  1. Found this one last night. I was getting a bit worried that hotels in NOLA were going to be swamped. I have been checking daily for at least one month. This property looks great from the outside as we have passed it numerous times. Amenities listed: Restaurant Pool
  2. I agree on both points Swag. One of the best Jazzfests ever and the occupancy tax was included this time. I was so happy to see that I didnt owe another $30 ($3 per day at the Hyatt for 10 days). I did pay more this year ($56 per night) than in previous years so that helps explain that the tax is included in the rate. I was still a bargain.
  3. Your chances increase of getting a bid accepted the higher you bid BUT you will probably get another hotel like the Doubletree Suites. It seems like a nice hotel but it aint the Hyatt.
  4. Be glad you got your room when you did. The rates on Hotwire are now over $260. That can only mean that Priceline rates went up as well.
  5. He's 100% right. I have a couple rooms there july 2-5 and it has went from $76-266?? I guess the inventory has dried up? Or maybe the manager was entering Priceline rates into the hotwire columm by accident? Whatever the case im glad im taken care of.
  6. I have 2 rooms at the Jersey city Hyatt over 4th of July weekend. I paid $55 (back in november) and $67 (a couple weeks ago). I had failed at bids below $60 and finally had the balls to try a bid over $60 and was successful at $67. Usually the Doubletree comes at higher rates thru priceline than the Hyatt so you should be ok as long as you dont bid about $67. Now your stay is for many days and Hyatt is kind of picky when it comes to stays that long so you may have to split your bid (6/30- 7/2 and 7/2-7/5 etc.). And yes the 3.5 star on hotwire is the Hyatt. Let us know how it goes. Brian
  7. I have been checking on a room for Jazz Fest. A one star property now appears on my dates at $39. The amenities are "shuttle", "restaurant", "self serve laundy" and the hotel is in the downtown area. I want to say its the Hotel La Salle on Canal but that hotel has never had a restaurant? If anyone can provide any info that would rule! Thanks in advance. IndyWaiter
  8. I am curious about parking in Jersey City. Do the parking meters work on Saturday? I would assume that they dont but some citys do. I will be staying at the Hyatt Jersey city and I know parking is $15 for self parking. I also know that parking at the Candlewood Suites is FREE to guests, so my question is does Candlewood suites offer parking passes to guests or do you just park and no one asks any questions? If anyone has any info please reply to this post. Many thanks in advance. Brian
  9. I tried up to $45 last week with no luck. I was impatient tonite after trying $40 went right for $55 and was accepted! I am excited but cant help but wonder did I over pay? Whatever the case I have never paid less than this for a room in NYC.
