  1. I think the date at the top should read 5/7/09 to 5/10/09, not to 10/5/09.
  2. Started at $27, they countered with $34. I added Kissimmee and bid $29. Wonder if I could have gotten it for $28?
  3. Thanks. My Ramada experiences have been all over the board... so I opted to not go for it... Again, thanks...
  4. $79+ Airport Shuttle Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Traveler Rating(2.5 out of 5) What's this? Based on:40+ customer reviewsLast Reviewed:July 2007 Any thoughts?
  5. Went through SavingsBarn.com. Started at $60 for 4* Montreal. Added $5 each time I added a zone. Not bad since the Rogers Cup is in town.
  6. Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby Including Taxes, Fees, $73 and change Booked last minute. Sox were in town. Easy 1/2 hour drive from Boston, where everything was sold out or too pricey. No complaints at all about the property. Looks like renovations have been done. Quite impressed.
  7. Bid Airport Zone 2.5* $27. PL immediately came back and said no, but try upping it by $7. I said "nah," added Kissimee Zone and bid $29. Still no bite. So I added Sand Lake Zone and bid $31. (Still had Disney West and Winter Park zones to add of needed, but I didn't think I'd need to go beyond $34 because of PL's kind offer early on.) Thanks runNgun, BB.com and SavingsBarn!
  8. Thanks again. Ended up with Amerisuites West for $31 for two nights. (after 27 and 29 were rejected). D
  9. Thanks. Will look at priceline. Amerisuites would suit me just fine... Thanks again.
  10. I've encountered something peculiar. When I search for MCO Airport for November 15-17 I'm returned three choices, one of which is: Airport Shuttle Complimentary Breakfast Pool(s) High-speed Internet Access ... at $41 a night. The others are a 2-star for $51 and a 3-star for $104. When I add a third day (11/15-18), the other two properties remain the same (prices fluctuate a tad) but the 2.5-star I'm presented now has: Suite Airport Shuttle Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access And the price is the same, $41. Do you think they are the same hotel with different amenities? Or is it just a weird coincidence? Any thoughts on which it/they might be? Thanks.
  11. I just booked the Holiday Inn Oceanfront Surfside for 8/20. I was looking for two nights, but when I tried to add the second night, the hotel was not available at all. If I stay in Myrtle another night, I was thinking about this one for August 21st: Myrtle Beach, South Beach area Near Beach Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Laundry Facilities $51 plus $11.85 Any thoughts on what it might be? Or would you suggest I contact HI Oceanfront Surfside directly to see what they might give me for another night?
  12. Thanks. Just booked the Holiday Inn Oceanfront Surfside. Price went down a bit. Actually, it went up (to $66) so I closed my browser, reopened it, and rebooked (through your link of course) and it came up as $49 plus, to total $60.52. Thanks again. I was looking for two nights, but when I tried to add Monday night, the hotel disappeared. If I stay in Myrtle, I was thinking about this one for August 21st: Myrtle Beach, South Beach area Near Beach Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Laundry Facilities $54 plus $11.85 Any thoughts on what it might be? Or would you suggest I contact HI Oceanfront Surfside directly to see what they might give me for another night?
  13. 3* - Myrtle Beach (Surfside Beach - Murrells Inlet - Pawley's Island) 8/20-21 $52+ Beachfront Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Anyone in a guessing mood? D
  14. 3* Charleston-North (Airport) I 'll confirm that guess. Just booked Quality Suites Convention Center, August 17-20. Amenities Suite Complimentary Breakfast Pool(s) Laundry Facilities Kitchenette Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Business Center High Speed Internet Access 1 room(s) $53.00 per night SubTotal:$159.00 Taxes recovery charges and fees:$25.35 Total:$184.35
  15. I'm looking for basic accomodations in Nashville (airport shuttle preferred) for April 13th, one night. Choices I'm interested in are 2.5 star, shuttle, breakfst, strong man lifting barbells, Opryland-Airport area, $42 1 star, shuttle, breakfast, pool, same area for $33 Interestingly, there is a hotel identical to the 1-star (same amenities) in Nashville East area. Wondering if that might offer some sort of a chain clue. I generally don't look seriously at 1-stars, but I have seen in other areas where Fairfields and Baymonts are showing up with that rating, and those are perfectly acceptable for me. Any guesses? Thanks.
  16. Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center Fees $11.95 (compared with $99 on hotel website, etc)
  17. Finding a city name Hotwire lists hotels under can be tough. Entering the zip code of your desired location in the city blank will bring up a menu of the nearest Hotwire offerings. You can choose any that work.
  18. Stayed here... Nice beds, good work station, $10 internet access... the microwaves, fridges and CD libraries must have been in other rooms... Oh, and the hotel is about 10 minutes west of GSP, right on Rt 17 at 287
  19. Sheraton Crossroads Hotel, Mahwah (right off GSP, I think, at NY border). $73 + $16.95 fees. Booked this morning for stay tonight. Amenities listed on Hotwire: Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet Access; Tennis Nearby, Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service). Similar description, apparently, to Pearl River Hilton, which is 14 miles and 21 minutes away. The hotel Web site itself says there is a charge for the high-speed Internet access, but that parking is free, and the pool is indoor and heated. Also, they list refrigerators and microwaves, as well as a CD library, under room amenities. Don't know if there is a charge for them.
  20. Not the only 3.5* in Rockland/Bergen County. Sheraton Crossroads Mahwah has same rating (and similar price). Will post amenities in separate post.
  21. This is a former Radisson. Nice enough hotel. Breakfast was hot, but the hostess said that was because there was a movie crew staying on site. Have been here before and gotten hot breakfast before, so not sure. Phone calls 80 cents. Make sure if you bid on a suite you get one, because the Hotwire rate seems to default to a double bed, and they apparently do not have double beds in suites... So I asked and got a two-room king suite. Oh, and amenities were Suite, Restaurant on Site, Breakfast and Fitness Center. There was a fridge and (I think) microwave in the suite
  22. Welcome to BetterBidding! DisneyWorld Area 2.5 star hotel, restaurant, fitness center, pool, laundry for $37 a night is LaQuinta Lakeside, Irlo Bronson Hwy (Rte 192) just a mile or so west of Maingate . Hotel does not participate in LaQuinta Free Breakfast program; instead offers $1.50 off $6.95 full breakfast buffet. Property charges additional $3.50 "service fee" per night which covers unlimited local calls (no extra charge), refrigerator in the rooms, iron/board in rooms, etc. Rooms are old but clean looking. Staff is standard 2-2.5 star staff. Several pools, basic minigolf onsite, tennis (I haven't seen it), pooslide gazebo bars on site, as well as more... Also, free Disney Channel in the room, and two-line phone with dataport. Just checked in. So far so good. Happy bidding.
