  1. Looking at Hotwire for $112 per night - any idea which hotel? Any help appreciated! Thanks! Amenities: Internet Pets Fitness Pools Restaurants Business Center Laundry Tennis nearby Accessibilitiy:not listed. Does this mean no accessible rooms?
  2. Okay thanks - especially for the quick response! That was helpful. Reviews seem kind of iffy for the Roosevelt. Prices aren't that bad right now so just went direct with the Bentley for $126/night. Thanks for a great service!
  3. I started at $135 using CPS, MTW and MTE as acceptable locations, went up in $5-10 increments. Not such a great deal as I discovered that rooms on their website are going for $172/night, so cost me more with fees to go through Priceline. Ah well. Still better than the price I had reserved elsewhere. Will post afterwards with a review as online reviews seem quite mixed.
  4. Any idea which hotel this is on Priceline Express - NYC Midtown East for $95/night. Amenities listed include Business Center and Restaurant. Thanks! Will use Better Bidding link.
  5. I am ready to start bidding. Planning on only two nights at this point, but will also need one night on the return on 1/6/14. Any help much appreciated. And yes, I always link to PRICELINE via your page!
  6. Preference would be either Midtown East or West. Range $150-$200, if feasible. Thanks!
  7. Will be in NYC for 2-3 nights. Will prices be ridiculous over the Holiday? Any thoughts on likely price range or strategy? Thanks!
  8. We'll be arriving early on the 26th staying for two nights. Prefer Midtown Manhattan and 4*. Any suggestions for bidding or likely price range most appreciated.
  9. Started at $115.00. Added Airport for $125.00 Added Diamond Head for $135.00 and got it, which was as high as I was willing to go. With taxes and fees: $162.96 Happy to get it. Ala Moana could be had for less, but the Prince remains my favorite hotel. Used Better Bidding access to PRICELINE.
  10. Got it on the first bid, was thinking I would start there then add 3*. This hotel had previously been listed as a 2.5* then changed to a 3*, so maybe need to update? Lowest online price was $102 (plus). Got two rooms for a total of $111.02, all taxes/fees included. Used BB link to place bid.
  11. Higher than what I'd seen, but had bid on Priceline up to $130 and it wasn't coming through so I went for it. Online price for a studio at the Westin Princeville is $243-$285, depending on discount, so still a good deal. Used the BB HOTWIRE link. 2 Rooms, 2 nights, total cost $750.78.
  12. Tried at $75. Rejected. Added Airport for $85. Accepted. Taxes and fees total = $105.08 Used Better Bidding PRICELINE link. Couldn't get anything at the Prince for a trip last week to Oahu. Sold out perhaps in advance of APEC. I paid kama'aina rate for a cramped "partial ocean view" at the Ala Moana hotel, with taxes = $121. Partial ocean view means looking at the Ala Moana parking lot / Macy's with the ocean in the distance. Ala Moana has a better workout room. At the Prince, all rooms face onto the marina, with plenty of space. It's aging, but still very nice, especially if being on the beach is not important to you. Still easy walking to Ala Moana Center and/or the Convention Center.
  13. Yes, there was a resort fee of $30, which covered the parking fee ($25) and two free mai tais. We were upgraded at no extra cost to an ocean-view room in recognition of our anniversary, which was very nice. Very sweet! And yes, I always try to use the PRICELINE link. Thanks!
  14. I was planning to try at $95, which I have gotten before, and got cold feet with the Priceline suggestion of going higher since "based on current data" the average price for a 4* in this area is $276. So instead I upped it to $105, still thinking I wouldn't get it, but did on first try. Surprised, especially for the first night of a Holiday weekend. I really like this hotel and am looking forward to a last-minute "staycation" for a special event. Standard rates on the website start at $249, plus a resort fee of $30.00. I assume I will be charged the resort fee on check-in. Will update post visit. Also, I had intended to check Resort, since this was the property I was hoping for and thought it was a Resort category but instead checked 4*/Deluxe and got it, so apparently Priceline also includes the Marriott Beach Resort as a property in the 4* even though I see others have posted it as a win in the Resort category. Or is it just that you can win a property that is rated at a higher level? Room - $105.00 Taxes/fees - 22.72 Total charges - $127.72 Resort fee? - $30 Total? - $157.72
  15. First try at $85! I have never gotten the Prince at this low a price. Got it earlier at $95 for one night and thought I would try a lower price. Used PRICELINE link.
  16. First try- but happy at this price. Still my favorite hotel in Waikiki. Used PRICELINE link.
  17. Took three tries at $45, $55, finally $65 to get a hotel in the airport area, but it was last minute - only bid this morning, so can't complain, and the best list price was $109. With taxes and fees ($15.99) = $80.99. The hotel seems old on entry, but the rooms are recently redone, basic, but spacious, suites including a sleeper sofa, microwave, 3 TVs, mini fridge, and includes either a continental breakfast or choice of 3 different meals for breakfast at the attached restaurant, or $4 off any other meal for breakfast. Plus a glass of wine. All in all a good deal. Used the PRICELINE link.
  18. Just got the Hawaii Prince (Marina zone) for $95 on first bid. I have previously gotten this hotel for that price (never lower), but it's been a few years. Since I got it on the first try, it's possible rooms could be going for less right now. It looks like there are some great deals out there for Resorts in Waikiki. Hawaii Prince Hotel 100 Holomoana Street Honolulu, HI One room, one night 5/4/11 - 5/5/11 Used the PRICELINE link on this site.
  19. It's the Waikiki Marina zone. Waikiki Hawaii Prince 100 Holomoana Street Honolulu Used the PRICELINE link on this site.
  20. Bid $95 - rejected Added Aiprort - bid $110 rejected Added Diamond Head - bid $115 - accepted I always like staying at the Prince. Best Kama'aina deal available right now is $139.
  21. Got Sheraton 4* at $75 on first bid. Maybe could have gotten it for less, but given website price of $159 for same time, I'm happy! Used better bidding PRICELINE link to bid.
  22. Darn! I just checked this hotel online and find that the government rate is available here for $111 / night! Do I have any recourse?
  23. I haven't used the Hotwire approach before but wanted to be more sure of getting the Hilton. I hadn't seen this hotel included on the pinned list. Amenities = airport shuttle, complimentary breakfast, fitness center, business center, laundry, and hi-speed internet access. We'll see how it works out. Could have gotten the Hilton for $140/night by direct reservation, so didn't save too much.
  24. I went ahead and bid on the Hawaii Prince and got the same deal as the most recent report for the Prince. Date: 1/25/05 - 1/26/05 First bid, $95 rejected Added Executive Center, second bid at $100 rejected. Added Airport, accepted at $105. This is a good deal, since even kama'aina rate is about $150. The Prince is away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, which I like, and all the rooms face the ocean. It's a great feeling to come into the room and open up the windows looking right over the harbor and into the ocean.
  25. I need to stay in Honolulu later this month and next month. I love the Prince and will try to get it for a reasonable price, but am also considering possible 3* hotels. There seem to be good reviews for the Outrigger Reef and Renaissance Ilikai, but I am hesitant to bid on a 3* in case I end up with an Ohana property. Even though they are listed as being part of Priceline's North hotels, no one has been mentioning ending up with an Ohana hotel. Any idea why? Thanks for any input!
