  1. Thank you for your time. I am going to hold tight with my Plan B for now.
  2. The $121 supposed Dumont NYC is not adding the $25.00 Facilities Fee (per night) to the rate, so I am thinking that is it is probably NOT the Dumont NYC? At least I am not seeing it easily at checkout that one will apply to pay directly at the hotel? Does Priceline have any coupons out like Hotwire too?
  3. Thank you. I will not be pursuing the NH Jolly Madison. I saw it go down as low as $113 last night. I have a Plan B split reservation at the Hotel Chandler on Dec 14/15 (cancellation free) at $170 ($398.07 total) and The Evelyn on Dec 16, 17, 18 (cancellation free) at $131 ($462.84 total) but open to other options. I am traveling with my 20 yr old son to check out Wall Street/WTC, History museums, shopping, etc., and it will be his first time in NYC. My goal is to stay under $1,000 for all five nights if possible including all fees and avoiding (if possible) the resort fees. Thank you.
  4. I think it might be Jolly Hotel Madison Towers per a last bid. It also fits the description at TripAdvisor.
  5. Hotwire Easy View and Hot Rate are both $115 FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower. 60% recommended. 3.5* Hotels in or near the zone for your dates: $245... SpringHill Suites by Marriott New York Midtown Manhattan $320... Courtyard by Marriott New York City Manhattan Fifth Avenue
  6. I saw it was available for $137 as a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal. I started bidding on PRICELINE at $100 and added rebid zones lacking 4* properties until I was accepted at $120.00.

  8. I wound up bidding on PRICELINE, attempting to name my own price, and I got 7 nights at the Eventi for $200.00 a night, including New Years, so not bad. I saved $3.00 a night by not doing the Express Deal. Bid from $170 in $5.00 increments and was finally accepted at $200.00/nt.
  9. PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal: 5 Star Hotel in Chelsea Area Area for $205/night. Rated 9.0 out of 10 (or higher) Guaranteed Amenities: Pets Allowed Restaurant Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities King Bed/King Accessible Bed for $203.00 Thank you.
  10. I was trying for the LAX Holiday Inn on LaCienega, but I got the HACIENDA on Sepulveda for one night, tomorrow 3-20-2011. Not very happy as I did not even see this hotel as a possibility in my research (which was brief I admit) on the list. The reviews on TripAdvisor are scary. Anyway, amenities listed as: FITNESS CENTER POOL LAUNDRY FACILITIES HIGH SPEED INTERNET Hotel - HACIENDA Rate per night: $56.00 Nights: 1 Rooms: 1 Tax recovery charges & fees: $14.16 Subtotal: $70.16 Trip total: $70.16 I used the HOTWIRE link from Betterbidding.com
  11. I booked in January 4 tickets to LAX from RSW via ATL for $186 each on Delta, so we are all set to leave this week. Now comes my oldest daughter, 21, in college who at first could not go, but now can and WANTS TO GO TO LOS ANGELES! I looked at all the discount travel sites and was getting rates for flights from $500 to $800 RT or so from ATL (where my daughter is in college). Tonight, I started my bidding on PRICELINE, at $250 to LAX, I automatically received a notice that if I increased my bid to $369 I could get a ticket, I did not fall for that, so I kept rebidding with $10.00 increments, adding Orange County, Ontario, Burbank, Long Beach. Then I increased my bid to $300 by including the red eye option. Finally, the $300 was accepted (with tax $341) for ATL-IAH-LAX with very short layovers via Continental and NOT red-eyes. She leaves at decent times (11am from Atlanta, and on the return, 2:45pm from LAX). When I went on the Continental site, that flight is their lowest fare at $829! Thank you PRICELINE and Better Bidding!
  12. Heading to Disney for the kid's Spring Break-Easter week. Tonight I tried for hotels in Anaheim: Bid $60 for 3.5 Star in Disneyland-Anaheim and was rejected Bid $65 for 3.5 Star in Disneyland-Anaheim and added Anaheim Hills and was rejected Bid $70 for 3.5 Star in Disneyland-Anaheim, Anaheim Hills and added Laguna Hills and was accepted. Red Lion Hotel Anaheim 1850 South Harbor Boulevard Anaheim, California 92802 714-750-2801 formerly the Anaheim Maingate. Hoping for a good experience...
  13. Last night, I was attempting to get 5 nights at a 5 star in London Knightsbridge-Earls Court for a double, check in 12/26 with 12/31 check out. The following PRICELINE bids were not accepted: $160 per night for 5* ( Kensington) REJECTED, received an immediate counter offer @ $247 $165 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith) REJECTED $175 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill) REJECTED $185 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill, Westminster) REJECTED $199 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill, Westminster, Bloomsbury) REJECTED $210 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill, Westminster, Bloomsbury, Finsbury) REJECTED $221 per night for 5* ( Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill, Westminster, Bloomsbury, Finsbury, City-London Bridge) REJECTED When all my free re-bids were used, then I added Mayfair-Soho which I knew had some 5* hotels. Looking at Hotwire for each night, I knew that I could get Sunday night for $169 right off the bat, and the others were $189 and up. So I bid $170, I did not want to waste my chance by trying $150, but I could possibly have gotten it for that price? I don't know. Anyway. I am happy with the $170 per night + fees. $170 per knight for 5* (Kensington, Hammersmith, Notting Hill, Westminster, Bloomsbury Finsbury, City-London Bridge, Mayfair Soho) ACCEPTED Grosvenor House, A J.W.
