  1. 90% Approval rate. Amentities: Airport Shuttle, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet. Thanks to your hotel list, I was able to ID this before buying.
  2. This hotel is quite a distance from Santa Fe Plaza area. Hopefully, you have a car. Adding a zone without knowing where it is located can be tricky. Good luck.
  3. I would try for bids in zone: 2 or 9, or 12 and 4 stars. I would avoid zone 13 [lots of hills and it gets close to some less desirable areas].I would not stay in Japantown, pretty removed from what most folks want to see and do while visiting SF. And you would have to take bus to get to almost every popular place. Do yourself a favor and pass on staying in FW, it is a visit spot, not a stay spot. SF has lots of conference in winter [ie March] so it might make it a bit harder.
  4. Too late to help original poster, but maybe I can help future posters. They are physically next to each other, but on different street fronts , hence the 2 different addresses. They are owned by the same owners. The hacienda and spa is the more "exclusive" part of the hotel and has a special concierge available to guests, there is a lounge with a bar with complimentary breakfast and happy hour too. I think the rooms may be a bigger. The hotel is very nice too. Nice dining room, lounge [great native american flute player - Ronald Roybal] and both share parking and outdoor pool and complimentary "london cab" rides into town. Hope this helps!
  5. Nice hotel, great location, free parking, recently renovated. Water park too.
  6. Have stayed there many times, a nice hotel, good location. If you stay downtown, you have to pay parking fees. Better off here with free parking.
  7. Just to follow up: we had a marvelous stay at Royal Palms. As always, the hotel was top notch, the grounds were festive and we were made to feel welcome. The room was great, the service first class, the meals at Lounge, Cabana Bar and T. Cook's were excellent. There is a reason they were just voted #1 in PHX in Conde Nast - they are the place to go for tranquil, stressfree, relaxing, luxury spot.
  8. I just spent 5 glorious days at The Royal Palms 12/15 to 12/20]. The smoking won't be an issue. We stayed in the Estate Building [which is where you most likely will stay] The courtyard area where you can smoke is very open and airy and there shouldn't be any impact on you. This is the most gracious beautiful hotel with caring staff that go out of the way to accomodate you. You are made to feel like a most treasured guest. It is truly a 5 star resort. In fact, it just won best hotel in PHX on Conde Nast. I would not stay anywhere else. And the price you got is a great price. The hotel is our absolute favorite. It was not busy when we were there, it is really a tranquil, restful retreat.
  9. Using your HOTWIRE link, we got The Royal Palms for $133 [plus resort fee] for 2 nights. Amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s ) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services Recommended in 95 % of Hotwire customer reviews Thanks to your list of Hotwire hotels, I was able to pretty be certain that this would indeed be The Royal Palms. It is our favorite hotel in Phoenix/Scottsdale and this is a great price! Once again, BetterBidding comes through!
  10. Cow Hollow Motor Inn has availability for your nights, free parking, a nice area and decent reviews. Avg price for the stay is $90 a night. Room has 2 double beds and is handicap accessible. http://www.cowhollowmotorinn.com/index.htm It has great reviews on Tripadvisor, and I know folks who have stayed there and really liked it. I wouldn't wait much longer. Since you have a pretty limited budget and are seeking free parking, I personally would not risk Priceline.
  11. Just an FYI- this property is NOT a Marriott Courtyard! It is an independent. A pretty basic place, don't want folks to think it is a Marriott.
  12. Per the Hotwire hotel post from BG Bidder here on Hotwire SF board, it appears that it is Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf. they have it for $89 on dates just following yours and with same amenities.
  13. Thanks for the input, I don't think I am willing to chance the 2* and that price for Holiday Inn Express seems high. Thinking of trying another town. :)
  14. If you are driving and need to park a car, that is going to add on $$$ to your per night rate as most hotels in San Francisco charge upwards of $40 or more per night to park. I would suggest Columbus Motor Inn which is in North Beach and offers free parking. It is nothing fancy, but clean and a pretty convenient location for the sites you are interested in seeing. Not sure if you can book there through here, sorry.
  15. Hi. I am looking for a room for 1/25/11 to 1/28/11 in the Healdsburg/ Windsor area. I am coming up with 2 places: 2 * $59. amenities - complimentary breakfast hi speed internet. Says "still gathering reviews". 2.5* $109. amenities - Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Says "still gathering reviews". Any best guesses as to what properties these might be? Thanks.
  16. Using your HOTWIRE link, booked this for immediate, same night stay. While it says it is Port Huron, Baymont Inn is actually in Kimball Township. Amenities: Pool, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness, High Speed Internet, Golf nearby. It had 70% recommended when I booked it, but now it is showing "We are still gathering reviews for this property." Could have gotten Senior rate directly at hotel website for $3 less [including taxes etc] :)
  17. I got same hotel on hotwire for $89 for 8/5 to 8/9 one month ago. Obviously, it paid to book later. Lucky you! :)
  18. You should have taken the 4* for $100, it's a really good price. I got the same "If you are willing to raise your price offer" on a priceline bid yesterday for a different location, tried a few free rebid zones and then took the suggestion and got the room for the amount they suggested. Seems like if they make the suggestion, it means you'll get the room.
  19. Using your PRICELINE link, bid on a 3* Duluth starting at $76. Not accepted, but got an offer for a free rebid [same zone, date and star ] at $91. Since there 2 more free rebid zones, I tried Duluth South at $83 [not accepted] and then put in third zone, Superior WI for the $91 and got the Radisson. I have never had them come back with a free rebid offer. Interesting.
  20. Update: needed the room for a second night, they wanted $89, I got it here for $67. Still a saving, but the $59 would have been nicer :)
  21. Holiday Inn Express $59 One night [6/24/10];l made same day. Area was listed as "Birmingham Intl Airport BHM - Trussville area Hotel" and I was pretty sure it was HI Express, but thought it would be Trussville. Am ok with it being Irondale. Used the HOTWIRE link above. Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access
  22. Just got a room for the night using link to HOTWIRE for Holiday Inn Express in Blowing Rock /Boone NC. Amenties listed were Fit Center; Pool; Hi Speed Wireless. $63 [amount in topic is incorrect; $63 is correct.]
  23. OK, it was time to get off the fence! Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access $89 a night, great price. Was going to pay $139 for Sofitel, but $50 anight difference is worth it. Thanks again for helping with this. Used the HOTWIRE link. :)
  24. Booked this for an airport arrival; 7/17/10 for 1 night, 2 rooms. Amenities listed were: Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s),Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access . This was shown as 2.5* on TripAdvisor and only a 78% recommended as opposed to Hotwires' 3* and 95% recommended. A big difference. Write ups on TA have some less than glowing reports. I also didn't pay attention to the fact that NoSmoking icon wasn't shown and now realize that the HIE has smoking and non-smoking rooms. Well, it's only for 1 night :) Used the HOTWIRE link
  25. I didn't realize that! I thought once you go to CONTINUE you were already agreeing to buy; thanks!
