Sorry for the late reply. I have found that rental cars are far pickier than hotels. For various rental cars, I have bid up to $18 per day and been rejected. I tried to be patient and found that normally I can get an accepted offer for less than many of my rejected offers. I have accepted offers for $12 compact and up to $14 standard. It looks like if you are just a few days before the rental period, some people have accpeted offers for < $10.
Used the rental car checker link. Had been trying for a while.
Tonight I bid:
$12 for a compact - rejected.
$11 for an economy - rejected.
$13 for mid-size - rejected.
$14 for standard size - accepted.
