Fountains Area. Pop up says last person got Jet Luxury. States resort fee due at hotel for 2 nights is $71.68. I can't figure out what hotel this is. According to the lists and past wins, I didn't see any Boutique hotels in the Center strip area. Also, the nightly rate of $215 is quite a bit higher than some of the 5* hotels in that area for this time period. I was thinking this might be the Sky Lofts @ MGM but this isn't in the South Strip area. Anyone care to venture a guess as to what this is?
  3. Whoops, sorry for the super long delay. Amenities were: Pet Friendly, Fitness Center, Business Center, Smoke-Free Rooms, Restaurant(s), Internet Access
  4. Thought it was going to be the Benjamin based on the Hotwire list but happy with the results! The hotel is a 4.5* on Hot.wire.
  5. Won: $166 for Sheraton Maui Hotel I also checked Hotwire before I bid, they had the Sheraton for $199. Started bidding at $155, rejected $160 rejected /w $25 counteroffer $163 rejected /w $25 counteroffer $166.. Won! Used SB link as well. Thanks, Better Bidding!
  6. After seeing successful bids for the Mariott in Wailea at $125 for around the same dates, I tried but no luck. I added the Wailea zone and bid: $120, $125, $130, $135, $140.. all rejected w/o counteroffers. Any suggestions on what to do next or why my bids keep getting rejected? Thanks in adv, Christian.
  7. Hey Guys, I tried that bidding strategy... all rejected except for the $165 level one. I got a counter-offer of adding $25 to get a re-bid. I declined that option. Thanks to lonestar's great suggestion, I have a cancellable reservation at the ResortQuest Kanaapali Villas for $150 + tax. It's an oceanside studio. While it looks decent, I would still prefer a real resort (eg. Hyatt/Sheraton/etc.). Any tips on what I should do now? Thanks in advance, Christian.
  8. $150 excluding taxes/fees. Any yes, any zone would be fine. (Do you have any suggestions?) Thanks!
  9. Hey Guys, Wondering if I could get some help for an upcoming trip to Maui. Ideally, I would like to keep the cost of the room to under $150 but would consider going up to as high as $200 if there is a huge difference between the hotels. Ideally, I would like a 4* or Resort class hotel on Priceline, but if they are significantly over $150, I would like one of the larger/higher end of the 3* hotels rather than stay at a condo. I've never been to Maui so I'm not even sure which area is a nice area to stay, so I'm open to all areas, unless anyone has suggestions. I did a bit of price hunting and so far, the prices I have gotten are: HOTWIRE: Ka'anapali 4.0* $197 Selected amenities include: Resort, Beachfront, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Spa Services, Children's Activity Program, Golf Nearby Ka'anapali 3.0* $119 Selected amenities include: Beachfront, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Laundry Facilities (self-service). Kihei 3* $108 Selected amenities include: Near Beach, Pool(s), Tennis Nearby Wailea-Makena 3.5* $159 Selected amenities include: Near Beach, Pool(s), Kitchenette, Tennis Nearby OTHER SOURCES: Hyatt Regency 4* - $334/$280/$334/$334 Maui Prince 4* - $393/$393/$393/$393 Outrigger Napili Shores 4* - $150/$150/$150/$150 Sheraton Maui 4* - $275/$275/$275/$275 ResortQuest Kaanapali Shores 4* - $145/$145/$145/$145 Royal Lahaina Resort 3* - $120/$120/$120/$120 Ritz Carlton 5* - $265/$265/$265/$265 Does anyone have any opinions on the Outrigger/ResortQuest type hotels? Ideally I would like to bid for a resort/4* using Priceline with a max bid of $150. If this is extremely unlikely then I would consider either taking a 3* for $150 or raising my max up to $200. Thanks in advance guys, you've been a great help in the past.
  10. Hey there, thanks for all the replies... I did a bit more research and found out that I *need* to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn... rates at their website show $179/nite. I see a 3* on Magnificent Mile - Wacker Drive for $76.. it has: Selected amenities include: Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service). This post http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?act...ST&f=86&t=7534& shows a succesful bid for the Hilton Garden Inn at $64 with the following: Restaurant, pool, work-out, biz center, internet It's slightly differnet in that there is no internet and the addition of the laundry facilities. WHat do you guys think? Which hotel is this 3*? Should I risk it? Thanks guys, Christian
  11. Hey Guys, I need some help on an upcoming trip April 1-5. I don't know Chicago very well! I need a hotel near the Park West Theatre and judging by Hotwire's maps it looks like "South and West of Loop" is the closest.. Am I right or is there another area? I found a 4* on Hotwire: Selected amenities include: Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Business Center. View complete amenity list and description Best Value! $89/night. Any idea of what this hotel is? Any bidding strategy for this? (I would pay up to $120) Thanks guys, You've always been helpful!
  12. The hotel is actually inside a (slummy) shopping mall and shares its parking (though a dedicated section of it) with the mall. The $1/nite parking and free on Sunday is for the mall parking lot, which happens to be the same lot as the hotel's. I believe you can actually get to the hotel section if you follow the signs. Hope this helps! -Christian.
