Started bidding at $110 and added $2/zone until I hit it at $124/night. Sounds like a nice hotel, and it was in the area we wanted. Currently listed for $219/night on Expedia, so this is a good deal. Only caveat is a resort and parking fee.

Bid $55 on the day of travel. Accepted on the first bid. As a note, Hotwire had a 3* listed for $67 that same time which seemed to match the amenities of this hotel, but the PL fee was much lower.
Overall, the hotel was fine. A little dated, but the location was very convenient to Cannery Row and the Aquarium. The afternoon wine and cheese reception was a nice bonus. They charge $13/day for parking, but they let you keep the car in their garage until 6pm the day of checkout, so you can leave the car there and go to the aquarium.

This used to be a 3.5* on Hotwire. I stayed there a year ago, and it is a nice enough hotel, but I'm not sure it is 4*. The price was right though.

This time period seems to be pretty well booked. I've been rejected with all kinds of bids at all star levels over the past few weeks. We definitely wanted to be on the South side of the island, so this should work well for us.
I started at $95 attempting to get the Marriott, but it never went through. I was rejected on this same bid in the same area at $115, so $120, at least for me, seemed to be the magic number. Hotwire appears to have the same hotel for between $139-152/nt (it seems to change every few hours)
