  1. Just an update. We stayed at the Hilton Riverside for 4 nights and loved it. They put us in a room on the 16th floor with a view of the Mississippi River. If you sign up for Hilton Honors (free) they will also give you free wi-fi even though the room is bought on HOTWIRE.
  2. Just an update since we stayed at the Fairfield Inn on December 30th. They advertise a free breakfast but if you have an early morning flight on a weekend, the breakfast doesn't start until 7AM. On weekdays it starts at 6AM. There is not an option for sending any breakfast food with you. Otherwise, it's an average place to stay and they do have a shuttle to the airport.
  3. Amenities: free breakfast, free internet (in room), free parking, outdoor pool, shuttle, non-smoking, gym, handicap accessible, business center. Used your PRICELINE link. Thank you.
  4. We used your Hotwire Coupon link for $20 off, bringing our nightly fee down to $51 plus tax. HOTWIRE Amenities: business center, fitness center, internet access, pool, restaurants, smoke-free rooms, spa services, tennis nearby. Accessible: for visually impaired. Thank you, better bidding.
  5. We stayed at this hotel several years ago and had gotten it on Priceline. I knew it was one of the few 5 star hotels in Syntagma Square area so started bidding at $95 in that area and finally got it at $120. I saw what I thought was it on HOTWIRE earlier in the day for $146 (because few five-star hotels list a self-service laundry.) Used the PRICELINE link. Thanks, better bidding.
  6. I had been bidding for several weeks but finally got the Sheraton at $91. Priceline had a special going on that which brought it to $84. Thanks, betterbidding.
  7. Just an update on this hotel. We stayed there in December, 2014. In the reviews of the hotel people complained about the tiny rooms. However, I read one review to ask for room 609, which I did. The hotel gave me that room by paying a surcharge of $10 (AU) a night, since they called it an upgraded room. I'm glad we did because the room was a decent size. It has twin beds in it. Hotel was in a great location for walking in the city.
  8. This was my first bid and I used the PRICELINE link. With tax it came to $96. Later, I went on booking.com and found it was $108 with tax. In hindsight, I should have started the bidding lower. But they have a free airport shuttle as well as a free courtesy breakfast from 430 AM to 6:30 AM (not the paid premium breakfast) so I think if will be fine for us.
  9. This was my first attempt to bid on Sydney, Australia and I wanted City Centre / Darling Harbor only. I started with $125 and it was accepted. In hindsight, I should have started lower. I noticed, after the fact, that someone had gotten this hotel 10 months ago on Hotwire for $105. The hotel has very mixed reviews but the location is excellent, which is the most important thing for us.
  10. I've been trying for 6 months to get a 4 or 5 star hotel on Priceline in Dublin and it finally came through today. It's the weekend of the European Rugby Championship so it's hard to get a hotel room. Used the PRICELINE link. Thanks, betterbidding!
  11. On the Hotwire website, the area is listed as Friedrichshain Prenzlauerberg, East Berlin. Amenities: spa, breakfast, high speed internet, free internet, fitness center, restaurant, self-service laundry. Used the HOTWIRE link. Thanks, BetterBidding!
  12. Amenities: Free parking, free breakfast, fitness center, in-room accessibility, accessible path of travel, business center, pool, high speed internet, accessible for the blind. This hotel was listed on Hotwire as Roseville - Rocklin - Lincoln area. Hotwire also says they have a resort fee, which they do not. I verified that with the hotel and also read where past customers were told by Hotwire that there was a resort fee.....but, in reality, there wasn't.
  13. No, on the Hotwire site, it does not mention a pool. However, when I go on the actual hotel website, it does have a pool. Also, the Hotwire site says the hotel is 5.6 to 7.6 miles from the center of the city. Actually, it is in the city center near the convention center.
  14. Forgot to mention that I used the HOTWIRE link. Thanks betterbidding!
  15. Amenities: Smoke free rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurants, Accessible for the deaf, High-Speed Internet Access, Roll-in shower, Business Center, Accessible bathroom
  16. Just a follow-up. We stayed at the Birger Jarl in Stockholm in August and were pleased with the hotel. I would call it a 3-star instead of a 4-star like they had listed, but the location was good as well as the breakfast. But they do NOT have a self-service laundry, even though Hotwire listed it on the amenities. The rooms are all the same size and a little on the small size, but very adequate. We would stay there again.
  17. Amenities: free breakfast, free wi-fi, self-service laundry, restaurant, smoke-free rooms, business center. Sometimes listed as 90% favorable reviews on Tripadvisor, other times it says they are still gathering reviews. The hotel is currently undergoing renovation and rooms are of various sizes. I'm asking them for a larger, renovated room. We'll see if I get it! :-) I used the HOTWIRE link and I'm please with getting this property.
  18. Been trying for sometime to get a 3* at PDX for $45 but no luck. Priceline kept asking me to increase my bid to $57. Bid today at $48 and won the Holiday Inn. Used the PRICELINE link.
  19. Started bidding at $70, going up in $5 increments with the free rebids. Won it at $85, using the link. I'm very pleased. Thank you betterbidding!
  20. Amenities: Fitness center, high-speed internet. Approval rating: 90%; when I went back to the site a few minutes after I booked, it said "still gathering reviews". I don't know where that's coming from. The same exact thing happened to me a few days ago when I booked another Hotwire hotel. Anyway, we're please with the hotel. In tripadvisor, some people complain that there's loud construction next door which starts at 6 or 7AM, but we're early risers anyway. On the website, the hotel includes a continental breakfast. I used your HOTWIRE link in booking.
  21. Amenities: Restaurant, business center, high-speed internet access. 95% approval. Used the link. When I bought it, it said 95% approval ratings, but when I go back to the site it says "still gathering ratings". Also, it is listed as Vesterbro, in Southern section of Copenhagen but when I research the hotel it looks like it is in Osterbro, north of the city. In any event, I was pleased with getting the Crown Plaza. On their website, they say they have free internet in the room and free airport shuttle. I do not know if this price includes the breakfast (which is very expensive). A reviewer on Tripadvisor said that if you sign up for their priority program, you get access to the VIP Lounge which includes free breakfast and happy hour snacks. So I will try that, anyway.
  22. The amenities listed were: restaurant, smoke-free rooms, fitness center, pool, business center, high-speed internet. The mention of the pool made me think it was the Omni and not the Berkeley Hotel.
  23. I had been bidding on Priceline, hoping to get the Omni and bidding up to $90. Today I went to look at Hotwire and they had a 4-star for $88 for our dates so I booked it and got the Omni. Used HOTWIRE link. $88 a night for 3 nights = $264. Tax for 3 nights was $47.84, making a total of $311.84 for the stay.
  24. I started bidding at $80 a night and increased the bid $5 each time (there are no free re-bids here). Finally won it at $95 a night. Two nights for $190 plus tax of $34.96. Result: $224.96 for two nights including tax. Used PRICELINE link.