  13. Hey guys, Just wanted to share with everybody, Originally bid $43 rejected... $45 rejected (added Lincoln) $50 rejected (added Cambridge) 72-hours later... $51 rejected $53 accepted It was a great stay. They upgraded me to a corner room with a beautiful view (at least for Hamilton :) ). Gave him $5 Canadian and he was delighted. One thing though: parking was expensive -- $7.99 with in an out privileges through the hotel. If I didn't take their parking option it was $1.00/night and free on Sundays. Overall a great stay. -Christian
  14. I got the rate thru the www.lasvegastouristbureau.com. At the time it was $185/$185/$185/$155 but now it says $185/$185/Call/Call. I don't think there should be a big problem because the last night is a promotional night available for $159 from Bellagio directly. Should I take this offer if its available or wait a bit? Thanks!
  15. ...bump any suggestions? Should I book the Bellagio at $185/night and hope for something better and eat the $15/night cancellation charge if that happens? Thanks! -Chris
  16. Check-In Date: Saturday, January 15, 2005 Check-Out Date: Sunday, January 16, 2005 Hotel Name: Marriott Toronto Downtown Eaton Centre 525 Bay Street Toronto, Ontario M5G 2L2 416-597-9200 Your Offer Price: $45.00 (US dollars) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $45.00 (US dollars) Taxes & Service Fees: $11.07 (US dollars) Total Charges: $56.07 (US dollars) I actually made a mistake and bid $35 on for Mar 15 - 16, but I called Priceline and they were nice enough to allow me to cancel it as long as I booked another reservation! Btw, $35 for Mar 15-16 was for the Mariott Courtyard!
  17. I'm from Toronto as well and I usually book my flights out of Buffalo. Southwest, JetBlue and Airtran all have pretty low fares from Buffalo-Las Vegas. I'm going in March and snatched a great deal from Delta out of Buffalo in March. I think a drive to Detriot is way too far to make the $30 less (in my case) worth it. Last summer, I flew out of Toronto on America West and my fare was $214+tax US = totalling around $290 US i believe. It was pretty cheap! Unfortunately when I checked with them for my March get away, their fare was $420 + tax US. -Christian
  18. Hi, I was seeking some suggestions for my trip to Las Vegas on March 20-24. I currently have these rates: Luxor $99/$89/$89/$89 booked through the hotel website. 48-hour cancellation policy. I don't really want to stay here because I've been here before. It was great but I want something new! Mandalay Bay - $119/night Monte Carlo - $129/$129/$129/$119 Bellagio - $185/$185/$185/$155 Aladdin - $126/$126/$126/$126 (Hotwire) I want to keep it under $120 AND avoid the Westin so I guess Priceline is out. Are there any other 4* properties on Hotwire or should I keep my Luxor reservation keep trying? Thanks guys!
  19. Thanks a lot guys! For the dates March 24-March 27 (2nights), I scored The Venetian $100/night + Tax/SC = $229.77 PL gave me a counteroffer when I bid $90 at $119 which I rejected. It then accepted my third bid at $100. I think I will make cancellable reservations at Luxor and continue to check if any other 4*+ hotels prices go down. Thanks!!
  20. Quick question: do you think the prices will decrease on Priceline for a 5* (for Mar 20-24) or do you think I would have my best chances now? I might book Luxor at $99/night even though I've stayed there before. Secondly, I have the Venetian (or so I think as a 5* on Hotwire) for $119/night - should I take this or wait? Will it decrease on Priceline? Thanks, you guys have saved me so far... $314! :) -Christian
  21. I booked 3-nights. It ended up being the Hyatt West Hollywood as predicted! It was $87.00 /night + tax/sc = $299.95 for the 3 nights. Thanks guys! -Christian
  22. Thanks for the quick reply! Should I take this offer on Hotwire or do you think I should wait for the rates to go down a bit or try Priceline? I'm a bit skeptical of Priceline because I really REALLY do not want to end up with the Beverly Hills Hilton. Thanks!
  23. Hi, I'm looking for some advice from some of the experts on this board. I'm looking for a 3-night stay in either Beverly Hills or West Hollywood (I prefer West Hollywood). I did a search on Priceline and got this: 3.5* HOLLYWOOD - WEST HOLLYWOOD Selected amenities include: Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Business Center. View complete amenity list and description Has the "Best Value" indicator and going for $87/night. Is this the West Hollywood Hyatt? Is this a nice hotel? Is it near the gay strip? Thanks -Christian
  24. Hi, I tried that strategy and failed all the way up to $150. When I bid $100, I was given a counteroffer for a 5* at $217. I also had to change the dates a bit, I'm not sure if that made a big difference or not. The original flight I was going to take was sold out so I had to arrive Mar 20 instead of the 21. I also forgot that my max of $150 didn't include taxes/service fees, which on Priceline seemed really high. So, would you be able to give me a strategy for the following (I'm really sorry about changing the parametres): March 20-24: max bid $120 -- I would take 4* or 5* but I'm worried about bidding 4* because I really don't want the Westin. March 27-29: max bid $150. I current have cancellable reservations at the Bellagio for $169 a night for these two nights. Could I get a better deal somewhere else?
  25. I would want to try to keep it under the $150 mark if possible... Thanks
