  1. I have to agree that this is in no way a 4* Hotel. It is a former Holiday Inn, and although there is a hipper decor, its not a 4*. I actually will not bid this zone (Palm Springs - Cathedral City) anymore because I am afraid of getting this property. You may want to just bid the Rancho Mirage Indian Wells zone for future stays. The 4* properties in that area are truly 4*.

  2. I first bid Resort category only and bid $60 in hopes of the Grand Champions as has worked in the past, rebid resort for $65 adding new zone with no luck, and then finally $70 adding final new zone utilizing the rebid options under the resort category. When none were available, I lowered my bid to $60.00 and added the 3* level. I thought I would have recieved the Hyatt Suites or Wyndham as I have in the past. The Holiday Inn in dowtown Palm Springs is definitely new to PRICELINE. This is my first disappointment in years of using Priceline. By the way ThereUAre, also please add Doral Desert Princess Resort under the 3* to the list. Stayed there one night last weekend with a Priceline bid of $80.00. I did not report it since I thought it was a total fluke, and the place was empty. I must say that it was a very nice place, but note that there is a resort fee of $15.00 per night. Properties are totally changing with PRICELINE from what they used to be in the Palm Springs area. :) Hope this helps users of betterbidding! Thanks!

  3. :) A little disappointed with what Priceline gave me when the regular price is $71.00 per night on holiday-inn.com, I am sure we all can agree that an $11.00 savings from the regular price is much to be desired. I will report back on the stay.

    Holiday Inn Palm Springs

    Palm Springs

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00

    Subtotal: $120.00

    Taxes & Service Fees: $22.22

    Total Charges*: $142.22

    *Prices are in US dollars.

  4. This was the toughest bid I have ever had on priceline to get. Bid Resort, Palm Springs Zone $70.00 rejected, added Other Vicinity Zone $75.00 rejected, went 4 * went $80.00 rejected, went 3* $85.00 accepted. This high season makes it very difficult to get a room in Palm Springs. Was surprised I got the Riviera Resort since I have not seen a posting for that hotel before. Dates are March 9-11, 2005. Spring Break Time. :)

  5. We decided not to pay the additional $11.00 for the king size bed. We have stayed at 3* or better only in the past, which I think makes a big difference in the service you are offered because of the class of hotels in 3* AND BETTER. This was the first inn we received from priceline, but the lesson we learned is 3*, OR 4* OR RESORT ONLY.

Thanks for your imput. Maybe we will call ahead as soon as we get the confirmation from now on. :)

  6. 2 * La Quinta Inn 1/2/04- Vista, CA ( Escondido Area)

    Your Offer Price: $40.00

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Number of Nights: 1

    Subtotal: $40.00

    Taxes and

    Service Fees: $10.79

    Total Charges: $50.79

They were not willing to give us a king size bed when we arrived at the hotel unless we paid them an additional $11.00. This is the first bad experience we have had using Priceline. We have never been required to pay additional once arriving at any priceline bid hotel for a king size bed. :)
