We needed to extend one more night and did so with Priceline for $100 for 08/18/12. Was a pretty busy weekend there in SD so glad that option was still available. Thank you for the help!

Winner - Westgate Hotel for $100 Started from $60 and went up by $5 increments til I got the Hotel. It is for a business trip so the location will work out fine. Thanks again for this site to help guide me!

You were right on the button...Closed out the Bay Club Hotel and Marina for $105. I do love this area so I'm sure the hotel will be great. Amazing that I've never heard of the hotel nor is it listed on your hotel sheet. I'll be sure to give an update on the stay on this link once the weekend is done so there is some more information on the hotel. Thank you for this website...I've become a big user of it for both priceline and Hotwire (this is my first Hotwire purchase). Mostly I have found that Priceline fits our needs but we have a 2 small children and with Priceline's set up if you stay gaslamp area for 4 star we end up at the Westgate or Westin gaslamp which are more business hotels and no pools or if you go coastal you can end up on the far end of la jolla at the hyatt which is 20 minutes further from other coastal properties. We decided to not take the chance and go Shelter Island Hotwire. Anyway, thanks again for the help and will be sure to give you our next win soon!

Posting of my trip to San Diego for the 4th of July weekend. Wanted to stay in the Coastal area since the rest of my friends were staying in Pacific Beach. Began my bid at $100 (4 star since I feel more comfortable at that level) for the weekend since I hadn't seen any winners for that weekend. I began increasing my bid by $5 and adding regions that I knew didn't have 4 star hotels (not inclusive of downtown since I didn't want to end up there). At $140 Priceline said I could increase my bid to $165 and win my hotel. I did this hoping thinking I may get the Hyatt Mission Bay which would have been perfect. Ended up at the La Holla Hyatt, which is a great hotel and not too much further for me to travel. Overall a little higher than I wanted to bid but for the 4th of July weekend I wasn't that disappointed (the weather was another story). Thanks again for keeping this website and for all your help. Am posting a trip that was completed a couple weeks ago to San Diego for 2 rooms. Wanted to stay in Gaslamp/Downtown area or Coastal. I usually start at 4 Stars in this region because I know that I will get a top name hotel and won't be too disappointed. Began my Bidding at $80 using Coastal, then changing areas and increasing my bid by $5 for areas I knew didn't have 4 star hotels using your listing. After I got to $105, priceline said I could increase to $121 and get my hotel. I did it thinking it was probably the Marriott Gaslamp. Ended up being the Westgate Hotel. Wasn't my first choice, it's an old victorian style hotel right in the heart of gaslamp...but no pool and no self park, and they charge priceline bidders $20 extra if you need double beds. I needed them since the second room had my mother and girlfriends mother staying in it. I've never heard a high end hotel do this but oh-well.

Am going down for the Jack Johnson concert that weekend and got my hotel on the first bid! Thinking I could have started off a little lower...but can't really complain for that price.
