Bumping with more: I would rather have a plastic cup in those plastic covers. I can see myself-or a family member-just absently drinking from a glass without washing it first. Coffee with REAL milk in the morning. Lots of outlets, not hidden behind beds. Those magazines about local attractions, with coupons, etc.

I got this on my first bid. Total with taxes is $51.63, got the Best Western Plus Scranton East Hotel & Convention Center. TripAdvisor seems pretty positive. :)

Multiple attempts were made to get a room in Pittsburgh at the above dates. First tried at fairly low prices in the Downtown area at 4 stars (by adding in other areas since downtown has the only 4 star hotels), but even at $150 my bid was rejected. Tried going down to 3 stars (downtown's lowest, according to the list on this site), with no luck, also up to $150/night. Decided to add in the University Center area and tried bidding at $100/night for a 3 star to start. I got the message saying I could get it at $120/night, but decided to try again at $110 and it was accepted. :) Used the PRICELINE link each day I tried, and I kept trying over the course of 4 or 5 days since I kept getting fed up and putting it off. :) Here are the details: Holiday Inn Pittsburgh University Center 100 Lytton Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15213 412-682-6200 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $110.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 4 Room Subtotal: $440.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $76.08 (USD) Total Room Cost: $516.08 (USD)

I'm in touch with Priceline, the problem lies in that we foolishly used 2 credit cards. One to pay Priceline, and a different one that was swiped at the desk for incidental charges. Priceline only sees the one that we used for payment. The hotel told them that they did not charge the card that was swiped at the desk, and of course, Priceline believes them. I have an email from Priceline that says that the hotel told them that they didn't charge the card at the front desk. But, they did charge the card at the desk. I sent Priceline a copy of the statement and they're looking into it further. It's just discouraging that the hotel told me that they never got their $$ from Priceline, so that's why they charged the card at check-in, then they lied to Priceline and told them that they didn't charge me any extra, and Priceline believed them. I'm going to get in touch with Choice Hotels about the way the front desk staff handled this later.

shar1, I hope you enjoyed your visit! We were there the same weekend. We found the hotel to be just so-so, the breakfast was terrible, but what really sucked was how the hotel ran my AMEX card, for what I thought would be incidental charges, and then my card showed a charge of $66! They told me that it was for payment. :) :) They explained that when I won my Priceline bid, that my payment goes to Priceline, who then turns around and pays the hotel. They said that Priceline never paid them-huh??-so, when they swiped my card, that was to be for payment. So now I have 2 credit charges, one used for Priceline back in June, showing the winning bid for this hotel, and one showing a charge direct to the hotel, that the hotel claims is for payment. I'm disputing the charge from the card that was swiped at the desk. It just doesn't make sense that Priceline didn't pay them! Incidentally, we found the hotel to be just okay. The hot tub didn't work. The breakfast was one of the worst we've ever had at a hotel. Watery coffee and watery juices!!

Well, I'm going to set the gps to 11020 Milan Road and see what's there!! :) I believe it's correct to say it's the Quality Inn. Priceline calls this the Quality Inn, it's just that I usually go to tripadvisor to read reviews, and I couldn't find it. I looked up the address, and tripadvisor says the address is a Comfort Inn. Makes sense that it must have recently been a Comfort Inn.

We wanted to go to Cedar Point for our daughter's birthday, September 18th, take advantage of cheaper prices and smaller lines. We tried bidding $40, the Sandusky-Huron area and was rejected. Then I thought about how Cedar Point doesn't even open until 6 pm on the 17th, and is open at noon on the 18th. In other words, there's no rush to get to the park first thing in the morning, like Disney World, so why not try bidding again, and expanding our zone to add the Milan-Norwalk area? We really don't care if we have to drive a bit more to get to the park! So we tried bidding again, adding the Milan-Norwalk area, but kept the bid at $40 and won! Here's our problem though: Priceline says this is the "Quality Inn Cedar Point South". When I looked up the address on tripadvisor, it shows the same hotel exterior, but it's the "Comfort Inn Cedar Point South". Guess we'll see which one it really is when we get there!

Living room with a fold-out couch, dining area, FULL kitchen, bedroom with 2 queen beds. There's a very nice breakfast too!
