  1. Thanks for letting me know the most convenient areas.... as expected, the prices there are significantly higher. I will try to check this week if i find something affordable for me. In case I don't, I want to know my options, which is, going to a further, but reasonable area (is this newton/hardvard area too bad? or which other area?) in case i dont find it reasonable, or the affordable areas are way too far, i will just skip boston all together. thanks for helping me in my decision making process :)
  2. yes, for sure i'll be trying Jersey City, i have that in mind :). my questions was mainly because secaucus seems very close to manhattan as well, so before i started bidding, i want to know my second option. I'm definitely not bidding in meadowlands or any other region....my question was specifically about secaucus regions according to priceline. (priceline and secaucus regions divided differently in hotwire compared to priceline)
  3. I'm honestly very flexible when it comes to star level, im more interested in the LOCATION, that's why i'm sticking to downtown as much as possible. The reason why I was bidding for 4 star hotel was because Hotwire had good deals for this in the middle 60s, and I've seen people winning good deals for 50 dollars for 3 stars or more in the downtown area I understand the rebidding process just now after spending some time. I couldnt understand how people found out that certain star level wasnt available in certain areas, but i just realized that Priceline pretty much tells you this in the 1st stage of the bidding process. My maximum budget would be 65 dollars for a 3 star hotel. If it s 2* I would pay less, just because Hotwire offer these at a cheaper rate thanks again for your constant help!
  4. Thanks! I was reading about that Sheraton Hotel, and im definitely not going there, even with the shuttle...The other 3 star hotel seems to be in the same area I think. I was just hoping to be able to target the area of secaucus, which happens to have more decent location, but that's not possible with Hotwire. I'm going to try to make a bid in Jersey City through PRICELINE Just one question, in Priceline, the areas are divided differently, they put "Secaucus/North Bergen" apart from Medowlands. Do you think is more probably that a hotel within this specific area has easy access to transport? These are the two areas i think i will be bidding (Secaucus and Jersey City/waterfront) Thanks again for your help!

(3440 av du Parc) Can anyone tell? Thanks! Sorry, i didnt realize the topic is not complete, i wanted to post the 2* and the area as well, to make my post more useful
  6. Hello I'd like to identify the following hotel in the Newton / Harvard Area...i still dont know if I'm visiting Boston, depends if I find a good deal. Dates: 8 August / 9 August Appears in hotwire for 60 dollars 2 stars Complementary Breakfast Internet has a rating of 3.5 in Traveladvisor with +20 reviews I want to stay in a hotel which is close to public transportation and major turist areas... thanks a lot for your help!
  7. Thanks for the amazing forum, I was able to book a night in the airport area in Toronto for a very cheap price. Since my moms flight arrives at 11 PM, i didnt want to go anywhere afterwards. but the next day i do want to stay in the downtown area, but I'd like a bit of help trying to get a decent hotel. I'm willing to pay from 50 to 65 in the downtown area for a 3* hotel. ( i found a hotel in hotwire around 60 which is supposed to be 4*, but its not available anymore). Dates Aug 3 to Aug 4 I started by bid in Priceline at 50, for a 4*, then lowered to 3 and a half, then to 3. I was not successful. I tried to understand the re bidding strategy by adding zones, but i'm really scared to end up in a far away zone with no access to the metro ( i won't have a car), so that's why i didnt want to add or change any zone. I'm going to try tomorrow...what do you guys recommend? I've seen people getting a 3 * downtown for the range of around the 50s or 60s. Do I have a chance? I think i will try tomorrow a 4 and 3 stars by 55. I'm also open for other areas in Toronto, but I want to be sure that downtown is reachable by subway. Finally, I've been researching in Hotwire, Can anyone identify these hotel? 2.5-star hotel in Downtown Toronto East 56 Dollars | Boutique Hotel |Complimentary Breakfast |Restaurant(s) |High-speed Internet Access 3 star hotel in Downtown Toronto West 61 Dollars | Boutique Hotel | Restaurant(s) 2 star hotel in Downtown Toronto West 63 Dollars | Complimentary Breakfast | Fitness Center |High-speed Internet Access Thanks a lot for your help!

  9. I'm trying to find a decent hotel in NYC. I've been reading tons of messages regarding NY and I learned that staying in New Jersey is pretty reasonable and its not that far from Manhattan (40 minutes according to google) That's okay for me. I did a research in hotwire and a *** hotel in Secaucus is 62 dollars which I think is a very good deal. So, now my strategy is trying get it even a bit cheaper from Priceline. I don't really need a specific brand hotel, all i care is that is CLEAN room and bathroom, I'm going by bus, so, i need something which is reachable by public transit. So, what are the most convenient areas to stay according to my budget (50 - 80)? 3 stars, 2 nights...maybe 3 if I find a great price....and easily reachable by public transportation. Are 2 stars hotels recommendable in Jersey City? I just started using this webpage and as well as Hotwire and Priceline and I'm loving it :) thanks for your advices
  10. I'm also planning a trip for New York....but im on a budget. So, which zone do you consider the best, at a reasonable price?
  11. Well, i was using both hotwire and priceline and I decided to bid in Priceline for a lower amount, and I ended up getting Fairfield Inn @ Suites Toronto Airport for 34 + Taxes, total 45 dollars. I think its a decent price, i checked the reviews and pictures and even though its a 2 stars people ratings are higher. Thanks a lot guys! of course i used the PRICELINE link and in case I use hotwire i will be using this link
