  1. They are saying that 3* hotels are going for $119. per night. I thought that was a bit low but that is what priceline says. We have been trying using 50,55 & 60. I got it last year for $60 for the March as well.
  2. bturner... I have been trying for this hotel for March 29/05 for several weeks now. I have been bidding every three days - $50,$55 & $ 60 with the free bid zones. Is it too early for next year? Where do you get the breakfast coupons? and what is the $10. link???? We got this hotel last year pre-cruise and would love to get it again. Any help would be appreciated...
  3. It was my first bid....but I have been trying every three day for Aug. 9 to Aug. 12 for 6 times. I try $45,47 & 50 each time with the free bid zones. Today just happended to be accepted on the first try. This hotel is not as close to the airport as I would like but that Priceline.... be happy with what you get.
  4. I just won the 4 Points Sheraton Hotel on Dixie Road at the Toronto Airport. I bid $45. and it was accepted.
  5. I just won the Sheraton Gateway 3* hotel at the Toronto Airport for 4 nights in August - $45./night fees $24.47 for a total of $204.47US. This hotel is right at the Toronto Airport.
  6. I have stayed at this hotel and paid $139. per night (Cdn.) before discovering Priceline. The Hotel is just OK, what is great about it is in the parking lot you have your choice of 3 or 4 restaurants, a convenience store and Tim Hortons. I wish I could get it that cheap when I try.
  7. I tried several times to get a hotel in January for Toronto Airport area for the Gift Show. This is a busy time at the Airport strip so the best I could do was $50/night . Booked 2 rooms - fees were $12.thereabouts. Tried to get one cheaper than that - no luck.
  8. Sorry, I forgot to put......... I was talking about PRICELINE.COM
  9. Like you, I was weary of booking but decided that all I would lose was about $100. cdn. I am from Canada and thanks to betterbidding was able to figure out how to use priceline. Since then, I have booked a night in Florida for a fraction of the cost of what the TA wanted and this room is right at the pier. I have spent 2 nights in Quebec City and on Wed. just got back from 5 nights in Torono. My reservation was for $750. cdn and I cancelled this as I got the Hilton just down the road for $305. cdn. Trust me, it's not a scam. :) :) :) :o
  10. We just got back from Toronto. At the last minute decided to cancel our reservation and book a room thru priceline. Got the Toronto Airport Hilton for 5 nights $45. per night, fees of $10.62. It was a great Hotel, doesn't look it on the outside, but has been completely redone on the inside and is beautiful.
  11. Sorry, it was a 3 * hotel. They were actually 2 room suites with a continental breakfast. Barb
  12. :) We just got back from our trip to Quebec City and our hotel stay was wonderful. Paid $48. per night through Priceline. It was a good deal. Had a Continental Breakfast as well.
  13. I am going on a cruise on March 30th and got that hotel on priceline as well. Being my first time using priceline I bid $60 and got accepted right away. Next time I will know better and start lower. Happy cruising.
  14. :) :) :o Just as a follow up...... Today I called the Marriott to confirm my reservation and to ensure that I had two beds and non-smoking and she entered all that in my reservation. I also said I may have another couple coming and could they stay in our room? She said we could have up to 5 people with no extra cost. thanks....I am so happy
  15. Thank you for all this info. I tried on Priceline for a 3 star and I got the Marriott Marina and I am quite happy with that. It is right at the Port Everglades and we got it for $60. + taxes. The room our travel agent had gotten for us - 1 room with 4 was for $160. I will call the hotel and confirm with them in a couple of days that I need two beds and non-smoking. When it gets closer to the trip, I will either sneak them in or call as tell them I have two extra people and pay the extra $20 or $30 - whatever it is. I will let you know when I get it all finalized. Thank you for helping me get introduced to priceline. I can even book hotels in Canada.
  16. Fort Lauderdale for one night at the end of March 2004. Maybe I should try now. Since I need the two double beds would it be better to use hotwire so I can pick ammenities? thanks for all the help
  17. Does this mean that only one person can use the room you buy? I am going to try and get a room that 4 of us can stay in. Is this possible? I am hoping to get a room with 2 double beds--can this not be guaranteed? Sorry, but I'm new and trying to learn all I can before I post.
  18. We need a hotel pre-cruise the end of March 2004. Have never used Priceline before but thanks to this board have figured out how to use Priceline for Canadians. Will we get a better price if we wait until the new year to try to get a hotel on Priceline or should we do it now? thanks
